Pure and utter space cadette living in denial delusional nonsense.

No nonsense, all fact. Now, can we get back to discussing the championship instead of turning this into yet another anti-Dublin thread? I originally posted a post covering the championship, and yet just one element of it was picked up on and it turned the thread. So come on people, forget the anti-Dublin stuff and tell us what do you think of the draws as made on Thursday night? Who'll win the Connacht Football Championship? Who could be the surprise packet in the Munster Hurling Championship? What upsets can you see from the definitive matches that have been drawn? Are Donegal finished? How will the new Cork hurlers management do? Who will be the guests along with the usual suspects in the football quarter finals? Can anyone stop Kilkenny? Will Derry again flatter to deceive? Come on people, what do you think?

I am not offended. I just want to know what people think of the draws. That is what the whole thread was meant to be about. Some people wanted to bring the thread elsewhere, not me. Anyway, some interesting fixtures to look forward to, as always. Plenty to digest in the meantime too, with club and league stuff. We've a trip to Nowlan Park on the 20th of March, so next summer won't be our first visit of the year. A lot to look forward to. It's great being a GAA fan. :)

Ok, on that basis, any match that Dublin play in Ireland is a home game. We can extend that to Europe and to planet Earth too if you like. On that basis too we can say that all counties in Ireland should be happy to play in Croke Park as it is a home game for them. Ok, that is being a bit silly. A bit like saying a ground that is not Parnell Park is Dublin's home ground. Anyway, this thread is meant to be about the championship draw, so let's get it back on topic. So, Dublin should win in Nowlan Park. What do you think?

Not any match in Ireland, any match in Dublin.

When Dublin play in Dublin they are at home. When Dublin play outside of Dublin it is not a home game.

When Ireland play in Ireland, anywhere in Ireland it is a home game. When they play outside of Ireland it is an away game.

A and B in football look to be something like this

    A
Sligo, Letrim, Roscommon,Derry, Tyrone, Cavan, Armagh, Laois, Wicklow, Louth, Carlow, Dublin, Meath, Kerry, Clare*, Limerick*.

    B
Galway, Mayo, London, Fermanagh, Antrim, Monaghan, Down, Donegal, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Kildare, Tipp*, Waterford*

Once again the B side looks tougher.

In the A side its unlikely to see Tyrone, Kerry or Dublin lose before their provincial finals where as with the B two of Galway,Mayo, Monaghan or Donegal will have to pay 3 rounds of qualifiers, add to that the decent enough teams like Fermanagh and Tipp*, or maybe even Cork.

The interesting thing is where will the provincial losers go, A or B and who the provincial champs play, A or B

*- Not sure about Munster QFs, they star one side on the draw (top/bottom) but swap then for the SF

    2016 GAA Championship fixtures revealed
    http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/2015/1015/735132-gaa-championship-draw-2016/

According to the master fixture list (can't attach, on phone) its
Munster and Connacht loser v A, Ulster and Leinster loser v B

    Then
    Bank Holiday weekend
    Munster v A side qualifier
    Connacht v A side qualifier

    The following Saturday
    Ulster v B side qualifier
    Leinster v B side qualifier

Again the A looks easier tan the B if you assume Kerry, Dublin and Tyrone will not lose before their provincial final.

Interesting matchup could be Crok v Mayo in a QF or Dublin v Donegal/Tyrone/Monaghan in a QF.
