Also shout out for Moss, a truly beautiful game.

I'm gonna start into Moss this eve... Santa was good to me

My camera is up high and they say that it should be positioned low, so should be interesting.

No way in hell I'm moving my camera ;)

Anyone fancy a few rounds in Creed this week?

I find it's a great post gym workout.
You can add me on psn:

I would but I had to hang up my gloves after giving my brother in law a black eye and punching half the decorations off the Xmas tree (bad game to play as a first VR experience with a few drinks on Xmas night :D).

Is the online fighting a bit more responsive than career? Felt that most fights just degenerate in to flailing your arms until you knock them out.

Gimmick or not, something is needed. I got a loan of the aim controller with Firewall. Seems like a good game, but the movement is sluggish and annoying. It took away from the game, especially if there were enemies in the 180° behind. Something like this would be welcome, but I can't see how a sitting down device will help with games where you're supposed to be standing up.

Personally, I'd prefer if they came out with 4 sensors to place around the room to improve the detection, similar to the ones on the Vive.

I think Oculus Quest is going to be a game changer in VR.

It's full 6DoF, but no sensors (OR wires!) required. Simply just the headset and controllers... essentially a portable gaming console, like Oculus Go.

I know this was mentioned previously but just checking if anyone knows anywhere where you can get the move controllers??

One thing that can kill an idea is too many peripherals, although the foot controller seems like an interesting one, Id stay well clear. With PSVR I think developers and consumers just need to stay focused and work and play with what's in front of them now. Other immersion tools such as treadmills, skateboards, gloves etc, should be saved for a future incarceration of a PSVR package, when the product is more refined and is wireless, and more like the the Santa Cruz, where everything is packaged into the HMD.

Quest looks good but can only track the controllers when they are in front of the headset, I'm not sure how big a deal that will be tbh.

Won't know anything really until it's released. I'll probably pick one up as I'm thinking of developing a few apps for it.

Some early reviews are coming in already...

All this talk of Black Mirror and it’s interactive episode. Do yourself a favor and get a proper interactive experience and get The Inpatient. IMHO its soooooo much better.

The lad I bought the PSVR from recommended this game - I went for RE7 instead but will give that a go next I reckon. RE7 is very entertaining - quite a few moments of nearly sh1tting oneself so far

Can you stand up on that PSVR foot thing without breaking it?

I think that would be a recipe for disaster or a broken face! :D

It’s not as long as Resi7, only about 2/3 hours per play-through, but it’s got good replay value, as your decisions fork different outcomes. Definitely one of my favorite experiences on PSVR and graphically it looks superb. I played it on pro and found it amazing.

It’s more a long experience than a fully fledged game, so I’d wait until you can get it at a good sale price, maybe between €10/€20.

Also, if you do pick up, make sure you take some time to toggle with the controls and find something that your comfortable with. This has a big impact on your enjoyment. There’s a nice article here which I also found to be the best way to play.

If you do pick it up, let us know how you got on :)

Definitely do your research before buying the Inpatient, even in a sale. It has been critically panned as a game. As an experience, it's probably worth a tenner but just make sure you know what you are paying for.

yeah I liked it, and found interacting with characters using my voice was great, but definitely a game that shouldn't be bought for more than €15

€10 would be a perfect price.

So I dug out my old ps3 move controllers, I assume they'll work fine once I manage to find a charger for them? Wanting to play Beat Saber.

Tbf, it received polarizing reviews. Some people loved it, others hated it. It wouldn’t be fair to say it was criticality panned. Metacritic has a score of 6/10, so very unfair to say it was panned.

They work 100% and are pretty much the same controllers
    Its what I use.

And with the PS3 moves you have the directional pad available, a bizarre design omission for the Ps4 ones.

Didn't think that worked for anything.

It works with Dream Match Tennis.

I don't understand why there are no thumbsticks on the move controllers. Would have made movement a lot easier if they were there, for turning at least, instead of using the buttons.

Yeah, and they release that lolo ball yoke before controllers with sticks. It's baffling.

That's a 3rd party developed peripheral, nothing to do with Sony.

It's been licensed by Sony so in fact it has everything to do with them.

I reckon they're saving all the improvements for VR2 on the PS5.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,396 ✭✭✭RocketRaccoon

Is anyone else playing Beat Saber?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,953 ✭✭✭Doge

They already patented a new controller with thumbsricks but it's probably for the next PSVR / PS5.

Played it for a while, never really hooked me. I think it's because the music absolutely sucks balls.
