TV3 RWC coverage

Yesterday's coverage was much improved from the weekend. The sound during the anthems is the only thing that's annoying me now which isn't really that big a deal. Hopefully the improvement wasn't a midweek fluke.

I was thinking that the ad breaks changes might just have been a midweek thing because the audience would have been much lower (for the first two games certainly), but let's hope it'll be permanent.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Anyone watching ITV know if they had a reduction in adverts yesterday?

Even with the 3 Player app you weren't forced to watch an ad every time you loaded a stream like you did the weekend.

What is it with you and TV3? All your posts are completely negative towards them? Why don't you just watch on ITV if you don't like it?? I really don't get it. I don't have TV3 HD, so watch the game on ITV HD, why don't you do the same..?

I actually flicked between ITV and TV3 last night at half time and they both had the exact same amount of breaks, food for thought
I do watch ITV HD! It's funny you give out about people being negative but the fact that people like us raise issues are the reason that TV3 have actually drastically improved since last weekend.

TV3 deserve credit when credit is due but also be judged like RTÉ and other broadcasters standards too. Last weekend was of an extremely poor broadcasting standard and countless people here all called it right. I actually don't mind TV3's studio analysis and I don't think I ever said anything negative about it..

The fact that TV3 did not update their EPG data with sky all day yesterday was incredibly amateurish. It left people recording 3e and missing the game. You would not see a main British broadcaster doing this!

How do you know that's the reason it's improved since the weekend? As someone else said, it's probably just more to do with the production team getting bedded in and any issues having being ironed out.
I don't mind people complaining for valid reasons but some of the stuff on here has been just petty.

Did anyone actually ask TV3 why the epg didn't get updated? Afaik, the broadcasters don't have the ability to actually update the epg themselves but they all rely on a third party to update it. I'm guessing it was a late call (but the correct one imo) to change the coverage to TV3 instead of 3e last night.

Anyway back on topic, I think bar Matt Cooper just being one dimensional with his questioning and the fact that it's not in HD on saorview, the coverage has been quite good.

One thing I will say, the lack of George Hook has immensely improved my viewing experience compared to the Six Nations.

It is a valid complaint in a thread about TV3 RWC coverage. If it looks awful then why can people not say it?

Paloma Faith's snippets of screeched world in union might be enough to push me from ITV to the fuzzy lowest-of-the-low-definition that is TV3

You're not the only one sick of Paloma, it seems.

I hadn't heard it either until I saw that article. What were they thinking. Chris Robshaw's girlfriend is a decent singer, surprised they didn't get her to do it.

Watched Ireland Canada again last night...

TV3 would be spot on in my opinion were it not for McManamara. I will not be watching another game with him commentating.

When he's not there to do his Harvey Norman impressions; I'll watch TV3. Otherwise it's ITV.

What sort of a bellend engineers his voice to sound like that?

If it does turn out to be on 3e then its not just a farce but just embarrassing stuff for a broadcaster in 2015.

could understand it if it was georgia v tonga or a game like that. But it is NZ. No matter what they are a big draw.

Its very strange that they haven't corrected the "HD" logo... its just completely in the middle of nowhere.
"HD" logo now fixed to a more appropriate place and now looks fine... I swear TV3 must be reading this thread :)
