Yes they are iron age homesteads, nothing to do with fairy's, but our ancestors, if anyone destroys them they should be rightly punished.

My father used to say that a lot of Piseog stuff was made up at the time of the War Of Independence & Civil War. He reckoned it was a way of explaining away the strange noises and movements at night, which were lads moving guns and ammunition.

I wouldn’t have been a big believer in this sort of thing but there was half a tree fell that is out standing on its own (some call it a fairy tree)in a field I have rented.
after the storm I was in clearing a couple of other trees with the tractor and loader and I just lifted this and carried it over to other trees that had fell. I cut it up with the chainsaw and there were a few branches left in a heap. Just as I was driving off I drove over one of the branches it swung up wedged in between the back wheel and mudguard and ripped the back mudguard off . Superstition or not I’ll be leaving the rest of it where it is

That's just poor driving, can't blame the fairies for that!

I wouldn’t go near them. One or two stories locally that would have you giving fairy forts a wide berth.

Also a 9 year thread bump is good going!

I think the OP might have been a troll so let’s leave this one rest in peace.
