You'd like to think this sort of injustice (and the Brown incident) would fire on the French, but they'll throw the towel in.

    The BBC commentary is horrible.

TMO wasn't in his ear to check that

Mike Brown is a spiteful man

Might be a cricket score this evening. Great viewing so

Why did Owens think it was still a try?

    What did Brown do now?

That's a bizarre decision on the try

He said they were side by side, Maku wasn't in front

    The French defense is hopeless.

Draw = no England grand slam, France stay below us in the table and we stay 7th in the rankings

Of course I want the Brits bate, goes without saying..

He said something or other about side on. I'm a bit more relaxed about it, I don't think Vunipola necessarily stopped Guirado making the tackle. Interestingly Brian Moore thinks France were hard done by!

    What did Brown do now?

As Speddimg kicked the ball, he raised his leg and took him out, parenting a proper kick chase.

I hope he goes cited for it

This fixture last year was quite an exciting game, couldn't enjoy it then though. This one's decent so far.

The TMO showed him the replay for a reason as he obviously believed it was not a try

quite arrogant of Owens to barely look at it

Guirado tried to tackle the ball carrier and got a load of a blocker in the shape of a Vunipola for his troubles, preventing him from tackling Cole.

    End of discussion

    No try.

    Poor call from Nig

    What did Brown do now?

Held his line after Spedding kicked through, but then lifted his leg into Spedding to trip him up.
Wasn't even controversial, was clear as day. Probable yellow too.

    Vakatawa loves that touch line.

Brown and Hogg the two most likely FBs for the Lions next year but both quite "feisty". Get a ref in the wrong mood and we could end up with Zeebs lining out in red :D

    IMO
    Brown
    Hartley
    Tuilagi for beating up women
    Ashton
    Lawes
    Farrell
    Marler
    Haskell

Clearly it isn't the end of the discussion because the try was given

It actually wasn't a block folks.

Technically you only ping a cross or accidental offside. Both situations require the offending player to be infront of the ball carrier.

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,899 ✭✭✭✭BBDBB

Not really arrogant, he is paid to make those calls based on his view of what happened vs the laws. The tmo wanted him to see a particular camera angle and it only took one view to show that Manu wasn't in front of cole

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,790 ✭✭✭Utah_Saint

Owens decision strikes of stubbornness. Kinda like....im the best ref and have made a call, and no tmo will overrule me...

    Or maybe I'm over analysing...

Tackler hits Vunipola first cause he is in front of Cole.

Owens never likes penalising obstruction if he thinks it was accidental but I think he was totally wrong there. Vunipola definitely drifted in front, impeded the tackle and it led directly to a try.
