    Didn't see the goal, seen the reaction here & the FPL Twitter update.. headed clear by Lescott...

    My understanding was if the ball was cleared out of the box and the next player scored direct, no assist.

    If the ball didn't clear the box and the next player scored direct, assist given to last player who touched it on the scoring team..

    Did the ball clear the box?

    Didn't leave the box so technically he should get it but tbh it's a riduculous rule. Anyone can see that it wasn't a rose assist

    Rule hasn't changed. The assist will stand. It has been the rule far back as I can remember.

    It is similar to when a player shoots and the ball is blocked by a defender (must leave penalty area) and the next player scores direct an assist will be given

    Spurs have no interest in scoring more.

    2 or 3 chances of counter attacks and they just pass it backwards every time.

    Also, nothing Kane is doing is coming off anyway.

    Assists

    Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the final pass before a goal is scored. An assist is awarded whether the pass was intentional (that it actually creates the chance) or unintentional (that the player had to dribble the ball or an inadvertent touch or shot created the chance).

    If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded.

    Rose crossed, Lescott headed out altering the intended destination of ball??

    This is the result of Spurs' arrogance for over an hour.
