I would imagine losing one's child in similar circumstances to their mother is eerie and quite painful.

Incredibly tragic the two of them. Heroin addiction. Scary.

    I don't like Mondays?

    Incorrect :p

Well he hasn't really, his daughter was tough but Paula Yates was an ex-wife.
Plenty of people have had just as much grief in their lives.

That's incredibly harsh. Paula Yates was the mother of his kids. One of those kids is now dead. That's an unbelievable chunk of your life. Just because he's famous, you shouldn't be dismissing his grief.

Some contradictions I've noticed about myself this evening:
    - I think Bob is a good guy and I feel sorry what he's had to endure.
    - I find it hard to listen to Bob.
    - I also find it hard to listen to Bob's band.

Well just because you don't like a type of music/band, it does not mean they are rubbish.

For example Adele sold out today in 3 mins. I can't stand her music but appreciate she's very talented.

And just because you like them doesn't mean they are good

The quietness of the crowd, it's these moments on the Late Late, you know it's a good interview.

I think the best interviews sometimes is when the guest is just let talk. Bob seems a real humble guy.

yeah, even if you don't agree with him he is making interesting articulate points and speaking candidly about his personal experiences.

It's a million miles better than the usual "how bad did you feel after ((insert tragic incident here))?" interviews on this show where the guests appear to be (understandably) in a state of shock.

DLB just letting him talk. And guess what this is a good interview.

Well done Bob, you've managed to keep Tubbers quiet for the past 10mins, class guest!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭Vorenus400

I get the feeling that Tubs is trying not to interrupt with his questions as he usuaully does, but he still isnt asking a related follow up question either. He has no initiative or empathy to go with the flow. At least he has toy show to fall back on for next 12 months

I'm not dismissing it or being harsh, yes he's been through a tough time but so have lots of other people. Death is a sad fact of life unfortunately.

    I love his humanity.

The way his marriage went with paula I. E. She ran off with Michael hutchence. And he "doesn't regret a minute of it".

    What a man.
