I think there's 2 or 3 forests between Offaly and Kilkenny. But I could be way wrong

I never knew about the millennium forest. Where is it supposed to be?

Did your cert with the grid reference for your families tree come with the candle, can anyone remember?

And where is " the chime in the slime" now, and is it still working?

    Apparently mine is in Galway.

Must pop some iodine pills and pop up there

No clue- I was 16 in 1999- so the candles and tablets were not on my mind. :)

The chime in the slime got a fungal infection and had to be decommissioned.

There's a millennium countdown clock still up in Cookstown, smile when I pass it each week.

I'm going to kill my landlord. Instead of letting me pack for Dublin last night he took me out for drinks as a going away present.
I'm currently dying and trying to pack. Plus my chaps are in the yard so have to wait til they finish mucking out before I go fetch them!

I just checked to see where the nearest to me in Kerry is.

Two of them closest to me, it says,........in Galway.

No mention of the two in South Kerry on the map or did they plant all the Kerry ones in Galway and the Cork ones in Kerry?

Is seems strange they couldn't find a few acres in Cork for a few trees.

The did and they're giving an excellent account of themselves. They scored some cracking points.

Greenways off road, road too dangerous for smaller kids.
Today we're on our favourite, Portadown - Newry canal towpath, with lunch in Scarva Tea Rooms, brass band playing in bandstand on the green.
25k today, it's no TDF but youngest is 9 and eldest swam about 10k this morning.

Lough Key is a great facility and I have fond memories of the place. When the boys were young I used to regularly bring them camping there.
