If the England/Wales commentator was a Top 40 DJ, this guy doing Aus-Uru seems to be a golf commentator. Makes me want to go back to sleep.

I quite like him, too many commentators do the Ryle Nugent pretending to be excited act

Even Shane Byrne was mocking the TV analysis there.

At one point I think they called Uruguay Argentina, and they were waxing lyrical about what a great ref Peyper is!

I don't mind Nugent commentating. There, I said it.

Murray beside Sinead gives me a giggle every time.

They should give her a box to stand on. This is very silly looking...

the commentator last night (Eng vs Wal) was a complete utter tool.
some of the small talk he was making took 'cringe' onto a whole new level

I've heard that Chris Robshaw poster fight story a few times today and it's still funny.

Bit annoying they're switching channels at half time for the Scotland match to do Ireland build up especially when they've just spent 10 minutes doing buildup to the Ireland game now.

Only realised they're doing that again when you posted it. It's ridiculous. Over an hour build up to the Romanian game is ott.

I think they've got another Schmidt interview to show but yeah, they've pretty much discussed all there is to discuss there before the break.

Seems to be back to native HD for this Scotland game - marked improvement from the Australia game.

Pretty sure I heard him say something like "he changed his mind at the last minute.com there" at one stage last night.

    :confused::(:mad:

Yep. I think it was when Biggar tried the drop goal he said that's a lastminute.com decision.

Been watching most of it on ITV. Home for weekend where folks have had it mostly on TV3, when I heard they were switching channels at half time quickly turned over.

Experiencing their coverage yesterday and so far today, would expect allot of that hour build up to be adverts anyway.

True, a lot of ads. Pain though as I've gone out for lunch and have to set 3 different recordings in order to record the Scotland and Ireland game.

This is it. They're moving the second half of an actual match to 3e and doing a ridiculously long build up to the Ireland game because they can put on as many ads as they want in the middle of a build up but you can't interrupt a match to have an ad break on this side of the Atlantic.

Funny since this Scotland/USA game is actually a good watch whereas no one really cares about the build up and I'd say very few will watch it.

Precisely what I was thinking. Got to make their money somehow.

The other one. Might be Dave Lee Travis.

Picture quality on 3e borders un-watchable for live sport...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,783 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Ridiculous decision to do an hour build up to an Ireland game whilst a game is on and a potential shock.

3e is not HD so switched to ITV HD on other channel via Sky box.

Would imagine many would do the same as they prefer t watch the actual sport rather than watch people pontificate on it.

Exactly, why the need to see a few lads waffling in HD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,203 ✭✭✭✭hmmm

Bloody hell I didn't realise the second half was on 3e. I was sitting here fuming and wondering why I was looking at some soft-focus interviews with who-ever they could drag up to talk about handbags or puppies or whatever, instead of the match.

Was doing a few things while it was half time and eventually noticed it was the longest half-time ever and the game wasn't coming back. Can't believe I have to watch the second half on a stream so they can talk an hour of **** before we play Romania
