I've just got the notification that the new OS version Oxygen OS4.02 something something Android 7.0 Nougat etc etc. (1.0GB).

I don't know a huge amount about Android, this is the first Android phone I've had after a lifetime of Blackberrys (and an iPhone 3s).
I love the phone, it does everything I need it to do extremely well, it takes great pics, I run it with two sims and the battery life is excellent.

What's the General feeling among the panel of experts here? Should I go ahead and upgrade or should I leave well enough alone...?

Go ahead with the update. It will add some new features. You will have nearly the latest version of Android. There's no downside.

What about all the earlier posts of people experiencing problems like loss of battery life etc after upgrade, or was that a different upgrade...?

That happens pretty much most of the time due to peoples old rogue apps coming back to life when updated after the OS update.

    Its usually individual devices.

If you don't have all sorts of crap installed you will be fine.

I have the update no change.

    Silly not to proceed tbh

What changes have there been to notifications since 4.0.1? I don't see any.

I think the notification changes came with Android 7 so if you got an update previous to 4.0.2 then your already had the major changes applied.

Ah right was wondering what they were on about. Yep, the Nougat upgrade obviously a big overhaul. This one not so much.

Thanks for the advice, I've just gone ahead and upgraded it, apart from one or two minor visual differences (colour changes etc) I can't see anything, where will I notice it...?

Also how do I take a screen shot now? I used to do it with a press of the right hand button it offered me switch off, reboot or screen shot, I don't see it now.

More worryingly when I look at the battery info it says battery at 78%, one hour fifty remaining. I charged it to 100% earlier this morning and under normal useage I could have expected it to remain charged for well over a day...

Just got nougat and I've noticed in the battery usage it doesn't list individual apps any more just general stuff like Android OS, screen, wifi etc
Is there some other way to view app battery usage or will I have to install a 3rd party app?

The easiest way for the screenshot is three finger swipe. Go to settings then gestures, scroll down and enable three finger swipe. Easy.

Dont worry about the battery. Updating android system is a CPU intensive task. After the update system calculates battery life based on the usage. You will soon see it jumping to more time in a while. Now that CPU is not used it will average out.

It lists individual apps. Give it some time to gather stats.

Where have lock screen options gone? I want to turn off "power button instantly locks" but it's vanished on me.

Easiest screenshot for me is still power + volume down.

Go to settings, click on search icon on the top, type power.

    You will find it there.

My data usage has never worked, it's designed such a strange way too, it was great on the OnePlus One, but on my OnePlus3t it doesn't appear to be the slightest bit functional.

Strange, have never had issues with mine on any android device.

Why you think its design is strange?

Do you get mobile internet on your phone ?

Resolved my sound issues that I was having. It turns out that there was gunk in the microphone hole which was throwing out the background noise cancellation.

All is back to normal. Luckily I didn't return it to get it repaired!

Just got the OS update (3T)

Is it just me or have they increased the home screen icon capacity?

I'm noticing a bit of lag when swiping between home screens - anyone else?

The 3T is known to have a touch latency issue. OnePlus said it isn't a priority to them (something to that effect)...

They have. There's a setting to change the the DPI with smaller giving you more icons per row.

My data access has disappered since updating yesterday!

Checked APN settings and none listed.

Re-entered the settings from Tesco Mobile's site & saved, but when I go back to select the newly entered APN it isn't there!

Phone says there are no APNs listed.

    Any help please? :o

He's comparing the 3T to phones nearly twice the price. Hardly a fair comparison.

I updated and havnt had any issues besides the fact that I had everything nicely organised and had to do that again.

What was the point of updating, have I got anything new or cool that I didnt have before?

Just did the update earlier everything is working perfectly. I like the extra row of icons, I'm back to two screens again.
