Loving the speed of the picks today. BMG defo has the pick of the day so far Omega and Ibushi is a cracking tag team. Still some massive names up for grabs. I think this round is when I'm gonna take a huge gamble on a tag team. They arent necessarily massive names but they are a team Im dying to write for. Id see it as a disaster if I dont get them.

Yeah wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of tag teams go this round. The way the stips fell I think most haven't got any after 4 rounds so now is their chance to get a good one early before they are snapped up. Especially if like Lee you really want a specific one. TBCs is smart too as he just got 2 great singles stars but if he wants he'd probably be able to add their tag partners in s much later round. Giving you options like that is actually one of the reasons I was surprised Scotty wasn't picked in the ECW round but I suppose bubba going no.20 shows the actual talent available in that round.

Unfortunately it's not as easy with some other teams TNA made harder to pick with their world title though but I guess if people really want those teams they'll have to start early on them.

The wait is slightly killing me.

While we wait I will admire this:
    Rosters thus far:

Lord TSC: Dean Ambrose & Solomon Crowe, Umaga, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio,

Mr.Nice Guy: Finn Balor, Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens, Edge , Stan Hansen, Ted Dibiase & IRS,

Bounty Hunter: Brock Lesnar, Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon, Daniel Bryan, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard,

SlickRic: Samoa Joe, Misawa, HHH, Bam Bam Bigelow,

A Brad Maddox Guy: Kazuchika Okada, Brian Pillman, Batista, RVD, Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega

LeeJM: AJ Styles, Ultimate Warrior, CM Punk, Sabu & Tazz

Beakerjoe: Chris Hero & Cesaro, Eddie Guerrero, Shinuke Nakamura, Young Bucks

Thebostoncrab: Kurt Angle, Rick Rude, Kenta & Kenta Kobashi, Bully Ray, Scott Steiner

PTH2009: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Big Bossman, Sheamus, Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge

Paulie21: John Cena, Lou Thesz, Mick Foley, Mr Kennedy, Honkey Tonk Man & Greg Valentine

BrianRegan09: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr Perfect, Goldberg, Raven & Perry Saturn,

JP Liz: Roman Reigns, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith, Dolph Ziggler, Christian

Cheese Wagstaff: Seth Rollins, Sean O' Haire, Ricky Dragon Steamboat, Shelton Benjamin & MVP

Shagnastii: Sting, Dr. Death Steve Williams & Terry Bam Bam Gordy, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon

Stereomaniac: Kofi Kingston & Big E, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, The Big Show,

Mrkiscool: The Undertaker, Fabulous Moolah, Jake The Snake Roberts, Sandman

ImnottheHulk: Bray Wyatt, Dusty Rhodes, Scott Hall & Dan Spivey, Goldust & Stardust (Rhodes Bros)

Uncle Walt: Chris Jericho, Randy Savage, HBK, Jerry "The King" Lawler,

DM_7: Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Ric Flair, Booker T,

Necrominus: Kane, Roddy Piper, The Rock, Jeff Hardy

Some awesome roster beginnings in there although it is hard to pick standout ones this early as imo they look generally around the same level and the ones that could be argued to be a little below were perhaps picked because they have specific plans in mind for the supposedly lesser names.

The addition of The Million Dollar Man def makes Monday Night Grappling look a lot stronger although oddly I actually had Stan Hansen & Dibiase down as 1 pick together but I guess MNG couldn't risk TBC taking them if he didn't choose Hansen in the ECW round.

Speaking of TBC if I had to pick someone's roster that stand out it might be him although he has had a pick more than most atm. Similarly A brad Maddox Guy has had an extra pick and his roster looks very strong with a very good mix on it.

Sting, Hogan & Vince together on one roster could be very interesting im so Shagnastii could be one to watch

I'll wait till later though before I giv proper thoughts on each roster

Just realised ImnottheHulk has the Rhodes Family all on one roster. Well played.

Had not noticed that gotta think with one pick he might have a huge main event and tag storyline set up right there. Could see some great promos on that roster if he wen that way.

Your own one on the other hand is quite curious some huge names but what you will do with them im not sure.

I think I have a plan in place but it could rely heavily on the next 2 rounds eek

I am avoiding making in depth plans. I had one that blew up already so no more until I have at least 10 people on the roster.

I'd be inclined to go with DM7 in some ways if you are so heavily relying on getting people in the next two rounds. Who knows you could draw no.1 in the pre 70s debut round and suddenly have another main event option for example.

That said looking at your roster atm:

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr Perfect, Goldberg, Raven & Perry Saturn,

Your offering Perfect around at first would suggest your thinking Tanahashi vs Goldberg so I suppose you need a guy to face Perfect although (him vs Tanahashi would be great) with the right build Raven could be that guy especially as he can be so good on the mic and could even have a flock backing him. Raven actually reminds me of Punk in many ways. That said if Raven was to be pushed as a main eventer maybe you would need to go for a tag team next and get in at least one big tag team name. Saturn is actually a great wrestler and a fun character so you could use him as a mid card singles wrestler but there is always the option to pick up one of his tag partners late in the game and using him as part of a tag team angle.

    He's already been taken.

Nope cos he has already been picked even if the gimmick the picker (Mrkiscool iirc) plans to use him has hasn't been specified,

Similarly I can't take Cactus Jack next as someone already has Mick Foley

I think what I like about my roster at the moment is any of them can be credibly built as a main eventer even Saturn I'm only 2 picks away anyway so I'm pretty confident my guy won't be taken and if he isn't my main event will be solidifyed the 2nd one i was referring to is sort of important but if I miss out he can be also be replaced....By the way on the subject of tag teams ...Do we have to have them ?

You don't have to have them at all but remember your building to a PPV to showcase your promotion at the end and its good to have variety on a PPV or within a promotion in general and a tag team title feud is a good way to go. If you have a different plan in mind why not try it out but as I've said I could see people start taking tag teams now as the change in the rd 4 stip and the stips in rd 1/2 have meant not as many have been taken as usual by this stage.

Dunno f I'd see Saturn in the main event myself but I do always remember BWA roster member Killer Kowalski talking him up as the most talented guy he had trained and he obviously trained people like HHH

Tension is getting real right now. Put this pick off to pick up Jake Roberts and it's so close now I can taste it. I'd be highly surprised if my first and second choices go though!

Sorry...never got a PM, I'll put a pick up within the hour.

Man, BH put an idea into my head yesterday and now it's all I've been able to think about all day. Problem is I cant guarantee I can even do the story for a few more rounds.

But I've been scripting the entire thing out, working out photoshops....God, I want to start writing...

No surprise to see LoD go in this round. Great pick by SlickRic. Im very torn right now on who to take next. My plans are changing daily as I see who is being picked and more importantly not picked. Still some massive names, former World champs up for grabs. Taz and Sabu are the only team I have drafted so far but wont be used as a team, so I think I need to look at what teams remain when my pick comes around.

Pretty chuffed with that pic if I do say so :D

Road Warriors lasted a long time I thought. I used them a few years back and found them a lot of fun to write for and plus they bring huge star power.

One of my 'plan B' options for the death round if things looked really tough was to draft Hawk and hope that I could get Animal later. I was concerned though that some might scupper the idea by drafting Animal and one of his later partners.
The addition of The Million Dollar Man def makes Monday Night Grappling look a lot stronger although oddly I actually had Stan Hansen & Dibiase down as 1 pick together but I guess MNG couldn't risk TBC taking them if he didn't choose Hansen in the ECW round.

Yeah there's a couple of players in the game who seem to have very similar picking strategies to me so I have to keep an eye out for these players whenever I check where I am in the draws.

    Road Warriors.

    I'm feeling lucky.

So, so many picks I could've happily made, but how could you not pick them?

You could almost build a promotion just on them.

A quality pick there. Can be a manager and/or GM. I didn't expect him to go so soon.

That's a blow to the reigning champ though as I'm sure BH wanted Heyman to pair up with Lesnar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

I was shocked when BH didn't draft Heyman in the ECW round, be interesting to see his reaction to that. Lesnar on his own is still amazing obviously but Heyman is usually the icing.

Absolutely over the moon. 3 of the best female wrestlers and 3 of the best in-ring psychologists of all time so far. 2 out of my 3 main events booked already, just need to get the undercard sorted which I think I can do easily enough :)

That is great tag team pick but I did think they might last until next round

Went with the Briscoes as I had them last year but never got to write for them, a mistake I have no intention of repeating.

Great pick as they can be really utilised in a number of ways

I had fun using Dynamite in my Dynamite King storyline last year. I'm looking forward to seeing who walt pits him against as there are several brilliant options for him on his roster.
