Thank you folks. I think I'll get In Death, both that and Persistence look good, but I don't think I'm quite ready to shat me pants so I'll give Persistence a miss. Getting a Dead Space VR vibe off it, and that game gave me enough jumps without the VR! I'm saving the scary games for when I can record myself. I'll be famous for crying like a little girl!

Everyone should get In Death... it feels so good to nail a shot in the face :)

Changed my mind, mate came back from lunch and told me about Pixel Ripped 1989. Looks amazing so I'm going to get that instead, and it's down to €12.49 so bonus!

Pixel Ripped is good but doesn't have the longevity/replayability of In Death.

It's definitely worth €12.49 though, particularly if you grew up playing Gameboys / DS.

Feck it, I'll get both so! Still less than €30.

    Edit: Correction, €30.48!

    They're all good.

Personally I'd rate them best to least....

    Pixel Ripped
    I Expect you to Die

but do get them all when on sale

Wasn't a big fan of I expect you to die. Pixel ripped is good fun. Can't recommend Headmaster enough if you don't have it.

I got it on the 26th of December and became my favourite game of 2018!

Is it worth the €40 price tag?

It's very nice, but it's just Tetris in the end. Worth 20. 40 is way too much. You can finish the main campaign thing in about an hour or so.

I got a loan of it off my mate with the aim controller, it was good, immersive, but no option to speed up the turning and that turned me completely off it.

How long ago did you play it? I got it for Xmas and haven’t noticed any problems with that, turned off aim offset and smooth turn options in settings - plays pretty much like R6 but in VR

About 2 weeks ago. I only played one of the SP missions, some house I had to plant 2 sensors and do something with a laptop, just found the turning so slow, took about 2-3 seconds to do a 180, and couldn't find any options to speed it up, even with the smooth turning enabled.

That sounds like the initial click turning, it can be turned off and right stuck used to turn like any other FPS :) Give it another shot man, it’s brilliant

That's what I did do. It was initial click turning, changed it to smooth, but still took ages to turn 180. Maybe I messed with something else, can't remember, it's all gone back now anyway.

In death is great fun. Is it just the one "level" basically see how long you survive.
    It is alot of fun.
Pixel ripped is not bad havent put on expect you to die.

Ps I paid full price for Tetris effect.
Thought it was worth it for the music and visuals.
    It is Tetris but cooler!!

There are sublevels in In Death too. Shoot a teleport arrow into the black holes the phantoms come out of.

I think there are more levels. I've never beaten the level one boss yet so no idea :)

Jaysus got to the boss and lasted 1 second.
    Got two hits off.
Spent an hour making sure to clear everyone out and exploring. It's a great game.
One that is hard to explain how very cool it is to play once you manage the control scheme and how to retreat quickly.

Thanks for the recommendation I've had a blast over a few hours I've playedf.
    It's a win when I break the top 1000 on a leaderboard!

If you like it then you really should try the Persistence. It's similar as in you don't really die, you come back at little stronger, and the ship is randomly generated too.

I've put a lot of hours into both. Two proper VR game-games if you know what I mean.

The only reason I haven't jumped on that yet was the first demo I played it was an awful pile of sh1te.
I will try the new demo if the experience is as much fun as this, love games that you forget you are playing.

Lots of people rave about Persistence but I found I was getting major headaches with whatever way they did the focus. I think the menu / status bar was too close to the face and the constant switching between different focal lengths was the problem.

Only game I've ever had to refund :/

It might be an OG thing. I think that most people that enjoyed Persistence played it on a Pro as the visuals are probably improved and not as blurry.
