This rain belt is going nowhere fast.
Will still be raining in the south and east well into the aftnoon

I'm following the rain fall radar to see when the best time is to get out and walk the dogs. Don't mind the wind or the rain but not both.

rain has gotten heavy here in Naas and the temp has dropped suddenly from 12c down to 7c. Wind has strengthened from the N

The council is back pumping out my street here in dunmanway. It seems worse than last week.

    Bad luck.

Unfortunately your local weather station (Tullagh?) isn't recording the cumulative rainfall total, but I can tell you that here on the Mizen we've had over 31 mm since midnight and it's absolutely teeming down.

From the ME rainfall radar we are in a 0.5mm an hour belt (Coastal Waterford) and the river is 2ft below its point of flooding, we can take that all day everyday with no flooding. Nearly flooded last week but the rainfall must have been up around 2-4mm an hour and kept it up nearly all day.

It's places like west cork and kerry that are more at risk of flooding from this at the moment. Some models are showing an additional 80mm or more over highest ground there within the next 36 hours. With saturated ground that would create a fair amount of runoff into the streams and rivers I'd imagine.

Bandon gauge has already risen past the minor flooding level.

The past week has highlighted leaks in my house and garage that I never knew existed (Kildare). Latest leak above my windows, dripping nicely onto the inside sill.

This rain is worse then last week for me, it was bad leaving the house earlier, i absolutely dread going home now

Is there an official rain gauge in Galway city that I can look up?
Looking outside at existing floods, it doesn't look like we got much rain last night.

OK so rain has stopped here (Nr Dungarvan) and the rainfall radar gives the impression we might get a dry spell so its out for an hour with the dogs, but will be taking a full set of waterproofs.

Just seen this from Irish rail.

    https://twitter.com/IrishRail/status/675661721227403264

Trains still running through this area at a walking speed but I'd say they're at risk.

The university has one with data viewable at http://weather.nuigalway.ie/ , unfortunately you can only view live data, last 12 hour data or monthly data.

    http://www.theaa.ie/aa/aa-roadwatch.aspx

Useful for further flooded road information.

You can filter (no pun intended!!) the map results by clicking on thr flooding icon at the top of the map.

On map icons can be clicked for more detailed information.

Naturally it will only be as up to date as the information received by the AA, so all instances of flooded roads may not be listed. Regardless, its a good resource.

Another good resource is the National Roads Authority https://www.nratraffic.ie/

24.8mm of cold rain here and still falling. Currently 6.3C, a day to light the woodstove i think.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Met Eireann downgrading their rainfall warning to yellow in the south.
Could this be a mistake with it never due to clear the south!
Cork city could well flood at teatime this evening with high tide arriving

Bitterly cold here in West Clare, 3.7c, I was definitely expecting higher today.
