Anyone else notice a lot of poor graphical issues in Blood & Truth? I'm on a standard PS4 but the graphical pop in is insane. In the first scene where you can move, you're standing beside a wall and the textures kept blurring before popping in as clear and crisp textures (This is just the easiest example to describe, it happens all throughout the game). It's really noticeable when you pick up a clipboard, it will be unreadable as blurred colours for about 5 seconds and then pop into view where it is crisp and readable. On top of that, I've experienced lots of world glitching where walls flash white or disappear for a second. I've killed enemies with the shields where the shield stays floating in mid air after they go down, and even had an enemy simply fall through a floor and get stuck under the world. I'm playing the physical version of the game but surely that shouldn't matter?

It's a superb experience but the issues really break the immersion.

I think the game is really designed to be played on a Pro ... I nailed down what was bothering me about the visuals on my OG PS4 and it's that the graphic fidelity reminded me exactly of Driveclub VR.
e.g. in the scene where the mother is shot, the sister's face was just a pink blur with 2 black dots where the eyes are

I noticed the shield issue as well.

It's good for what it is: an action movie simulation where you are along for the ride.

I think Trover Saves the Universe might be a better buy for my OG though.

I've noticed no issues on the PS4 Pro. I'm just under half way through the game.
The game is currently at version 1.02. I assume you got the latest patch before playing it?

Im playing on OG playstation and the only issue i've had is the floating shield from the armoured lads a couple of times.

Not surprised, it’s the 1st VR game to reach no 1 on the charts which is quite an accomplishment. I’ve played it twice through already and it’s up there with the best of the best - sequel can’t come fast enough :)

It's also being pushed heavily in TV and cinema ads (showing before John Wick 3 for example) so would be akin to any other big release.

Great time for VR adoption though!

It is John Wick VR tho so it’s good the trailer is being played. Great achievement though when you look at the competition it had to take top spot, it make psvr a realistic peripheral in the Sony stable. I just hope b&t2 won’t bleed over in to ps5 but it’s doubtful.

Trover Saves The Universe is pretty excellent! The dialogue is so fluid and hilarious, you'd feel it's actually improvised in real time.

There must be 100s of hours of audio recorded for just about every situation.

I've only started into it recently, but already I rank it as one of my favourite sit-down VR games.

Without Parole did a Why We Love of Crisis VRigade.

It looks really good and apparently a lot of play time due to difficulty.

On sale now on the PSN store. Well worth a pick up for anyone with the Aim, especially for anyone with find memories of Time Crisis

Not a big racing fan myself but there's a couple of VR games you could try out - Gran Turismo sport has a VR mode, Dirt Rally, and of course Wipeout. Driveclub VR is available as well but support is ending very soon for it so might not be worth shelling out for at this stage.

Gran Turismo feels the best, and is by far the most immersive. You just can't do any proper races in it, just one on one. You can drive every car on every track though, and there's a lot of them.

Driveclub feels like you are racing in a car made out of paper.

There are some deals at the moment on VR for the Days of Play.

The deals in Smyths seem to be quite good: https://www.smythstoys.com/ie/en-ie/video-games-and-tablets/virtual-reality/c/SM060443

I haven't actually used a PSVR before, but it's tempting. I tried an Occulus Rift once, just with a rollercoaster Sim.

It's 199 for the starter set or 229 for the starter set with 5 games. Seems like good value?
I'm most interested in Firewall Zero hour, which is also on sale.

In GameRob you can get the VR Worlds bundle with Blood & Truth for 199.

Is PSVR generally recommended by people?

258 pages of posts would say "Yes" ;)

Better if you have a PS4 Pro though.

Is there a substantive difference? I only have the bog standard PS4, launch console.

I don't really want to get another PS4 and would prefer to keep it going till PS5 if possible.

Not really man, I use an OG PS4 and the graphics have never bothered me at all. The Pro has a slightly sharper image but it’s nothing you’ll notice after a few minutes of play. Of the bundles you posted, the 229 deal with 5 games is a savage offer - I think my wife payed nearly 350 for mine at Xmas and that was just with VR Worlds and Astrobot so that’s an absolute bargain.

Thanks a mill. Yeah, it looks like a brilliant offer, so might take the plunge!
I feel like a bit of a selfish brat buying this for myself but great value all the same!

I have the OG, and yeah it's grand.

Tbh I never noticed I was missing out on anything, but just recently I got a Quest and Go which sorta made the quality of VR on my OG appear somewhat blurred, though the Pro reportedly makes it sharper.

The advantage of getting a PSVR now is that it will also work with the PS5 which should also provide sharper visuals without needing to upgrade the headset.

Welcome to the vr family haha :D Make sure you start with some of the worlds stuff if you don’t have VR legs yet, you need to find out where your comfort level is so you don’t end up motion sick. Blood & Truth can really get you in some parts if you’re not used to VR, but once you are ready get straight in to it - incredible game. Astro bot is a good starting point too, guaranteed to have a smile plastered across your face for the play time.

Oh and firewall with the aim is a must have as well, brilliant game. Add me on PSN - TheSpecialist85, if you do get it and want to squad up some time :)

    Nice one!

I see the bundle doesn't come with Move controllers, so see if you can get those on a sale too as they really "make" VR
(i.e. being able to reach for things, or aim guns using your arms)

And then splash €40 on Beat Saber and the first DLC and have your mind blown and your sweat glands working overtime! Don't download the second music pack though, it's 10 Imagine Dragons songs. Unless you're one of those weirdos that likes their music!

That’s a serious amount of quality gaming you’ve invested in man :) Now that you have the move controllers, don’t forget beat saber when it goes cheap! I’ve yet to find another vr game that has people of any age hooked as soon as they play

Superhot VR would be up there too, fantastic game!

My brother was trying it out on my PSVR, and making noises that he didn't realise he was making while 'throwing' things in game...
