Just have to bate Mayo next Sunday now and we'll be all set for September;)

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Woke to cattle munching on the ivy on the house. Got them back. Year a cow for mastitis while checks cattle a mile away. Sit down to breakfast when I get a call from dad that there is a cow in a ditch. Try to dig a trench out with a shovel but she's too tired to go up it so I go get neighbours 8 ton digger and drive that at 2 miles an hour to the feild. Dig a ramp and get her up. Head off to Tullamore
Come back and find out that cattle got into bales and tore 10 of them and dad broke the PTO shaft on the Tedder.
    Don't you just love Sunday's?

Headed to the Arsenal Liverpool match today. I wouldn't have the slightest interest in soccer but it was actually great to watch. You wouldn't really appreciate the skill until you're up close.

I reckon Whelan possibly celebrated the win.

Haha I found the arsenal fan who was losing the plot with a Liverpool supporter celebrating in the arsenal area just as amusing "Show sam fakin raspect!"

Was on at milking time, they were lucky to win after letting a 4-1 lead slip. Nothing like the atmosphere at a Liverpool game.

If Liverpool don't offload Moreno and sign a left back I'll be on the boat over with me boots and fill in there for a while myself. Couldn't be any worse than him.

Around here we pull cattle out of trenches with just heavy straps and front loader on tractor. Strap would be at least 3" wide and let loader down near the head. Lift loader then when pulling back, be sure to keep the neck straight. Done it a few times myself. Hard part can be getting strap off afterwards. A light rope on the strap end (at animal head) to pull it off helps too.

True enough, I'd say Cody went home smiling smugly to himself yesterday.

I use a hip hoist, just tighten it on the hips and tie it to the loader and lift and reverse.

I think they are around 80 euro but very handy for lifting cows stuck in a cubicle as well.

Ah, Cody is a Genius. Still an animal to win, even after all these years. He doesn't have the greatest team at the moment, not compared to what he had years ago anyway, and he still manages to get the job done.

So while I was away and the bull broke to the heifers- I asked brothers to put bull into shed, open a bale of silage and give him nuts. They gave him a handy barrow of hay twice a day and no nuts. You should see the weight he has lost. I tell you twould drive you simple

Got a call from enfer today that they got an empty envelope from me today, posted 1 sample last friday, sample was in the little plastic bag that comes with tags. I had written my herd identifier number on the envelope. She said there was a big hole in the envelope, has this happened anyone before ? Did the sample turn up?

There was only 1 sample in this. Wouldn't be surprised if it was opened thinking there was money in it. Girl said there was a big hole in the envelope

Look guys, Kovu closed her account. Speculation on why isn't allowed on Boards but her input on many aspects of farming will be missed by all on F&F.
