I find the whole idea of the fight hilarious. McGregor is basically demanding more money from people regardless of product and people are queueing up to hand it over to him.

"Lads, this is gonna be crap so gimme your money"

"TAKE MY MONEY CONOR! TAKE IT!!!!"

I don't get it. Is that because he's saying he'll knock him out in four rounds instead of going the distance?

Yeah. He's a genius! He's probably the best self-promoting sports star of our generation, he's laughing all the way to the bank.

I think you may have missed the point of the article. I don't think he's a genius. I think people willing to dole out pay per view rates to watch this non-event are quite the opposite of geniuses. The logic above is like saying that Kim Kardashian is a genius. I'm pretty sure she doesn't fall into that category.

    Kardashian. Hilarious.

Who says she isn't? Knows her audience and is wildly successful at getting money out of them. if it was easy we'd all do it.

Rich kid gets famous for a sex tape that she didn't release. Publicist decides "hey let's see what we can milk out of this exposure". Bizarrely loads of people buy into a reality show about a rich kid made famous for a sex tape being a rich kid. Publicist says "let's see what else we can milk from this". Rich kid puts her name to things aimed at the tv show audience. Rich kid gets richer.

There wasn't much genius involved in her getting famous. A sex tape and a punt at a reality show. And was it really her making the decisions to get her there or was she being represented by good people because her family had money?

Plus a genius is someone with exceptional skill or intelligence. I haven't seen much evidence to suggest she's exceptionally skilled or intelligent. But then I haven't watched the sex tape. :D

EDIT: Using the results as a barometer isn't the most accurate way to do things. If it was we'd all agree that Trump was the most qualified to be President for example.

The Kardashian machine is ingenious. It's a billion dollar industry despite it being centred around a family of no-talents.

Kardashian is pretty much like McGregor...both of them made their money for being beaten around the ring.

We'll just let that one sink in for a while shall we?

Last night I found myself laughing to Floyd and cringing to McGregor - not what I expected following Canada

  • I have pulled a muscle or something in my lower back and my god I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Aside from just pain it really affects your mobility.

I have pulled a muscle or something in my lower back and my god I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Aside from just pain it really affects your mobility.

The trick is to lift with your back and use jerky, irregular movements.

Seriously though, look forward to sneezing. It's like being stabbed.

I had lower back issues for years. Very much related to core strength and weight. The pain is completely debilitating. The most minor tasks are serious chores. Putting on socks becomes the worst part of your day.

If it's just muscular, you should be fine with plenty of rest, ice and some pain medication. If it's nerve or disc trouble, it's probably going to need a visit to a good physio.

It actually happened about a week ago initially, I thought I was over it so decided to cycle into work today which has aggravated it again quite badly. Initially it happened playing golf of all things, took a tee shot and just got a sharp pain. I saw a doctor who thought it was just muscular so hopefully it'll go away soon. Will be giving it loads of rest this time.

Any craft beer pub recommendations for the centre of London or the City area?

Craft beer is a term that's beginning to irk me nearly as much as vegan.

Haven't been in a good while but enjoyed a few afternoons in The Rake in Borough Market. Have a couple of pints and then a stroll around the market for some snacks before the next few beers.

If you're lucky, you might even find a few stands that do good vegan food.

There are some great BBQ and meat stands there. Try out some of their sausages.

    They're not the wurst.

    On Sundays?

    On Sundays?

Actually, not sure if the market is open on Sundays. The pub is a tiny little bar on the edge of the market which probably won't be open if the market isn't.

The Bar is open at least! I'm a 20 minute walk away so I'll definitely check it out.

  • Borough Market isn't open on a Sunday. No idea about the pub. Was at the market the other week, it's great. Absolutely mobbed though, the food stalls outside were doing some trade.

One of the best things in London. Can easily waste a full day there strolling around, sampling food you've never tried before and having a few drinks.

I'm not buying that you're a vegan, you would have said it in every post since you joined!
