NXT completely raided by Joe for a very nice womens division there - Bayley, Sasha, Emma & Becky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Ah wanted Bayley, Emma was a very nice bonus.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,956 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Bayley would have been my next pick if she was still there. Solid pick.

Its your fault I picked her Lord Asuka Grabber :)

Lord TSC: Dean Ambrose & Solomon Crowe, Umaga, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, Jeff Jarrett, Lucha Dragons, Asuka
Austin vs Ambrose = $$$$$. Throw in one of the best monster heels of the last 20 years in Umaga, the legendary Muta & the best of WWE lucha with Mysterio & the Dragons and this is a great roster. Be interesting to see who you get to face Asuka as the right opponent could easily be a semi-main event.

Mr.Nice Guy: Finn Balor, Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens, Edge , Stan Hansen, Ted Dibiase & IRS, Vader, Ryback & Curtis Axel, James Storm
Balor was actually the person I wanted most this year so eager to see what he does on Monday nights. Edge is a personal favourite but with a roster that stiff you could go in multiple directions and end up with an amazing card no matter what.

Bounty Hunter: Brock Lesnar, Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon, Daniel Bryan, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard, Chris Benoit (Trade), Ken Shamrock & Steve Blackman, American Alpha
Lesnar, Bryan & Benoit. Ridiculously awesome & any combination is a dream match. Unreal undercard too, be interesting to see how the new hotshots Gable & Jordan do going up against some of the most legitimate tough guys ever to step foot in the ring.

SlickRic: Samoa Joe, Misawa, HHH, Bam Bam Bigelow, the Road Warriors, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, Bruiser Brody, Magnum TA
Joe, Misawa, HHH & Bruiser Brody is an excellent mix of dream matches. I think your hardest decision is going to be which one to finish with  LoD vs The Wolves could be a great showcase of legends against one of the best teams today.

A Brad Maddox Guy: Kazuchika Okada, Brian Pillman, Batista, RVD, Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega, The Miz, Damien Sandow & Titus O'Neil
I think I should get a parachute because I'm great.

LeeJM: AJ Styles, Terry Gordy and Steve Williams, CM Punk, Sabu & Tazz, Matt Sydal and Riochet, James Mitchell, Diamond Dallas Page
Styles vs Punk would be amazeballs. Getting DDP so late was a fine piece of drafting. Anything with Sabu is going to be entertaining but throw in two great high fliers & 3 tough b******s and you've got a great undercard. Not sure how James Mitchell will fit in but I'm sure you've got a good idea.

Beakerjoe: Chris Hero & Cesaro, Ric Flair, Shinuke Nakamura, Young Bucks, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, Kerry Von Erich (Texas Tornado), Ethan Carter III, Emma & Bayley
Flair vs Cesaro or Nakamura are two more dreamland matches in the draft. Kerry Von Erich is a real "what could have been" wrestler. Fantastic women's division as well, you've made 4 great tag team picks.

Thebostoncrab: Kurt Angle, Rick Rude, Kenta & Kenta Kobashi, Bully Ray, Scott Steiner, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, Low Ki and THE Brian Kendrick, Bobby Roode
After last year's all female roster the pressure was on for you to replicate something great. You've only gone and bloody done it. I've genuinely no idea what your main event will be but if it's a Scott Steiner promo you'll be getting maximum points from this guy.

PTH2009: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Big Bossman, Sheamus, Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge, Rhyno, JBL, Neville, Bobby Lashley
An interesting roster that has a real hardcore feel to it. Owens is one of the hottest names going & can feud with anybody. Potentially great timing with Zayn being back in action now too. I'm a big Sheamus fan & your undercard is really hard-hitting, wouldn't fancy being Neville having to face those guys every week :P Also if Jay Hunter's about, does Bobby Lashley qualify as a "boy"? If so he's one of mine.

Paulie21: John Cena, Lou Thesz, Mick Foley, Mr Kennedy, Honkey Tonk Man & Greg Valentine, Kevin Nash aka Diesel, Sgt. Slaughter
A fun roster with lots of great character. You have the biggest star of modern wrestling in Cena, wrestling game changers in Foley & Nash & fun 80s characters in Honky Tonk & Slaughter. Interested in seeing what Kennedy does as he's another "what could have been". Also getting Nash so late is criminal really.

BrianRegan09: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr Perfect, Goldberg, Raven & Perry Saturn, Paul Heyman, Christopher Daniels & Frank Kazarian (Suicide), Apollo Crews
Another great mix, Tanahashi against Perfect would be an amazing match, Tanahashi against Goldberg would be an interesting clash of styles & a huge draw. Great wrestlers or characters in your undercard, Raven & Heyman will provide great promo material.

JP Liz: Roman Reigns, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith, Drew Galloway and Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness
It took me longer than I'm will to admit to realise you got Bulldog & his son, nevermind the potential Canada vs Britain feud. This is another roster that I can't figure out what will main event as there's probably 6 different matches I could envisage closing the show.

Cheese Wagstaff: Seth Rollins, Sean O' Haire, Ricky Dragon Steamboat, Shelton Benjamin & MVP, Mercury & Morrison, Jay Lethal & Xavier Woods, Mark Henry
Great mix of technical masters & high flying action. Henry will be an effective monster threat when faced with a generally smaller roster, should be a few interesting feuds in here. Sean O'Haire sticks out a bit but as you said he was your first choice that round I'm sure you've got something big planned.

Shagnastii: Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, Jesse Ventura, Demolition (Ax & Smash), Santino & Carlito
Safe to say if ever Sting, Warrior, Hogan, Ventura & Vince were in the same company in their prime then fireworks would fly. Interested to see if those backstage clashes can carry onto the big screen of Boards.ie. Santino is also one of the best comedy wrestlers there is.

Stereomaniac: Kofi Kingston & Big E, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, The Big Show, Iron shiek, Charlotte, Strong-Will Wrestling GroupDash & Dawson
2/3s of New Day & Sheiky Baby means you're going to have a lot of fun writing this roster. The serious wrestling machine Bret Hart verbally sparring with Kofi & Big E? Sign me up. Also am I right in thinking Strong-Will Wrestling Group is the name of your company & not the tag team?

Mrkiscool: The Undertaker, Fabulous Moolah, Jake The Snake Roberts, Sandman, Trish Stratus and Lita, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, The Vaudevillains
Crazy character galore in this roster. Undertaker & Jake is money, Sandman could wreak havoc anywhere & 2 good tag teams. Excellent women's matches in there too.

ImnottheHulk: Bray Wyatt, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T (trade), Dan Spivey (chosen as part of a tag team), Goldust & Stardust, Eric Rowan and Luke Harper, The Acsension : Konnor and Viktor, Nikitta Koloff
Wyatts vs Rhodes has great potential. You've also got plans for Dan Spivey which will be interesting. Booker T is great, if it wasn't for HHH I think he'd be going much earlier every year. Can you revive The Ascension?

Uncle Walt: Chris Jericho, Randy Savage, HBK, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Dynamite Kid, William Regal & Lance Storm, The Great Sasuke and Jushin Liger
I've already said it but I do think this is the strongest roster so far. Great mix of star power, promos & wrestling ability.

DM_7: Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero, Roddy Piper (trade), Alberto Del Rio, Mark & Jay the Briscoes, Austin Aries, Shane McMahon, Rusev
Crazy strong roster from top to bottom. Shane O'Mac has his work cut out for him handling that lot :P There's a few combinations you can go with for your main feuds which means you'll have a really strong semi-main. Even though you inherited the roster you've traded well & made it your own so kudos. Also Rusev is a steal at this stage.

Necrominus: Kane, Scott Hall, The Rock, Jeff Hardy, New Age Outlaws, Muhammad Hassan, Test & Albert
The Rock, Scott Hall & the New Age Outlaws is promo gold. Another that I'm unsure of the main event but Hassan can slot in anywhere. Attitude Era feel to it, multiple World Champions & arguably the best to never do it. Looking forward to seeing where you go with it.

Considering there's so many first-timers this year I'm really looking forward to seeing how the shows go. I think everyone is a wildcard this year, BH will have to pull out all the stops to keep his crown.

Cheers for feedback. For what it's worth I'll get mine up now shortly...

Lord TSC: Dean Ambrose & Solomon Crowe, Umaga, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, Jeff Jarrett, Lucha Dragons, Asuka
As has been said before, Ambrose and Austin is a dream match. Plenty of lucha talent on roster as well to make for an intriguing roster. Dying to know where Muta and Umaga slip into your plans, always been a fan of Umaga.

Mr.Nice Guy: Finn Balor, Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens, Edge , Stan Hansen, Ted Dibiase & IRS, Vader, Ryback & Curtis Axel, James Storm
Few options here for your main event, and from reading your past work I can imagine someone we least expect could be elevated. Looking forward to the intricacies of your storylines to see where everything fits this year.

Bounty Hunter: Brock Lesnar, Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon, Daniel Bryan, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard, Chris Benoit (Trade), Ken Shamrock & Steve Blackman, American Alpha
The defending champion, and a roster to terrify the new-comers like myself! With Lesnar, Bryan and Benoit on board along with Brainbusters, I can see it being hard to dethrone you this year.

SlickRic: Samoa Joe, Misawa, HHH, Bam Bam Bigelow, the Road Warriors, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, Bruiser Brody, Magnum TA
An intriguing mix of both up and coming (ish) and old talent... and HHH to boot. Hard to pick your main event from where I can see, and I'm definitely interested to see where Bam Bam fits into your plans.

A Brad Maddox Guy: Kazuchika Okada, Brian Pillman, Batista, RVD, Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega, The Miz, Damien Sandow & Titus O'Neil
Another I can't quite put a main event together for. Possibly Okada and Batista, but definitely plenty of options there. Miz-dow reunion on the cards perhaps also??

LeeJM: AJ Styles, Terry Gordy and Steve Williams, CM Punk, Sabu & Tazz, Matt Sydal and Riochet, James Mitchell, Diamond Dallas Page
A tailor made main event there with Styles and Punk, I'm intrigued as to whether that's the way you'll go or will there be a surprise or two??DDP being picked up so late, coupled with Tazz and Sabu gives plenty of room to make an excellent card.

Beakerjoe: Chris Hero & Cesaro, Ric Flair, Shinuke Nakamura, Young Bucks, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, Kerry Von Erich (Texas Tornado), Ethan Carter III
This is an exciting roster. So many options for main events, should be an action-packed card. Looking forward to seeing you bring it to life.

Thebostoncrab: Kurt Angle, Rick Rude, Kenta & Kenta Kobashi, Bully Ray, Scott Steiner, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, Low Ki and THE Brian Kendrick, Bobby Roode
Seems to be the recurring theme here, pack the roster with as many main event options to keep us all guessing. I love it!

PTH2009: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Big Bossman, Sheamus, Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge, Rhyno, JBL, Neville, Bobby Lashley
Very, very interesting. Nabbing Lashley so late is a great pick, and is an option to go straight into your main event. Lashley VS Owens would be a brutal war to watch. Real hardcore feel to the roster.

Paulie21: John Cena, Lou Thesz, Mick Foley, Mr Kennedy, Honkey Tonk Man & Greg Valentine, Kevin Nash aka Diesel, Sgt. Slaughter
I'm interested to see who you eventually put Cena up against. Diesel, Kennedy, Foley, Slaughter and even Lou Thesz all work in different scenarios. Nonetheless you have a quality undercard no matter who goes into the big match - assuming Cena goes into the main event of course.
BrianRegan09: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr Perfect, Goldberg, Raven & Perry Saturn, Paul Heyman, Christopher Daniels & Frank Kazarian (Suicide), Apollo Crews
One I just can't pick the main event for the life of me! Goldberg and Tanahashi/Perfect seems the obvious choice, but with Chris Daniels floating around in the background, who knows? The addition of Heyman is a big one, can be paired with easily 4 or 5 of your roster or of course be the authority figure.

JP Liz: Roman Reigns, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith, Drew Galloway and Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness
I can see why you mentioned you have problems slotting in Reigns. With the potential Canada/UK stable feud encompassing half of your picks already, I'm interested to see where himself and Ziggler fit in. Looking forward to it!

Cheese Wagstaff: Seth Rollins, Sean O' Haire, Ricky Dragon Steamboat, Shelton Benjamin & MVP, Mercury & Morrison, Jay Lethal & Xavier Woods, Mark Henry
Intrigued to see where you go with Sean O'Haire, there's obviously plans afoot there. Rollins matches up with almost anyone on the roster, so that's another big plus. Great options for tag team battles - and of course as singles stars.

Shagnastii: Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, Jesse Ventura, Demolition (Ax & Smash), Santino & Carlito
My personal favorite when it comes to the rosters. Stick these personalities together and watch the sparks fly!

Stereomaniac: Kofi Kingston & Big E, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, The Big Show, Iron shiek, Charlotte, Dash & Dawson
Another where the main event isn't quite so obvious. I expect the personalities of New Day and Shiek to collide at some point to make for some very good entertainment.

Mrkiscool: The Undertaker, Fabulous Moolah, Jake The Snake Roberts, Sandman, Trish Stratus and Lita, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, The Vaudevillains
Moolah, Trish and Lita on the same roster will be awesome. I assume your main event will be Taker vs Jake the Snake but the over-riding factor could very well prove to be Sandman. I'll be watching and entertained no matter what!

ImnottheHulk: Bray Wyatt, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T (trade), Dan Spivey (chosen as part of a tag team), Goldust & Stardust, Eric Rowan and Luke Harper, The Ascension : Konnor and Viktor, Nikitta Koloff
The Rhodes VS The Wyatts could very well be the feud of the draft. Well done in getting them all together.

Uncle Walt: Chris Jericho, Randy Savage, HBK, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Dynamite Kid, William Regal & Lance Storm, The Great Sasuke and Jushin Liger
What can I say that hasn't been said? With the exception of a very small handful, you've amassed arguably the finest selection of technical wrestlers that have ever laced up their boots. How it all fits together will be exciting to see unfold.

DM_7: Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero, Roddy Piper (trade), Alberto Del Rio, Mark & Jay the Briscoes, Austin Aries, Shane McMahon, Rusev
Another excellent roster, and definitely a dark horse in my opinion. Eddie, Orton, Del Rio, Aries and of course, Piper will all slot together in any number of combinations. With Shane to tie them all together, the key will be how you make it unfold.

Hopefully I didn't offend anyone, my knowledge of pro wrestling outside of the mainstream is limited to say the least. I'm being educated just by looking at posts on this forum on a daily basis!!!

They were picked as a pair last year as far as I can recall from my lurking days, can't remember whether there was a stip attached or not though..

    Im even more confused now

Last year iirc MNG said that she wrestled under the NWA banner, i'd have to search it out but I think it was something like NWA France and did check out plus now there is of course the precedent of that pick from last year.

a quick googling just now found this:

    ICWA/NWA Pro Euroresu 2 - Day 2
    2008/07/04 @ Paris, Île-de-France (France)
Sweet Saraya defeated Misaki Ohata [Tournoi Féminin, Semi Final]

    ICWA/NWA Pro Euroresu 2 - Day 3
    2008/07/05 @ Paris, Île-de-France (France)
Mariko Yoshida and Misaki Ohata defeated Sweet Saraya and Bulla Punk

    ICWA/NWA Pro Euroresu 2 - Day 4
    2008/07/06 @ Paris, Île-de-France (France)
Mariko Yoshida defeated Sweet Saraya [Tournoi Féminin, Final]

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭Uncle Walt

I'd imagine she also be eligible through Shimmer since its the "sister" promotion of ROH

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,724 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Thanks, that NWA rule is one I can never get my head around.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

It's the definition of a loophole (as I don't think NWA France or the like were what were in mind when it was made, more so the old school NWA) but then again we've always said that if you can find a loophole and take advantage of it you should be applauded for doing so. It's also just some damn good research

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭Uncle Walt

Its like when Fergal Devitt was questioned every year about being eligible but it was Global Impact appearance of all things that was the Loophole

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Yeah had that (Devitt) pick in mind when writing that last post too.

9 women already gone this round! If there are another few picks in the next few hours I might get to put up the next round order / stip today and as Walt is online atm and up next that is a possibility

edit: Had a feeling Walt might go with Malenko, great pick and will no doubt have a great match against whomever you pit him against from your roster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

The absolute smell of Fergal Devitt off MrKs latest pick (and by that I mean hes just about eligible...just)

Great pick. Zack is arguably the best wrestler in the world right now. If you dont know him then you really should

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Looked into Zack myself, apparently he actually wrestled one match with NJPW but yeah other than that (and I havent actually found what match that was) he just makes it via the NWA umbrella & Hammerlock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

I had him last year so the precedent was there anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

I dont think he was eligible last year perhaps, I think he went when the rules were dropped after round 11 , maybe im wrong

BH, with the next round bring the final bundy stip, are the remaining rounds also stip rounds of some kind?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,103 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Dang thought Val might sneak through to a later round, would be a good one to write for and could make for a very good mid-card storyline
    beakerjoe wrote: »

the other ones are planned to be stip rounds but ones that really will not limit your options when drafting at all.
