Does the red button on bottom of openelec remote not record?

I had it in the title, it is an Enigma Remote.

You can set another button that's not being used on the remote to act as record. Ie say the red button.

    Go into settings
    User interface
    Button setup
Press the red button ( or What u want)
You can now select what u want that button to do.
Go into info bar and you'll find record in there.
    Select that and save.
And now that button will record for You

Just had to set yellow for audio settings myself ;-)

So Installed Sky Q v1.4 skin and got the Sky Q preview picons on the info bar working (temporarily) but extracting picon folder from .rar file to root/usr/share/enigma 2/sky q/

However when trying (& failing) to set up EPG picons I somehow seemed to have disabled the preview picons on the infobar.

I've checked the directory and all of the files are in the correct folder, any suggestions anyone?

Also, when using the EPG menu (as with the Slky HD) I cannot change channel, just get an error/restricted signal, is this a common issue?

My openelec wetek (DVB-S) is sitting in a cupboard - anyone interested? pm me

Only used once or twice to try an external DVB-T tuner (wetek box has the DVB-S dual tuner)

Was hoping to replace my terrestrial/sat combi box but never had the time to get it up and running properly.

So sorry to be blunt.. but rather than digging through all these pages, what's the latest guide on getting Live TV working with tvheadend in Kodi? Sky sub is up shortly so gonna go down the Freesat route with my Wetek box.

A quick search on YouTube gives something like this, which is probably close enough:

But if anyone else used a specific one, let me know,

Are you fixed on using Tvheadend? The seconds it took to change channels really got on my wick!

I think most people agree the PBnigma is the way to go for a smoother TV experience. You can then load up Kodi when you need it!

    Use Tommy's guide - http://forum.kodicommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=499&p=2458#p2458

At €89 it seems expensive for only have 1gb ram and 8gb storage.

As Allyall posted above, look here for better options - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057446012

No, not at all... was using WetekTheater and although very easy to set up and get viewing quickly, found Kodi very sluggish when launched from it!

    I'll give this a look.

PBnigma is great for TV, channels switch very quickly, but I've found recordings a problem. The fast-forward and rewind buttons don't work, and when I can get them to do so, it sometimes crashes the system. Also, system shuts itself off every two or three nights and I can't figure out why. I've tried a few different systems now and they all have their pros and cons. TVHeadend on OpenElec and LibreElec were best for reliable recording IMO and didn't crash, but the lag in switching channels can be a pain.

Fully agree, the playback of recordings is useless. I cant understand why they havent managed to improve it in two or three upgrades. It was woeful in Ver5.0 and is still woeful in Ver5.3

I find playing back the files from a laptop or android box can improve playback.

To be honest, I rarely watch Live TV so stable recordings would be a necessity.

Enigma2 is crap on the wetek in all honesty, it's buggy and unstable.

You'll be fixing it very couple of weeks.

they'd want to sort out sofware on the wetek play before they start selling newer models aswell,
its a joke at this stage that theres not a fully working stable image
theres something wrong with each new image/software

Have to agree the recording is the biggest weakness of pbnigma, to be honest if cancelling sky then your best to go on likes of world of satellite and get a decent box like an edison, xtrend, gigablue etc or similar with open box installed by default on it. The wetek play was never meant/designed to be used as an enigma 2 box which is why the images are still unstable.

I think one of my 1st posts on this thread was to advise not to use this as a replacement for a sky box, it's ok for a second room/bedroom but not suitable for a main room and I still stand by that ..

Having said all that I till like tinkering with it and discovering new things enigma2 boxes can do eg dream Plex or Kodidirect

Good advice that. I do use it as my main tv access point but I'd already ditched pay tv months before I got the Wetek, so wasn't losing anything by getting one. I am happy enough with just the free channels and recording is a bonus. Streaming through Plex was and still is my main source of entertainment.
I've learned loads from having bought this box and enjoy trying out new systems so have no regrets at all. I'd be confident enough now with any type of box I think. What do people think would be a step up from the Wetek?

go for a proper enigma2 reciever,
there are some very good reasonable offers at the moment,
edison os mini twin tuner available for about 130e, add hdd then,
xtrend et 10000 and 8500 are on offer for 199e then add a hdd,
    a solo2 250e plus hdd
just a few well established options
    there are many more

Just installed the Sky Q skin on PBnigma, am pretty impressed!

One issue, the aspect is off. All the image doesnt fit on the screen. Apparently this can be fixed by your TV remote. But the TV I have the Wetek hooked up to is an old Pioneer which has Wide and Full setting, nothing else.

Is there any setting under the Wetek setup that I can use to change the aspect? Like in Kodi you can decrease the zoom for the image to fit the screen.

    Thanks!

There will be a way to adjust it down on settings. To make it fit.
Will have look at half time ;-)

There's also another box, that is excellent, and takes all of the wetek images (and more). But I don't know what the story is with the "official" developers and the sellers.
Someone selling it on Adverts seems to have disappeared, but the ad is still up.
it seems to be ipremium/avov/mickyop/mediamagic rebranded by whoever has it.
The version I have is from Russia and all of the updates come in once a month.
Mine says (what looks like) npemNR.
But I can't find much information. It has pretty good options on it and has tuners on it.

I think it's because I can't search for the Russian word (I don't know how to get the exact symbols on my keyboard), and there's no website URL on any of the packaging.
I've tried yandex, Google, rembler.ru etc..

It seems to be the exact same box as the Avov Vixo Fuse (With the additional tuners) and the iPremium i9STC though.

I've found a few forums and sideloaded a few apps. I have it dual booting with LibreELEC and I also had PBNigma and others in one form or another on it, but their own one is fairly good anyway.

The only thing that was a bit of a pain was getting the EPG on the DVB-S2.
But apparently they are going to update that in one of the next updates, so that will also be automatic.

Hi guys, I updated to pbnigma 5.3 and when searching for channels its now only picking up about 200 channels. From what I remember there is appox 900 channels. Any ideas?

Just to add we had builders doing work on the house and I fear they may have moved the dish slightly. Is there any way to check this? I know there is a signal finder on the box but not shure what the snr & agc levels should be at.

This isn't specifically related to the Wetek but this issue I'm having with TvHeadend is driving me nuts!

Had my bouquet set up in TvHeadend and it takes me a bit of time to remove the few duplicates it tends to leave (as well as a few station it misses) - about 200 channels now - but I've got the Wetek downstairs which is fine, but I've got an AppleTV2 upstairs set up to connect to it running on the Wetek but it seems to do some sort of a scan on startup and resets all my channels on TvHeadend (<1000 channels). Both Kodi on the Wetek and ATV2 are set up identical with regards TV - set not to synchronise channels from backend but set to synchronise channel numbers etc.

Anyone got any thoughts? Going mad with it!
