Boom! O-line doing well, being supplemented with multiple TE's but still. Carlos Hyde doing great things.

The spin! Sweet! Hyde for 6... Finally

Eh, wrong way round. Lions went 4-0 in the preseason before going winless during the regular season.

Credit the Falcons tonight though. Just managed to scrape the win.

    Typo/brainfart, that's what I meant to say. :o

Caught up with both games now. Julio Jones is amazing. Eagles had no answer for him.

It looks a narrow victory on paper but in reality I really wasn't impressed with the Eagles all round play. Very sloppy.

Falcons weren't much better in truth but they stepped up when it really counted.

Not much to say about the 49ers/Vikings game other than Vikes look devoid of anything, the 49ers new jerseys are horrible and Kapernick is a joy to watch when he's firing on all cylinders.

I am not looking forward to playing Falcons next week, but the saving grace is our corners are fairly solid. Thankfully Atlanta don't really have a TE to exploit our rookie, and somewhat mediocre MLB, Unga, or even Collins at Safety.

Falcons D really looked impressive last night, from what I saw, which is honestly amazing. They were worse than the Giants last year. Hopefully they can still be exploited.

Julio Jones is an All Pro when fully fit.

Must catch up on the Vikings - 9ers game later on. Surprised to see Vikings with only 3 points, when I checked the score!

The call to tell Jennings not to score came from Eli, not TC. Eli thought Dallas had a timeout less than they did, and wanted to wind the clock right down, thinking Giants would just keep running it.

He was only corrected with regards to the timeout being given back to Dallas during that penalty before the 3rd down play, when they went to pass it. Probably explains then why he panicked a bit and threw it instead of taking the sack. He knew they had already fecked up, but he just went and made things worse.

Bizarre scenario, in all honesty. Its not something I ever expected from Eli or TC, despite the flaws that both may have.

I've watched all games bar 2 (god bless gamepass). A few quick takeaways.

-San Fran better than the "experts" expected with a core of very good players still there. The Vikings a hell of a lot worse. Their line play on either end was just awful.
-Very impressed by the Falcons. Early favourite for the south.
    -Raiders were very disappointing.
-Denver defence looks awesome but the loss of Kubiak looks bad for Baltimore. Trestman had a bad day.
-Rams d-line is preposterous. Donald is insanely good.
-Colts aren't contending for anything. Such a poorly assembled roster.
-KC look very decent, could easily win that division.
-Lions are still tragic. What a total collapse. Ngata looks done.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Ridiculous having Donald and Quinn on the same Dline.

Colts have too many issues for me, and a though schedule. I thought Texans would take the division, but the QB situation is just too bad. Titans have a legitimate shot.

Dont discount Luck, but i do think this could be a very good year for the Titans.

Texans have a lot of talent but with no QB and Foster out for a while hard to see them do anything but i'd expect them to make a late run once he's back

49ers did look good yes but as you say, Vikings were awful last night. Only time will tell with SF but they'll have much better opposition in the next couple of weeks. Steelers, Cards and Packers in the next three weeks will tell us a lot more methinks.

Didn't like the look of Teddy at all last night. Thought he was very poor along with the rest of the Vikings. Carlos Hyde looks phenomenal.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,112 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

On San Francisco, yes the opposition were poor, but before the game no one was saying the Vikings were terrible so we will just have to wait and see on that.

Hyde looked great, think he's going to be a great running back.
The Left side of the line will be fine, the right side will continue to cause problems
Kaepernick looked good, wasn't panicked in the pocket like before, also seemed to go through his progressions. Ran when appropriate but also passed once even when he could have picked up a first on the ground. Showed good presence in general.
Aaron Lynch looked very good, hopefully something of a pass rush will emerge.
Mangini called a very good defensive game, well disguised blitzes, 5 QB sacks I think.
Brock looked very good too, back to his 2013 self after missing most of last year.
Bowman looked good, made some nice plays.
    Held Peterson to 3.1 YPC.

Not so good, Davis still looks slow, dropped one very easy catch but came back with 2 nice catches after that.
Torrey Smith wasn't really involved much, 1 catch I think.
Hayne fumbled a punt then was taken off the punt returns.
Kaepernick, while much improved still had a few very inaccurate passes while under no pressure.

Overall very pleased but time will tell how good or bad the Vikings turn out to be. For the moment Seattle are bottom of the divison so you'd be happy with that state of affairs.

Not expecting much from the trip to Pittsburgh if I'm honest.

    11-5 on the predictions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭Magico Gonzalez

Vikings O Line was bad, as predicted. The run defense was grim too. Surprised by the poor play calling after blocked kicked. Got to give that ball to Peterson or run it somehow, 3 blown passes and out was weird and awful.

Clemmings was the fool who "blocked" TB when he was scrambling,...and that's why we will miss Loadholt. Everything more or less needs a lot of work except Special teams outside of kicking, which also sucks.

Lots of hype bought and believed unwisely. We will face better DLs than SF, no disrespect and if we play like that it will be bad on a biblical scale.

A whole lot of last minute coin-flipping went on in the making of these predictions. :o

The coin flip failed early, but came up (kinda) good in the end. :o

Had the Rams for the underdog call. :D

My God, Kelce on that Murray rushing TD. Insane!

The ball isn't even set in Bradford's hands, and he's already on the back of the RG and tearing around to hit the next level.

Bucs! Vikes! Jags! What was I thinking?

Thrilled with the Bills and Bengals. Have backed them both for AFC. Onwards and upwards.

It's great to have ball back.

Dissapointed with the Steelers loss because I thought the Pats secondary was poor on the night. Unfortunately, Brady had to go and have a perfect game and scuppered any chance of a win.:(

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Steeler's loss was also partially due to them forgetting to mark one of their opponent's star receivers on multiple different plays. This alone says they didn't deserve to win in my opinion, at least the Pats attempted to mark Brown.

Being wrong footed on some plays with the Pats super fast hurry up, was the reason ideal coverage wasn't in place in time. And that happens to most teams when they do it against them. But we still had our chances to win and Ben just wasn't efficient as his rival was when it mattered most.
