Omelette Arnold Bennett:confused: That could stump them.

I like Alex. He didn't panic when his sauce split.

Yayy! Made it home in time for most of the show.

    What have I missed?

Didn't miss this fella throwing eggs and beaters all around the kitchen

What's with all the "relatively new" chefs in this series? (aka only started last week, by the looks of things)

Surely if you were going to put yourself forward for MC (the PROFESSIONALS) you'd want to be fairly sure of yourself?

    No?

I always assumed Brandy Snaps had brandy in them. I learned something tonight.

    Andy did well there.

I hate these skills tests. Always feel so nervous for them!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,185 ✭✭✭Snoopy1

It's amazing how nervous they get on the skills test

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,185 ✭✭✭Snoopy1

Are those brandy snaps the wrong colour?

Yep - no sugar in 'em (not that I could've told you that before Monica told us :D)

Nick sounded like he might have been setting himself up for a fall..... or am I just gone fatally cynical about the editing these days?

This guy Ids Michelin trained. How is that fair going against a cafe owner or the other chefs

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,073 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Oooh a girlie.

How did she get on in the skills test? She was obviously on before I got home.....

She messed up. Didn't make the omelette right

Is Lee in the army by any chance?

Those veggies were lined up with military precision!

How can an omelette be "out of my comfort zone" Even I can cook an omelette! (although possibly not an omelette Arnold Bennett, mind you.....)

Uh oh, more raw duck???

    ETA - I stand corrected!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,595 ✭✭✭Meauldsegosha

That duck is too pink for me.

I bet it'll wow them all!

I've definitely heard of beetroot in brownies before, although not pickled.....

    Higher standard of chef tonight.

I think it's unfair to have a Michelin chef in there, and I think he is cocky.
    I don't like him

Is he the big bald guy? Can't warm to him either.

Although I think it's more appropriate to have a chef from a Michelin restaurant on this series than someone who has started in a cafe last week and has never done pastry.

Girlie has messed up again. And that's terrible plating for the dish IMO.

Not liking Nick either. Can't believe he is only 26 looks more like 36.

    Glad Alex stayed.

So tomorrow is the quarter final. Does this mean that next week it's another round then quarterfinal again?

    Yup.

Rinse and repeat for about eight weeks, if memory of the previous series serves.

Haven't read any posts about Wednesday's episode and just had a fast run- through now.

Thought the chefs look a lot better than Tuesday's crowd- so I would be expecting them to do well in tonight's QF

( Kiss of death for them then:pac::pac:)

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,073 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Tough first test!!!

Where the f*** would you fit chocolate in with any of the other nine ingredients:confused:

    I expect to be amazed!

Nick seems to be in pole position
