Air France have two A320s based in the Caribbean linking Martinique and Guadeloupe with Miami and also with Port au Prince in Haiti and Cayenne in French Guiana.

Iberia had a similar ‘hub’ down in MIA with a few based A319s IIRC

That's been happening for a while. French overseas territories count as the EU, apparently.

very windy here in South Dublin, I'm surprised to see that instead of following the standard missed approach procedure with a right hand turn, they actually made a left orbit, towards the mountains where all the rough air probably is at the moment

NAI doing JFK to the PTP etc never heard of a Euro airline doing that work.

BA do it in South Africa too. Linking South Africa with some islands off the coast.

That’s a local airline operating as a BA franchise though (Comair).

Air France’s Caribbean operation is their own.

could be lots of reasons but possibly maintaining separation from previous departing traffic.

Wind gusting to 46kts (Mean 34kts) in DUB, FR3105 (RYR1CN) AMS-DUB landed though!

However, wind out of limits for all Ryanair aircraft and all Ryanair aircraft now entering hold. EI495 (EIN45D) FAO-DUB commencing an approach.

It's been a fairly quiet night despite the winds. FR3979 (RYR91FT) MAD-DUB gone around due windshear.

    Heard him go overhead alright.

I think the peak winds were forecast to be 220 degrees which would have been a different story disruption wise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,488 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

They were, however today the forecast was from 260 degrees, and now they've settled out around 240-260.

EI3408/STK48D appears to be returning to Dublin. Looks like it was holding near Carrickfin but hold was too low for MLAT coverage in the area

FR905 from STN-ORK has diverted to SNN now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,422 ✭✭✭✭Oscar Bravo
