It gets 4g+ no problem. I got 132mbs a couple of weeks ago and am regularly getting 50mbs at home.

Thanks for the reply. Great to hear. My Nexus 6p never received 4g+. Something to look forward to.
I think I'll pull the trigger on it tomorrow

Anyone notice a bug (don't know if with OS or the app) where you reply to a WhatsApp message and press via the in-line notification but the original notification doesn't clear?

I also notice that when replying to a standard text message also. I use Google hangouts.

Since the update anytime anyone rings me I get an echo, on phone and WhatsApp etc.
If I ring back it's fine.

What kind of on screen time are people getting with there OP3 (not the 3T).

Mine is 1h 49m and battery is 48%, never really been happy with the battery.

I get about 4.5 hours a day, brightness is 1/3

Mine is on 58% after 58mins on SOT. But there was about an hour of BT music streaming too

I took my OP3 off charge at 07:30 this morning, been using it all day making calls, taking pics, a little bit of Internet, all the while connected by Bluetooth to my Samsung Gear S3, it's now at 15% and estimating one hour forty minutes left...

For me (on a 3T) it's a brilliant battery - easily the best I've owned.

    • Constant bluetooth to a pebble watch,
    • occasional bluetooth connection to bluetooth headphones/car kit,
    • constant internet access (mostly wifi)
    • 50% screen brightness (set to blank after 15 seconds)
    • low call usage

I would generally have 50% or more battery when calling it a day! Previous phones may have been starting to go into the red for similar usage.

The nougat update seems to have made my fingerprint recognition much more responsive - that said, it could have been better configuration this time round.

    Love the phone.

Just wondering how good the battery is on the 3t. I've previously owned a s7 edge and it was terrible, would always die near the end of the day. Saying that though I'm a heavy user.

I'm a currently on a 6splus and it's the best battery on a phone I've ever had! While it's reliable, the os is just plain boring.

I've also heard that Audio playback on the 3t is superior to a lot of phones ( apart from the htc 10 with its dac ) .

A big concern is battery life and that's what I'm after mostly, I've looked at loads of reviews and everything seems to be mostly positive.

Also, has anyone tried the 15 day money back Option?

    Cheers.

I've come from an S6 to the 3T and I find the battery life much better on the 3T.

Between 4 to 5 hours with the use of facebook, twitter, snap chat and instagram.

    100% - 5%

Just in case anyone is still wondering on what the performance difference between OnePlus 3 and 3T is when both running identical software...

Having watched most of the video, the answer is... virtually nothing?

    Link
You read that right: 7-8 hours of screen-on time for the OnePlus 3. While this may sound too good to be true, the claims seem to be backed up by the XDA community. Furthermore, those responsible for the kernel tweaks claim these times are possible “with regular, no-compromise usage habits: daytime visible screen brightness, both radios on, sync on, network location on, all the regular usage features”.

In fact, you can apparently eke out way more than 7-8 hours if you’re willing to exist on minimum brightness with Wi-Fi only and some other features disabled. While that might not be worth your while, the 14+ hours of screen-on time being claimed might be enough to entice you if you’re obsessed with reaching peak battery life.

So how’s it work? Pretty simple actually. The devs behind the tweaks say all it takes are modifications made “using an old school governor featured in practically every kernel”.

While this one has been developed specifically for the OnePlus and the Snapdragon 820, the same methodology should work for any other phone with any kernel and ROM as long as the same governor feature is present. So keep an eye out for more of the same soon.

The kernel tweaks also reportedly improve performance on the OnePlus 3 to a vast degree, eliminating stutters for “buttery smooth, lag-free performance”.

There is a wealth of information available on XDA regarding the specifics of Advanced Interactive Governor tweaking, as well as far more detailed explanations of how it all works, which I’d advise you to read if you’re intrigued.

You’ll simply need root and the EX Kernel Manager app to apply the profile you want (the most popular are listed at the top of the XDA thread linked above). The same kernel tweaks will reportedly work on any device powered by a Snapdragon 820, although you may want to read into this further before attempting it.
Anyone willing to try this and report back? :D

Left phone at 44% going to sleep last night, woke up 8 hours later and its on 10%. Looked at battery stats, but nothing has been taking more than 5% it says. Although it says the phone was awake and the wifi on the whole time?

My phone is on 95% now after 44mins of literally doing nothing on it. It says Google Services used up 1% and Android System 1% but nothing else

Install Wakelock Detector and see what's keeping it awake.

Did a Reset and wipe cache from the boot menu.

Its something i tend to do maybe once a year on phones. Did it today, and after the nougat update the phone is so much more spritely. Its positively zippy, not that it was sluggish before but is amazing what clearing the cache out can do to any mobile device.

It doesnt clear photos or anything keeps all that, but apps will download again from google once booted up.

Quick question, I quite often have to take a few pics with my phone which I then transfer to a folder on my laptop for editing, emailing etc.
My laptop lives on a docking station and I have a USB-C lead plugged that I use to connect it to the laptop.
When I plug in the phone a little menu option pops up asking me what I'd like to do next and I select 'transfer photos' and it opens a little explorer window allowing me to browse to the picture folder for the camera on the phone etc..

My question is, can I make it an option to automatically do this whenever I connect the phone (like I could with my old Blackberry) or do I have to do this every time...?

Better still, can someone suggest a more efficient method of getting photos from my camera onto my laptop for ease of processing..?
I often have to do this several times a day....

You can set your phone to backup photos you have on it (you select the folders you want to back up - camera, what's app images and video, screenshots etc.). These back up to the cloud. Rather than bothering with cables and file transfers, you simply log into Google photos in a browser (there might be a Windows explorer plugin these days as part of Google drive?) And view/download as you wish.

Dropbox would be another good option. Move the photos to your Dropbox on the phone, they'll pop up on your Dropbox on the laptop in a few seconds. Same as Onedrive really, I just prefer Dropbox.

Google Photos is brilliant, you don't have to think about it at all, everything is just backed up as you go requiring zero effort.
