Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Clare purposely left out of that? Or did they just forget the county in which they have their primary rainfall radar again?

Wouldn't it be great if Met Éireann declared that the warning was a april fools joke and the weather tomorrow was actually 15-17c in clear skies and calm conditions :P

Well he said "warmer" than average .

It's not the drier sunnier weather that caused it though.

Getting out of bed this morning was a hard task.

I don't find today too bad, its been weeks or longer since we have gotten a washout day like today, although looking at the outlook I may not be so happy this time next week. At least the showers may be thundery, if it's gonna rain make it interesting.

April 2012 was horrible enough, I don't want this April to turn out like that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

Feels like we dodged a bullet today in east Galway ! Was expecting an absolute washout . Less than 10 mm since it started and 2.6 mm in one hour was the worst of it
    Thank god for small mercies
Now to hope for the same tomorrow

Dry down here in Clonakilty, was expecting rain but seems to be staying more easterly than the models were suggesting, thankfully.

8 degrees heavy persistent rain here thoroughly miserable. I'll say it again very little difference between our seasons.

Probably, but we excel in horribly negative attitudes at least.

The Faroe Islands. They're very rarely sunny and 10x more rare than our lack of heatwaves or droughts etc. Check out how dull they are.

    Unfollowing this thread, sorry.

There's some great users on here, but the doom and gloom of the few here just makes it miserable.

This is reflected on a national level too. Charts showing % of average rainfall for the year so far for the last few years. This year much wetter than last to date, but still not as wet as was the same period in 2014

Without the Winters, they wouldn't be that high (2014 and 2016)
