I honestly think the reason he lost is cos he threw everything he had at Nate for the first round and gassed himself.

He may end up blaming Portal for it or at least partly blame him, I haven't seen him say it yet, but I don't think he was any part of the problem, especially not to the degree WarZ thinks he was.

Luckily Connor was able to knock Aldo out before the consequences of his conditioning with Ido Portal become apparent.

But this was much the same prep as the Diaz fight, with Portal arriving in the final week for some gymnastics.

I think Conor is talking sh1t alluding to any blame towards Portal. It seemed to work just fine against Aldo.

He just lost to a better man on the night against Diaz. End of.

Thats YOUR opinion. What was once my opinion is also now shared by McGregor making it far more credible.

Anyway I'm done arguing this, I was proven right despite being ridiculed on this forum

Please point me to an article or video or sound snippet of him specifically saying Portal was to blame.

Actually mentioning Ido by name mind, not just saying his preparations were wrong.

I acknowledge I'm likely in a minority here, but I just think mcgregor underrated Diaz too much.
The Diaz bros are constantly in shape and can take damage.

But there both very very beatable, keep distance take out lead leg again and again and again, bait them in counter -punch repeat.

Not pretty but it works on both of them fairly consistently.

Then again just an opinion I'm no expert or anything

He ate desserts all week?? Jesus, I didn't know that. Sure no wonder he lost so :p

Kinda hard to gas out in 13 seconds in fairness.

It all sounds like excuses to me. McGregor lost to the better man. Full. Stop.

We get that, but just because it all sounds like excuses to you, doesn't mean that is what they actually are.

Look, it's absurd to attempt to retort the arguments that were made by pointing out that McGregor didn't gas out against Aldo. How you can't see that I don't know.

I remember a time when this thread was credible, had up to date news and well put together opinions on McGregor's fights and possible game plans.

It has descended into childish insults, "I told you so"s and constant self back-patting. Sigh...

I would love to read some stuff about an upcoming mma fight with Conor and not this tripe about him v Mayweather :o

I am sick of him talking about his Rolls, his shoes, his money, his watches etc. I really liked Conor because he always came to bang and he was a fellow Irish man, I feel like he has lost his way a bit in recent times. I cant wait until Conors next mma match is announced and this Mayweather sh1te is in the past. Conor v Edgar is what I want to see, Conor is the champion and Edgar more than deserves a title shot. At this stage though I have doubt whether Conor will ever go back to 145.

I can see what Conor does be at with his flashy cars clothes jewellery ect I'd be doing the same myself living the good life but its detrimental to a fighters career sometimes,no matter how hungry he says he is in an interview it's hard to get out them silk sheets and go running and putting hard work in,he has already secured his and his family lives financially with bundles in his bank still,

Not saying hes not working hard or hes lying in interviews but maybe he eased off a bit,who could touch him after ko'ing a real mma beast like Aldo so quick and early,

One thing that made me a massive fan of Floyd Mayweather was his work ethic right till the end when worth hundreds of millions he still worked like he was stone broke, came from real poverty,he'd go running miles at 4am in the morning after being to the strip club too never let the good life effect him in the ring, not knocking Conor and it was one defeat only but its more a general point about his social media persona of late.

No you weren't, and the blind insistence you were is frankly pathetic.

That was my point a few posts ago :pac:

I would love to hear him talk about upcoming MMA fights he wants or talk about fighting. All he does now is show off and drive around in expensive rented cars.

He always seems so stiff in interviews lately as if he is constantly trying to show off and talk about how "life is good", "its good on top", "I feed these bums" etc etc. When he started off in the UFC he seemed to have a sense of humour and was always joking around, he seems so much more serious and like he is constantly in character these days.

Is there any news yet on his next fight? Wasn't it last week that Dana said he'd have a fight tied up within 24hrs?

    Banned for being right?

That doesn't make a lot of sense. I stood by my convictions and was ultimately proven right despite a cohort of bullying, sneering individuals who did everything in their power to sideline my opinion.

Sorry if I missed the post. But where were you proven right?
Dud Conor confirm Ido was his jiu jitsu coach? And all the the other things you claimed.

Maybe it's not a character any more.

I said Portal was a big factor in Conor's performance on the night and Conor has just come out saying the same.

Listen lads just get over it, I was right and you were wrong. A bit of humility wouldn't go astray

yeah I think they said they'd expect something within a few days, which is probably about a week past due now. Nate was on mma hour last Wed/TThurs saying his manager is still talking to Dana/Lorenzo but expects it to be sorted.

Its kinda strange all these 203 fights coming out and still 202 card(or main at least) is blank. Nate shouldn't be f**kin about too much though, he should make sure he's on 202, do his best to get a top LW ASAP after and try to get a titleshot at 209 :pac:

Whats all this crazy talk that McGregor should be discussing his upcoming fight when at this point he doesn't even have an upcoming fight?

Humility is what you have been lacking with the constant "I told you so's"....

Yes, you mentioned that Portal was detrimental to Conor's training. Congratulations Captain Obvious. It's not like you were the only person in the world to point it out.
    Touch butt, pool noodles anyone?

Let's get back to talking about future fights maybe.
