Yeah I know that but I’m suggesting operating a portion of your schedule but from an alternative airport to avoid just cancelling flights!

Do you know understand the massive logistics involved in what you are suggesting ?
Yeah I do, overnighting 4/5 aircraft that are usually based in Dublin in Shannon, and overnighting the necessary crews to operate them. Shannon is already a base for both EI and FR wouldn’t be that difficult and would mean less passengers cancelled and stranded in DUB, and less of a backlog to clear when things get up and running again.

Looks like the inbound Ethiopian is off to Shannon.

The weather is only getting worse tomorrow and Friday

Looks like they are clearing the runway now ahead of the big rush of arrivals and departures. Might work if there is not too much snow already accumulated.

    What about arrival's?

    All diverted so far.

I'd advise checking in the flight radar thread :)

Not looking good, unless you get several hours of a lull.

Flights starting to board in Dublin. Flights with the planes already here should be ok, be a knock on effect for anything else though

The DUB runway has been open for nearly two hours, but only 2 departures since then BCN & BRU, what is causing the departure delays?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

Snow warnings for the airports. 3-5 cm in general this afternoon/evening. Could be conservative.

All Ryanair flights to and from Dublin cancelled for the rest of the day

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,063 ✭✭✭✭Caranica

I'm due to fly with Ryanair to Edinburgh on Friday at 6.30 am on Friday. I have an easyJet flight from Edinburgh to Bristol on Saturday morning.

    Options:
    1. Accept I'm going nowhere this weekend
    2. Book the Aer Lingus 2.25pm to Edinburgh tomorrow and hope to get out before the worst happens tomorrow night
    3. Fly direct to Bristol on Saturday
    4. See 1 :(

I know nobody has a crystal ball but all thoughts welcome

Ryanair cancelling flights out of Amsterdam, no way for people to contact them. Not answering phones and online chat not available.

  • Registered Users Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Mebuntu

All Aer Lingus short haul cancelled for rest of day.

Edit: 12.25 Since I heard this earlier over ATC, two EI short hauls are departing.

I'm working away here listening to ATC and that came over the airways. I was already aware that FR has cancelled all flights out of/into DUB.
