I can't see it, where did I compare them with a TT Quattro?

Funny how perception differs, I drove a sig a few weeks ago - think it's Sri spec anyway - factory lowered with 18s, awful yoke -, it had both power on and lift off understeer, On continental tyres too so wasn't the rubber at fault..

Insignia vs a tt quattro on backroads? they wouldn't have a hope in hell of staying with the audi.

Had Continentals on both my Insignia and Astra OPC when I bought them, caused exactly same issues. Once they were dropped for Yokohama and Vredsteins both cars were totally different.

That said my Siggy is an elite and would have the softer suspension and It does handle the roads decent enough in good normal conditions but I wouldnt be trying to rip up the roads Ari Vatanen style for sure.

Does their handling defy both their mass and their wheelbase, making them a virtual gokart round the twisty bits?

@ThisRegard, not our intention, nor is it within our control, as your aware road user's are only accountable for insuring their vehicle themselves.

Un-insured drivers were around long before we shared information on Facebook, and they had other means of getting off the hook then too!

Fake or invalid disc's will see you through most checkpoints, looking at your disc's is not going to tell a Garda any difference between insured, and un-insured.

Luckily, now a days, the checkpoint is not the only way these people can get caught. We would assume most of the un-insured drivers get caught with the reg-plate reading technology available to Gardai.

Anyway, for what it's worth, we primarily focus on speed vans & getting people to slow down.

    :)

I'm not saying your responsible for uninsured drivers, I was asking if you enable them to avoid detection, which if you alert users to checkpoints other than speed checks, you do.

What engine would those insignias have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 853 ✭✭✭edburg

Diesel most likely 160bhp engine maybe with added gardai umf if they do that to there cars.

Petrols had a 2.0 t or 2.8 v6 turbo, power on them varies from 200-300 and something bhp.

If you want american style policing kindly move to America, the day Gardai start carrying on like those over armed, under trained chancers is a sad day.

It would be another accident put down to speed, I can't think of anything else that causes/attributes to accidents.
