Yes, it's a bit "As the sun sets in the west we say farewell to beautiful Durban, pearl of the African continent"

I'm not feeling it again I have to say, it's more of the same ......a format that had been stretched to the limit anyway but with even less likeable presenters....it's just gonna be half a dozen 'skits' every episode isn't it

still cringeworthy back in the studio though..

It's not a car show anymore.

I'll give the new show a couple of weeks to pick up...else...pull the plug.

How long ago since it has been a car show though? A decade?

    Don't like this "clapometer " sh!t.

Please stop Chris. Chris is spouting lots of made up crap that is funny in his mind but verbally leaves everyone cringing. Look at me I'm the centre of attention LOOK AT ME.

Borrowing the personality of someone else just isn't going to work...

No other grievances mind you so far :)

Once again Matt Le Blanc is the star. He does far better ad lib.

Hmm a challenge where they can't spill Amy liquid to test comfort off road on the car.

What show was I in fits of laughter after watching it years ago

God, this is awful muck. They seem to have forgotten that the people watching should be enjoying themselves too.

    Well I'm enjoying it.

Look, just face it. Clarkson's not coming back.

Much better show tonight, my only complaint was that it was a bit lacking in the laughs department. I think bringing Eddie Jordan onto the show was a lost opportunity. Neither Matt or Chris have the wit to replace Clarkson, so I think the show would really be best bringing in a funnyman. The best thing the producers could do is to bring in a comedian who is absolutely useless with cars. I recall Jimmy Carr recorded the worst celebrity lap when he did Top Gear a few years back. He'd be perfect!

I'll try it again this week, found the Africa trip awkward to watch, so bad that I changed over to watch Cloverfield

The bit at the start of south africa, where they were comparing their cars, was too Clarkson and pretty cringey, but otherwise I enjoyed it. The McLaren bit was good as were the guests.

Where was it said that Clarkson should be brought back?

Tonight's episode was a slight improvement on last weeks, Chris Evans is still too in your face and generally annoying though, I can't understand how the general public like him in Britain.

Matt LeBlanc I think will ease into the role quite well and hopefully continue to grow on the show, going forward. Let's just hope that himself and Chris manage to get on with each other, as the lack of chemistry between the two is laughable.

Its pretty hopeless, cringeworthy at best. It's a shame but they have picked a poor crew with no chemistry and it just doesn't work at all yet.

no chemistry in it and kind a boring

  • Registered Users Posts: 763 ✭✭✭raspberrypi67

nice to see Lewis, like him, billions is good.
Evens does my head in though, he'd be good doing one of the muppets voices!!

This....... I turned it off half way through. No chemistry whatsoever just lads presenting a show. Atleast the other 3 liked each other!

Seriously, what is it with Evans shouting all the time? Have his ears not popped since he came back from the highest pub or something?

    Enjoyable episode.

In terms of comparison to the "old" top gear there's not much of a difference. Staged contrived jokes/conversations through out seems to be the norm no matter who presents.

Bit smarmy towards Eddie for banging that sh*tty Merc.
