In changing rooms, it annoys me when people don't put a lock on the locker they are currently using...

I went to about eight lockers in a row yesterday before I found one that wasn't secretly in use. I seriously just want to start throwing their stuff on the floor.

I'm always tempted to leave the doors open, in my mind they'll come back and be freaked that something is missing.

Pity the folks at Rockdale Fitness First in Sydney.  Local motor bike gang leader and his gang go there.  Bike gangs make ice and frequently fight with rival gangs for territory etc.  Once they fought it out at this gym, using benches as weapons.  Benches bolted to the floor after that.  Gang members regularly turn up, park outside the front door (just wherever they want to park - not in parking spaces) jump over the counter and workout whenever they like.  No one will say boo to them because they're gang members with guns.  Last week  the gang leader was murdered outside the gym!

Don’t get me started on gang members. If they’re not shooting people they’re leaving their towels on benches and racks they don’t use for hours.

Plus they walk around naked with their towel on their arms like a posh waiter.

    Something i usually do.

If im squatting i want to make sure i have my belt and shoes in one place, rather than carrying a load of stuff to the gym floor.

Same when im deadlifting with chalk, belt, water etc.

Why would someone walk 20 yards from the showers to their locker fully naked but carrying their towel on their arm like a waiter?

    I like to air dry.

Ah I dunno, when I'm looking for a locker I just assume the ones that are closed with no lock on it are being used by an aforementioned non-locker. I don't get annoyed by it anymore...I more pity these people leaving their stuff ripe to be stolen.

But what if they're all closed?

    Because they're a naked waiter?

Then they're all most likely being used? I don't know, do people close lockers over after they empty them?

All locker doors should be kept closed, whether empty or full.

No one likes smacking their head off an open locker door!

In my gym you have to, there are signs up requesting that you do, I assume so that nobody gets a locker door to the face if they walk into it

This has happened me more times than I would like - including hitting it off my own locker door :o

once had to wear a swim cap in a pool, can't remember where. I've a shaved head! I mean totally shaved!
I also wear cap in the pool. And I also have a shaved head. The funny thing is; I've a good sized neck beard! :pac:

Towel is wet, they are dry. Why would they wrap themselves in a wet towel?

A new annoying gym behaviour I witnessed; "holding" a piece of gym equipment with your towel (so others know that it's in use), whilst you use other equipment. Thus, you'll be taking up at least two pieces of gym equipment (in this case, four)!

You could take the towel off and use the equipment if you knew for sure they were using other stuff. Etiquette says that even if they are using just that, they should let you work in with them if need be (though a lot, myself included, don’t like doing that and will work around), so they don’t have a leg to stand on if you can stomach the ensuing argument. Even at that, unless they’re a scumbag/gangster (and apparently there’s a lot of them going around gyms these days), their argument will be huffing and puffing. I’d just cut them off at the beginning and be like “You’re welcome to work in if you want man!” Most likely they’ll storm off and throw you filthies for the rest of your session. Just don’t go to failure on anything and walk around with the stride of pride.

One I thought of writing that actually, a Hall of Famer because, for as annoying as it was, it was also kinda genius:

Training on a busy night in a Flyefit, so machines were at a premium and it was queues everywhere. I think it was the leg raise, but two Brazilian identical twin lads were on it and I had no time to wait around so told them I’d be working in. They weren’t happy at all but I didn’t give them a choice either. So I checked my phone while I waited until I realised I’d been waiting ages and they were changing back and forth multiple times and I hadn’t noticed because they looked the exact same! After my first set the cheeky ****ers tried it again! I stopped them that time and they laughed, I had to laugh at the brazenness too to be fair.

If you're certain they're away using other equipment then remove the towel and work away, its that simple.

But expect a row, if you don't like confrontation don't do it. But I don't mind it :D

Its just a pure ignorant and inconsiderate thing to do.

Loud grunting/screaming when you aren't lifting heavy
    Not re-racking/un-racking weights
    Not wiping down your machine

Define heavy, its a relative thing

From what I've seen it's a weight they can pick up and position themselves easily with yet grunt and grown through each rep.

Also seem to have plenty left in the tank when putting the weight down ???
    Just an observation tho.

Yeah. I thought I was great when I benched AC/DC. Then a guy who could bench Motörhead kicked sand in my face.

People who treat the changing room like their bedroom and leave clothes etc flung all over the place while they go shower.
