Unless your a Liberal PC left wing wanker and then your safe as houses.
And that does not just go for boards but society in general these days.

The more right-wing a person is, the more angry and unpleasant they're likely to be. If you can somehow find a way of remaining calm when expressing your dreadful opinions, you'll be safe as houses. :)

Just goes to prove his point I suppose.
I bet he thinks so! :pac:

Rubbish to the first. Yep, there's some pretty manky views over on the far right-wing, but there's some fairly nasty views on the far left-wing too. I would suggest that the more -extreme- someone is, the more angry and unpleasant they are likely to be. Certainly they seem to be loudest.

Does the boards wikipedia page not still mention the over zealous mods who ban anyone who doesn't agree with them?

Do fine enough if you play the ball and not the person. Don't like on line abuse, may be that's my age, but we don't know the other persons problems or day.

As Yeats said 'thread softly because you thread on my dreams'.

Make you point, strongly if needs be and you'll be fine on Boards. Like the forum.

Good grief. The opinions of the knuckle draggers and trolls that inhabit the Journal is not something one should worry about. OMG NO FREE SPEECH HERE ... as for the lunatics on politics.ie...

You're missing the point of the importance of free speech.

None of them would last five minutes on After Hours - not least because posting in other languages ist verboten.

From the literature I've read, the more right wing/conservative a person is the higher their life expectancy, life satisfaction, and the lower their stress levels. Cool opinion though.

All rights carry equal obligations and so free speech should not be abused or used to abuse.

Free speech is not an absolute right but is governed by slander and defamation.

Even a case lodged in the High Court today; Smith V's IFA.

Aside from the fact that no one on Boards really uses hashtags, is this a fair representation?

Boards is getting older and people are slowly leaving becuase they have families and responsibilities now.
Look at boards now, trying to inject some jazz with a new interface.

The younger generation won't go on boards, becuase you can't really do much on boards. I don't care about Irish water or any of that ****e.
Talk scutter about soccer? Will probably end up banned, if you say something mean about a player, can't even post a picture or a video of a game for fear of boards being scared they have to take it down.

I would be long gone off boards if it wasn't for the private forums, and even then, it's one rule for some forums depending who is in it and another for others.

I know reddit gets a bad name around here but it's far more enjoyable than boards. Even if it is a bit American.

That's not strictly true. I think I read somewhere that conservative people are more likely to describe themselves as happy (a combination of strong religious beliefs and an 'I'm all right, Jack' attitude, perhaps). Which is not quite the same as saying that the more right-wing someone is, the more likely they are to be happy.

The more right-wing a person is, the more likely they are to shoot themselves dead in a bunker at 56.

I don't think it's anything to do with this thread anyway, since if it was, the thread would have been closed.

And me being a condescending arsehole most of the time. I was actually at a boards beers last year and was smoking a fag outside looking cool for the internet ladies and some lad had a go at me becuase of my posting history in the soccer forum.

Outside boards, boards is a weird website where losers argue all day over nothing.

Really? Ok then. psst. look at what happened at the pegida march in dublin when the bleeding heart liberals went all out and goose step those bad right wingers into a bloody heap. they really socked it to the nazis that day. YEAHHH for Liberalism. conform to us or we will beat the ****e out of you.

Lol like boards is the only place on the internet that has a reputation.

Broadsheet is full of faux jaded hipsters commentators and it's writers basically read reddit and buzzfeed all day in an effort I get clicks, also they have a weird socialist agenda they try to deny

The journal contains people full of their own self importance looking to amass as many green thumbs as possible while it's journo's are so obsessed with getting the story first they leave typos everywhere and do awful fact checking, not too mention the lazy researched tech articles and click bait headlines

Boards is heavily moderated and after hours is just one large game of who can one up who with a wittier comment or make someone else look stupid.

Who really cares though too be honest?

I'm actually more annoyed someone else is using the millennium falcon icon as well as me

A tiny number of people broke away from a large anti-fascist protest and chased a tiny number of fascists into a pound shop. Earth-shattering stuff.
