Yeehaw, just saw that...back to the seaside!

I knew the day would come, just 3 weeks late :D.

    Tuesday

That is probably going to be the best day of the year :)

As like it normally is here in Ireland, this "warm spell" will not last very long as thundery downpours as a result of the humidity in the air will bring much cooler temperatures from Wednesday onwards. If there 5 consecutive days like Tuesday then Ireland would be having heatwave conditions - I'm just saying this in case people start believing these Tabloid headlines crap. There is no doubt that they will do a headline on the warm weather coming and say "HEATWAVE coming... hottest spell in decades" etc :pac:. Again I say, this is not a heatwave.

Evelyn cusack just now on Radio 1 "25.7 degrees was the highest temperature so far this year , however this Tuesday will see 27 degrees or higher for many places, some people will find this oppressive"

Where? I'll jump in the car and go anywhere to escape this dullness.

West Galway is gorgeous this morning. Heat in that sun.

It's like I woke up in Spain this morning, clear blue sky and warm sun.

After a nice start to the morning in Castlebar it has gotten very dull and overcast, just 17.2C currently with a moderate easterly breeze developing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,539 ✭✭✭✭sryanbruen

Temperature has already risen to 21.2c in a couple of mins :pac:.

This Tuesday could be the warmest day for 3 years, this summer has already well beaten last summer here in terms of temperature. Met Eireann seems to have the highest temps away from the east again unfortunately.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,539 ✭✭✭✭sryanbruen

Will this Tuesday beat 2014's maximum temperature though?

Really goes to show that someone's summer can differ wildly even on our small island. This month is very disappointing here in the south dull overcast cloudy muck day after day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,539 ✭✭✭✭sryanbruen

July is not disappointing at all here.

Rainfall: 42% of the whole monthly LTA, it should be at 58-60% by this stage.
Mean temperature: +0.6c above the whole monthly LTA
Sunshine: 53% of the whole monthly LTA, on par now if not slightly below average.

It is certainly not brilliant, but well better than July 2015.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭Musicman2000
