Oooh looks like we might have a bit of edge and spite to this game, it's been a while since we had some of that for the interpros :D

Just wait till next year ;)

Apologies, error on my part. Home game for Connacht :)

It's incredibly arrogant of me. In the past we've underestimated them. I genuinely cannot see Leinster come away with a loss.

It's not unknown for me to have egg on my face though :)

I'd have thought Connacht would be favourites for this? Home game. Less interrupted by the 6n call ups etc?

That would be my read on it. The bookies disagree though.

Bu Leinster are inherently more awesome.

    Close call.

The fact that you didn't know who was at home is probably a fair indicator of how much attention should be given to that post.

Let he without sin cast the first stone.

I made a mistake. Wow. Do you want to take our willies out and wave them at each other and see who's is more blue?

True but you'd also imagine that a bulk of the Leinster caps will be released back to them to make use of. Along with the likes of D. Kearney and Fitzgerald and perhaps even R. Kearney slotting back in, Leinster have plenty of depth.

Well when you're predicting a comfortable victory against a team who has only lost once at home all season and that in a one score game the venue is fairly important.

Have no idea what you're on about above but errr no you're alright thanks.

I think this could be a fascinating fixture. I'm actually really looking forward to it and I think both teams are going to be treating it as a cup final given the impact it will have on the table.

We're also looking at a team who lost in conditions more suited to the Sportsground 13 - 0

This entire thread is speculative. Do i believe Leinster will win ? Absolutely if we've got our team back.

Ah yes I forgot how the RDS is free of wind and rain 364 days of the year.

So your telling me that the team who likes to play free flowing rugby struggled in the worst conditions they've played in all season lost? I'm shocked.

Also it's a myth the sportsground has the worse weather. all the Irish provinces are effected by it by virtue of being in Ireland

It's wetter and windier in Galway than it is in Dublin. That is absolute fact.

We've only had one wet match all season and it was nothing in comparison to that game in the RDS

I have no idea, just pointing out that the weather in the Sportsground is indeed worse than in the RDS.

Agree with the first part of your post connemara man, Connacht are def a team that no longer want it to be wet and wild at the sportsground, (that sounds very porno-esque ). But I'm gonna have to go with former total on the weather one. While both are in Ireland and subject to sh!te weather Galway def does have worse overall weather than Dublin, and is more likely to have rain or wind at a match. Though when the sun shines there's no where better in the country than Galway :D

Wind? Yes. Rain? This isn't an alien concept to people in Dublin in December.

364 days of sunshine in south Dublin, ye just got unlucky with that one day.

Yep. Last year, Athenry weather station recorded 1.575 metres of rainfall. Dublin Airport recorded 0.878 metres. Almost half of what Galway had.

Once you pass Athlone, there's a significant climate change

I think Connacht have the edge in this one. Voted for them anyway.

It's pretty ominous that discussions on the weather have turned into an inter-provincial argument...
In fairness I think that due to the open nature of the sports ground and it's proximity to the ocean that when the weather is bad it probably has more of an impact on the pitch compared to those fancy stadium things that other provinces use...

More one sided commentary from Leinster fans, our willies are green down here....

Maybe you should re-read the post. The poster specifically highlighted the bit saying that Connacht prefer wet and windy conditions, which is no longer the case, hence his/her comment about an old cliché.

It follows Robbie Henshaw, therefore it's Leinster's next season.

I just hope that the Leinster boys are able to give a good account of themselves given the climate change they'll have to factor in down here in Galway.

On a serious note though, it's a game where the league's most exciting and attack minded team meet the league's best defence. Thankfully George Clancy can't score any tries for Leinster this time so I think that's a bit of an advantage for us straight away. Of course a lot depends on who's released from the Irish squad. I'd love if they could just release everyone, we had a good weather and we could just genuinely see who the better team is.

Should be an absolute belter, whoever wins it should be almost guaranteed the home semi final.

As an aside, I love how our season has developed. A few weeks ago we were worried about top 6, then it was top 4 and now I think we can really focus on trying to finish in the top 2.

Think we're the better side and will be able to secure the win, we've been very good at securing bonus points lately aswell but won't be greedy this time. 4 points will do fine.

    ermm no

thats not AT ALL what the poster said.

what was said was that the forecasted conditions are 'conditions more suited to the Sportsground' .... which is a meteorological fact.

nothing at all about connacht preferring wet and windy conditions... in fact what was said was that Leinster beat connacht in the RDS in conditions more likley to be met in galway

Looks like I to get another coffee. You're right I misread the post, though I do still think the general gist was that Connacht prefer those conditions

    Is Nigel the ref?

But ye won't have George to disallow any perfectly good tries that Connacht's opposition might score, so it balances out.
