I think Rory's looking for leverage for a better contract, but if he loses to Wonderboy he's out the door because of that. They can afford to let him go to make an example of him, but I really hope that doesn't happen, by far one of my favourite mixed martial artists.

Not a hope do they let Rory go. No way. If he goes it will be his own choice

I fully agree that what Conor did to Aldo was sensational, just like he said a beautifully timed shot with Aldo lunging in.

What I don't understand is how Conor fans cant accept even the slight possibility that like thousands of fighters before him Aldo got caught cold in an unlikely turn of events.

I picked Conor to beat Aldo and was pretty confident but honestly expected much more of a fight and couldn't see such an early finish. The thing is even if Aldo did the same to Conor I would want to see the fight again because it left too many questions for my liking. Fast forward a few months and after seeing a lesser fighter than Aldo wreck Conor you just have to wonder what would have happened had the fight lasted past the first exchange. I cant believe there are fans who don't wonder about it and still cant accept that it may have been a once off.

Tying yourself up in knots there.

I just don't get the theory that another loss to Diaz would be a catastrophe. Gamebred said it ages ago. He loses to Nate at 170 again, big deal. 170 isn't for him. Beaten by a bigger guy, doesnt belong at 170 etc etc. Back to 145 to fight Aldo or Frankie.

Nate is really a 55er and that is his preferred destination too. Same place Conor wants to go. It will not be good if he is beaten again by Nate.

    Don't say that in here.

Conor beat them all Facts are Facts

Also add to that Mendes not having a camp meant nothing to the outcome of that fight to the fans, but Nate beating Conor meant that Conor didn't prepare in the proper way and now he needs and is entitled to a full uninterrupted camp.

I get that. But to be beaten by Nate at 170 is easily passed off. It's not the catastrophe people think it will be.

It's would be for McGregor I think as he believes he can beat him (So do I for the record). Not necessarily the end for McGregor by any means just a huge sucker punch that he could always recover from by going back to his weight.

Of course, anyone who says otherwise is mental.

If they meet again I'd imagine the odds will be pretty even and it would be a hard fight to call.

Conor did beat them though, that is a fact.

Mendes and Diaz didn't have full camps, Conor didn't know his opponents till very late. All of them were at a disadvantage compared to normal.

Mike Goldberg just said on the prelims, if Jones wins tonight, it's him vs. Cormier at 200.

That should put a definitive end to the "they're playing us all" conspiracy theories. Looks like Conor is 100% off the card.

Really surprised Conor didn't tweet after that one.

Probably only because him and JBJ are friends.

I was waiting on a 'Yeah, that'll save the 200 card'

I would imagine they stopped being friends after Jones gloating over him getting beat by Diaz.

    Not sure.

Jones only really responded to the P4P comment with a photo of him and DJ.

Pretty sure he was respectful apart from that?

I think I am rational when discussing,
There are a lot in here that aren't.
Say anything negative about Conor's wins and it's all excuses and facts.

Anyway it's good to see there are people in here that can see the full picture.
Also I'm hoping Aldo beats frankie and get the rematch against Conor and that will hopefully put an end to any doubt we have.

Oh and Conor doesn't train for a specific fighter in camp so no disadvantage there he said so himself Fact. :-)

What are you talking about. My theory on why this all might have gone down is because they bricked themselves after the reaction to the UFC 200 card when people were saying Conor should be defending his belt and how nobody cares about Diaz vs McGregor II. That they then concocted this turn of events so that they could get Jones onto UFC 200. So on the contrary, not only does it not put my (and possibly some other people's) theory to an end.. it actually solidifies them.

    Jose after getting beat:
“I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot,” Aldo wrote.

“My only exception would be fighting McGregor, at any time, anywhere. He is scared and knows that I'm gonna win. I wanna whoop ur ass anywhere.”

Yet then he turns down the chance at a rematch.

The guy is a weaselly little clown and I wish McGregor hadn't hit him with that shot, beat him comprehensibly instead, as then we wouldn't have to listen to him keep running his mouth or people that believe that he would have had a chance if he hadn't have been caught like that. I bet he went up to Dana whinging "I missed my sisters wedding, Dana, Conor should be here Dana, can I suck your.." The only reason Jose wants Conor again is so he can get a big pay day and for that reason I hope he never gets offerd a rematch again.

Why does any fighter want a shot at Conor other than to be paid? No one is doing it for the pride of their country or to get to Valhalla or to get back at ze Germans - it's a money game. Your vitriol towards Aldo is baffling.

All Conor does is talk about the millions he has made and has made for the UFC but there's no problem in that for you I assume? Double standards

You answered your own question there.

Conor is honest about fighting for the money, whereas Aldo is not. Also says he wants rematches and then ducks them when they are offered to him. He put out a tweet having a go at Conor for not being in Vegas and then Dana just so happens to mention during the presser that Aldo missed his sister's wedding. Guess who's been running to the teacher with apples. He's a sneak.

Jesus, nobody knows yet for sure, not us, not Conor, not the UFC.

100% not fighting at UFC200 though.

    Just sit tight and wait.

    A sneak haha.
I think FW champion of 6 years is well deserving of a rematch.
Didnt get the belt and run away either,
Many title defences spanning many years.
Up there with GSP , Anderson Silva.

    Grand.

Any theories yourself so on why John Kavanagh seems to suddenly have had a personality transplant with a 15-year-old Eminem fan?

John Kavanagh has acted childish on twitter before so he has some form in that regard. Remember that time he tweeted about some guy messaging his finacee? I wouldn't read too much into it. He can occasionally put up some cringeworthy stuff.

Or why Dana White keeps saying Conor was removed from the card one minute and then the next minute saying he has removed himself from the card?

Probably trying to deflect blame. Once again I wouldn't read too much into it.
Or why it was that Dana said Conor would fight for UFC before MSG despite Conor currently refusing to fulfill his promotional obligations for this fight?

I assume he's implying that if he misses 200 - which is looking likely - he will be expected to fight before MSG. The UFC pay his wages after all, if he refuses to fight then they can cut him from the roster.
Mostly though, any theories on why Dana seems so relaxed about it all.

Dana is always quite relaxed. He is the CEO of a multi million dollar organization, if he can't appear relaxed at press conferences during moments of crisis (I wouldn't even call it that to be honest) then he's in the wrong game.

In all fairness, I like Conor and hes a character, reminds me a lot of David Haye in his prime, but I cant understand why he should get preferential treatment over other guys, if he wanted to train which I understand aswell maybe he should have asked to fight in the next main event. I also wouldnt be surprised if this is UFCs way of getting attention, get the face of the company to go rogue, its very WWE :pac:

I guess he feels he makes way more money for the UFC than anyone else (which is true) and that he has done way more media than anyone else over the past 2 years or so (which is also true). And because of this he should be given more leeway on this occasion.

Even still the way the UFC is setup has always been that way, they knew this signing the contract, its seems a bit of a brat child move on his part. You take the extra money he earned aswell with the extra media, the money earned for UFC is definitely being over hyped, the sport was getting bigger before Conor joined in fairness. This is a side of Conor I dont like, if he didnt want the fight or didnt want to do the media, their was nothing stopping him waiting till the next event
