Nothing more to say. Some change

I seen that on fb earlier and meant to post it here but forgot. It's so much pain in one photo you'd be so sick even though an Alhambra is not a bad car in its own right it's no jag. It would put you of kids anyway :pac:

It's not lubricating under high load and the engine's already injecting oil anyway. But it helps keep carbon down because the stuff's designed to burn and mix with petrol.

Really heavy premixes are only needed for engines like 2-strokes where you're also lubricating load-taking bearings and the like.

Right. Are you on the marine brew or good-quality synth/part-synth from a bike shop?

    Castrol Power Race...

Not cheap, but does the job. Everyone who uses it swears by it

Yes, I know it - very, very good tack indeed. Smells like God's farts, hi! :D I'm after the specific additive package that gives TC-W3 compliance, though.

Anyways sorry as I said yesterday here's pics of the car with the temporary black and white badge. It's needs a new front badge anyway.

Just trying to decide to stick with normal or black and white. Opinions?

I actually quite like that now that Ive seen it... Looks good with the black grille.

Are you thinking of swapping the badges on the wheels too?

    Cheers :)

I think if I do change the badges on the bonnet and boot I'd have to change them on the wheels to or it would drive me mad not being all matched up :o.

But not on its current wheels it currently has 17 inch wheels I'm planning on putting 18 inch m sport wheels on it in the next few months.

Not that I want it to copy an m sport just the more I thought of it anytime I see a car with aftermarket wheels I automatically think it's been through the mill and the 18 inch m sport are the best oem alloys for it imo.

Not quite the same level but I done something similar went from the 330i to a 1.9 tdi Passat which lasted around 7 long weeks before my hatred of it consumed me enough to move it on.

Agreed, not a fan of aftermarket wheels on cars, most of them have a tendency to look tacky. But to each their own I suppose!

Would be best to go black for all the badges i would think, don't forget the steering wheel if you want them all to match :pac:

As for where to get the I guess it'd have to be an ebay job but its hard to know what kind of quality you'd wind up with. Maybe someone here could recommend a seller?

Marty, it's YOUR car. You put on it whatever you prefer. You paid the money for it, no one else so you're entitled to do what YOU want with it!

    ^^

    Exactly

I had alot of people on here telling me pics of plate to one side looked crap/wrong

Then once afew saw it in the flesh they said it actually looks great.

Pictures don't do alot of things justice, just go with what suits you.

a guy from my secondary school year put up a picture recently like the jag to 7 seater one above.
Except it was his first car,
    a suzuki ignis,
    for 2 kids
    and soon to be wife.
    and he's 20.

**** every aspect of that situation

Any thoughts of the new model (post '12) VW CC compared to the previous Passat CC? Is it just a facelift or a whole new car?

    I like them a lot :)

Quick question lads, how far would you travel to look at a car?

There's one I spotted that suits my needs (the wife's) but it's in the far side of Roscommon and I'm in Wexford. It'd be a long spin just to find it wasn't up to scratch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,920 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Ask them to meet you half way? If the car isn't up to scratch (if they say it is) then they won't bother travelling.

Personally if I was selling a car I wouldn't bother driving half way. Too many time wasters and tyre kickers out there to be driving cars down to them!

That's the other side of the coin too. Personally I wouldn't drive across the country for a car I was buying privately. I'd just keep looking for something more local to me.

If I was selling I wouldnt travel further than the nearest town to meet them.

If they are intetested they will travel.

Brother once had some clown try to get him to collect him from a train station twenty miles away.

If I'm buying a car and I see one that takes my eye, I have no issue travelling. I live in Drogheda and I'm on my 5th car.

First was in Monaghan (an hour each way).
Second was in Drogheda (took about 20 mins to get to him).
Third was in limerick (2.5 hours each way).
Fourth was swords (Dublin) (45mins each way).
Current one was Cherry Orchard Industrial Estate (Dublin) (1hr each way).

Ironically the one I travelled furthest for was the one I had most issues with, but it was a good day out and about nonetheless.

As a seller, I'll meet someone within 10-15 minutes of my house. Beyond that, they can go and feck.

Far side of Roscommon? Sounds like it's fairly close to me.

Is the general consensus with people here to meet potential buyers away from your house, eg a local petrol station? I know of people who sell their cars from their houses, and more who wouldn't let anyone near the house.

I suppose I'm a bit skeptical, but if I was buying a car and someone wanted to meet me in and ind. est. for example, I'd be weary.

I've sold 3 cars at the house because they barely moved or didn't move at all, otherwise I'd meet them in a car park or something.

Some of them pictures look like they were taken off google images, and/or taken in the uk somewhere. You can even make out the english plates on the jeep. Maybe it's an import, or maybe they aren't pics of it at all.

No mention of the important stuff, service history etc...

the pictures were definitely taken from somewhere else, seeing as they've just screenshotted them on an iphone or something and that's why the big black bars are there on the top and bottom
