Its simply a counter to your point that over the last 8 years or so you don't think he has the power to put anybody down, he did put someone down in Ortiz.

Scummy? Yeah it sure was! So was the headbutt from Ortiz for that matter, but it serves enough purpose to illustrate that if he hits you clean on the chin, you still go down. Conor is the same actually, Mendes spoke of his accuracy, accuracy kills, Floyd would be able to find that chin imo which means he could put him down.

It would be far more preferable to 12 rounds of running around pot shotting and spoiling his way to a victory anyway!

For the record, I would not pay for, nor would I stay up for that fight. I would download it after if I heard it was worth a look, but going on the tripe Mayweather has served up for years I doubt it, I just see Conor being made to look clumsy, amateur, and embarrassed.

Jeffries comment? Meh, he has a gym which he wouldn't mind publicising, and he has a podcast and needs to keep a media presence :) Him speaking well of McGregor is not something I would get too excited about

yeah i get that but standing on someones foot then punching them twice when theyre not expecting it is a bit different to landing a shot flush in a match.

Are you still banging this drum seriously?

Mayweather doesn't need to go all out offensive to KO a guy who was probably intermediate level on the national scene in Ireland.

Any ranked pro welterweight boxer would in all likelyhood KO McGregor. The best fighter of the last 15 years or so would obliterate him.

His foot movement, his timing, his precision, he stops him easily. Just because Mayweather hasn't stopped some pretty elite fighters in the last 7-8 years doesn't mean he wouldnt easily smoke out a novice boxer like McGregor.

The King training for Mayweather or simply helping his boxing for a fight against someone who trains with Andre Berto?

He's clearly got skills, even in the boxing ring, but jabbing isn't one of them. Needs to work on that, because he has no defense when he's walking in either which he'll get punished by rangier fighters.

I'm a big fan of McGregor, but this talk is just absolutely ludicrous. Pure hype, designed to keep both parties relevant in the media for their own reasons.

What Mayweather would do to him in a boxing ring, Conor would do to him in a MMA cage.

It would be an embarrassing contest in either case - They would completely obliterate each other in their respective fields.

It's a bit too Polar Bear vs Silverback Gorilla, and I'm surprised that anyone is taking it seriously.

Don't put more theories out there.

The sun and joe.ie will likely report this as the co-main event now.

Jaysis, he has a lot of work to do. His footwork in a cage is great, in a ring its not so great at all!

    Yeah that was pretty poor.

Got tagged about 20 times and didn't see him land one.

His footwork was what I noticed. Putting him in a ring with Mayweather would be flat out stupid!

He's using a karate stance because he's training for an MMA fight not a boxing one. His biggest problem is he has no jab. All he uses his right hand for is feeling range and feints. Makes it easy to anticipate once you get a read for him. His left hand is still lightning quick though.

Anyways back to real news. He's meeting with Dana and Lorenzo tonight and they are going to decide who and when he's fighting next.

So Dana said on interview last night that a Conor fight should be sorted 'by tonight' (last night) as he was meeting with Conor to discuss. Then 4 hours ago, he posts this. I think we might have a fight on our hands...

Conor should challenge Beebs to a sing-off. Twitter will just explode. He can tweet cryptic pics of jewel encrusted microphones and short videos of him singing at Gary Barlow's house. Simon Cowell could neither confirm nor deny that he has been asked to publish his album.

+1 I actually felt a twinge of excitement seeing Dana's tweet there, like the old days :o Can't wait to see him back in the octagon, and all this Mayweather stuff disappears.

Between the Siver and Mendes fights was when the hype was at the perfect level. He was very popular here and in the states at that time but not shoved down our throats either, everyone seemed to love him then. I'm just hoping he goes back to being what he was, a great mixed martial artist who is great to listen to and fun to watch. Everything post-Diaz has been pretty unbearable, looking back on it. I've definitely changed my tune on his carry-on.

Is it all going to his head a bit?

Not the biggest sin in the world if it has.

    He is human afterall.

I actually thought his post Aldo fight press conference was his peak likeability. He was respectful to the former champ, and was more focused on the task. Confident with too much cockiness.

Then suddenly he turns up to the RDA presser dressed like El Chapo and I was wondering what happened. Definitely went to his head.

I think its important to try your best to ignore the obvious BS and just laugh at the presser type antics without taking any of the talk at all serious. Well I think thats how I can get through it lol. Like the retirement tweet a few weeks ago, I said straight away in here it was a joke and the thread was going to go nuts so it was time to avoid for a while.....and I think over the next week to 10 days there were over 150 pages(20 posts per page) in this thread alone...along with some chat overflowing into other threads.

I cant wait either for him to get back to being a fighter, which I was kinda glad when he refused to do the UFC200 commitments.

Post Aldo I'd have said and that 'El Chapo' presser, it got too much ...the money talk too much ....not so long ago he was shouting "Dana 60 gees babay" now he laughs at anyone who makes that and throws it in their face.....get back to basics Conor
