It's so. You didn't drink there often enough.

It wasn't often enough if they've had to close and you didn't know about it :D

For all of the final week the staff would stand at the window each evening, peering out and telling each other Redsoxfan would be here soon and everything was going to be OK.

Does that mean the Nepalese restaurant is also closed?

I think so judging by the front of the place...

Edit... Just heard the restaurant is still open....

One less place to go to that I never really wanted to anyway. Hit 220 of the just about 1000 public licences in Dublin last week and a good 50 of the rest are actively licenced but closed

The Underdog is opening in the next couple of weeks, under Brogan's on Dame Street. Run by Barry who used to manage The Norseman and Paddy who was manager of Against the Grain. Should be a good one.

Do you mean literally under Brogan's, or will it be in Brogan's?

Bolands in Stillorgan was sold last week. Anyone know who bought it?

Not often you quote yourself with the answer. One of the lads who bought it, is involved with Cairn Homes, who also bought that land off RTE.

Another one. Who bought The Marble Arch?

Robert Reades renamed to Ryan's and seems to be using its early licence that I assumed was gone again

    What are the opening hours?

Opening 0830 for the Lions games. Don't appear to be using it otherwise

I was under the impression it was a (mostly) all or nothing thing to have the early licence; not selective use. Although Molloys on Talbot Street was closed for quite some time and still says it opens at 0700

Unless things have changed, you only need to open one day a year to keep the licence alive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72,843 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Plenty of active licences thst haven't opened in tears including some that would be unsafe to have people in (derelict buildings). Revenue changed the rules heavily in the early 2000s probably preparing for the new regime that never happened (cafe bars etc); may have altered the rules then

The Dalkey Duck has opened in.....Dalkey this weekend. It was MacDonaghs which wasn't up to much but had a nice beer garden.
    http://thedalkeyduck.ie/
Had a look in on Sunday evening, not much in the way of Craft beer, Wicklow Wolf Elevate I think was the height of it with a few crafty others, think a Franciscan Well tap.
Had been hoping it might be more like Bourkes pub in Whelans. Will probably still head to the Magpie for my draught craft needs.

they have their own website, facebook, instagram & twitter and nowhere can you see a fecking list of drinks, let alone prices. WTF is wrong with these businesses, loads of photos up too, this is the one of the bar, you'd swear it's done on purpose

There was a new camile thai takeaway open near me, again loads of photos, and a video of some girl juggling, you can barely see but there was a sign behind her saying there was some lunch special, but no sign of what it was anywhere else.

    Idiots...

You can't even see what most of the taps are, which is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah, that's what I meant by "you'd swear its on purpose", it so bad it may as well be pixellated!

Not a pub but an O'Briens (Superstore)Off Licence in Blanchardstown.

Popped in to have a look and walked out after a 5 min look around.
Great wine selection it seems and not bad for spirits either but beer selection is terrible.

O'Haras Brewpub in the CHQ building in the IFSC seems to be under construction. Was announced back in January

Two new craft beer pubs opening just weeks after one closed down is encouraging.
