Andre Gray hat-trick today vs Rangers...very tempting to get him in now ahead of Long

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,478 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Team below is based on a WC around week 6 or 7.

    Don't plan on much rotation.

Will play 3-4-3 (or 3-5-2 if Gray struggles for goals early days).

    United, City, Chelsea Arsenal defence of;

DDG - will play all games.
    (Jakupovic)

    Sagna
    Terry
    Gabriel

    Friend (boro) as cover.
    5th defender will be a 4m and won't play.

    Fabregas
    Ayew
    Tadic
    Delefalou
    (Bolasie)

    Aguero
    Kane
    Grey

If Gray struggles to adapt to EPL I'll sell in week 3 or 4 for Carroll, Austin or similar.

    First quick draft

    De Gea Jakupovic

    Azpilicueta PVA Morgan Evans Lenihan

    Mahrez Fabergas Boyd Sliva Watson

    Aguero Ibrahimovic Valencia

Will be making a few changes id say, mostly the cheaper guys.
Maybe change up the keepers also.

Latest draft with Ibra and Hazard added. Getting there slowly I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 603 ✭✭✭CSWS101

    GK - Courtois & Pickford
Def - Terry, Shaw, Evans, Wollscheid, Kone
Mid - KDB, Mkhit, Hazard, Tadic, Cook
    Fwd - Aguero, Gray, Diomande

Thoughts? Swaying more towards a heavy midfield, other two strikers are pretty poor but happy with my defence overall.

First RMT post how am I looking? 1.5 ITB, Ayew could well become Firmino, Jaku to Foster or Evans to Baines or VVD :)Mxlme0D.png

I dont see how you can play anything other than 4 at the back with that team. Your 5th mid is too weak to have 2 cheap forwards.

Maybe downgrade Courtois and one of your defenders and get a stronger 5th mid, maybe Bolasie?

A pretty weak bench, IMO. Which means you're relying on Townsend and Redmond a lot. I know theyre popular here but I'd only risk one of them.

Very strong midfield in fairness but in your DF I'd prefer Shaw over Valencia myself. Doubling up on defense can be risky but United have favourable fixtures so could work out well! Not sold on Giroud, better options IMO. Nice team all the same.

Plus Giroud is meant to miss GW1 according to some gooners who post regularly here

A back 3 of Stones/Terry/Evans seems to be popular.

Ya there the two I'm unsure about. I'm not arsed about the bench seeing as most cheap players ain't gonna make much of a mark anyway.

Haven't spent long picking out a team yet but I'm happy enough with the shape of this team. Not sure if overkill with Mandanda in goals when I have a premium Man Utd goalkeeper instead. Burnley defender or Boro? I don't know much about these clubs at all. I think Hazard is a must have. Had to have Del boy in my team again, especially since my team name is 'JusticeforDeulofeu' :D

    De Gea Mandanda

    Terry Stones Gabriel McAuley Friend

    Hazard Payet Deulofeu Bolasie Siggy

    Aguero Gray Long

If any of the Premium midfielders catch fire you could find yourself ripping that team up fairly sharpish as you'd need a complete overhaul to get some of them in

No KDB, Hazard, Silva, Mikki Ryan etc...

Too many mid-price midfielder is very risky imo

I really think Andre Gray is going to be this years Ighalo. Burnley could struggle and will be hoping he can produce the goals similar to Charlie Austin with QPR a few years back. 8 goals already in pre season.

This is actually quite close to where I was heading. I like the balance between 2 big mids and 2 cheap. In an Aguero + Ibra team as I see it you can either go this way or go for 1 premium mid and 2 mid range (Tadic etc) and one cheaper like Redmond/ Townsend.

What I fear about the latter is the inflexibility to get in one of the many 9.5 range guys if they fire early. With the 2 expensive/2 cheap I think there's more flexibility as you can switch yhe 9.5 mid to any 9.5 or a 8.5 or 7.5 if they look essential. Flexibility in early season especially is king in my book.

I've spent a bit less at the back at this stage too. New managers, new attackers. Clean sheets can be less frequent early on.

So, yes you are relying on Townsend / Redmond but it's a good team for me, and with the flexibility to move onto the early bandwagons.

I've been finding it a lot harder to put a team together this year. I really dunno what to do with lesister players either. It seems so weird having no one from a title winning side in your team!

It was Mahrez I was looking to accomodate in mine.

I dunno about Mahrez I'll give him a few games.

I think there defense could struggle without Kante in front of them. Vardy who knows!

Following on from above. I said last night I'd post this team. Have avoided RMT largely so far as I haven't put huge time into it yet. But even so I'm pretty happy with this barring a closer look at the fixtures.

    Its a GW1-4 max team.

    Foster/Jakupovic
Terry (or Aina), Shaw, Friend, Souaré, Smith
    Hazard, Mahrez, Andros, Redmond, Leko
    Agüero, Ibrahimovic, Gray.

    GKs
2 starting keeper with Pullis power for 8.5m is my cup of tea.

    DEFs
Hopefully Aina comes in at max 5.0 to save me 0.5 here. Stones instead of Shaw also a possibility. Palace/ Boro rotation for 3rd def gives WBA sun BOU PAL.

    MID
As i said above I like the flexibility of this midfield shape. I had originally gone for the 1 Premium/2 Mid/1 cheap with Tadic and Ayew. Hazard has potential to start like a wounded animal after last season. Mahrez has Hull first. Redmond was excellent towards the end of last season. And it's always going to be Andros.

    FWD
Speaks for itself. Marmite. You either want Ibra and Aguero or you don't.

    de gea,
    stones, fuchs, gabriel
    mahrez, deulofeu,redmond, payet
    ibra,kane,negredo

    subs
    hennessey, soaure, rangel, kante

theres a few in there i want rid of but i think for draft one its a good starting point,

Something similar. FW's and GK's the same.

Mid's = Hazard, KDB, Tadic, Montero (at the minute).

I really wanted Mikki Ryan but with Ibra I think I can hold off for now, although switching KDB here will give me 1mil to upgrade Tadic or Montero.

Have JT in defence so could move him out for a 4.5 def & bring in Ayew for Montero (this includes making other transfer above)

Not really settled on this but I have the spine of my team made.

    what your thoughts on this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,267 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

@FHFC very similar setup also. I've same frontline, and then the exact same budget used in midfield, defense, and for keepers. My midfield presently is quite different from yours (just Haz the same)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,631 ✭✭✭wrestlemaniac

Think I'm fairly settled on this for the time being anyway. Set up for the first 3-4 gw's with a few different captain options and can go 3-4-3, 3-5-2 and even 4-4-2 depending on fixtures/form.

    Foster (Jako)

    Shaw Terry Stones Friend Smith

    Hazard Downing Tadic Townsend Deulofeu

    Aguero Ibra Grey

Both KdB and Hazard in an KunIbra team is gonna be hard to manage. It would be a step too far for me.

Swans may struggle so I dunno about Montero. Maybe Zaha or Gradel at that price. I had Ayew but would rather see how he does and where he plays at WHU.

I'd personally prefer to sacrifice one of the 10m guys to improve the Montero spot.

Must have a look at my own team as cheaper defence could get Tadic back in too maybe.

I see (almost) no mentions of Silva and Feghouli.

I don't know how Guardiola is gonna line-up but if Silva's given either Guardiola's Barça's Iniesta role (assist machine) or his current Spain position (upfront in a classic early Guardiola 4-3-3, which I doubt since I don't see who could replace him in his advanced midfield position), he could be golden at only £9.0m.

Feghouli at only £5.5m. Though I just checked his stats and I thought they were better. He may be of these many very good players that are not really good fantasy prospects?

I'm reluctant to go Silva until he can prove his fitness, seems like a prime candidate to be rotated with so many options and CL qualifying
