And Ryan Tubridy said all this???? No? Oh I thought this was a Tubbs thread!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That's an infraction. Report a post if you have a problem with it, and read the charter's provisions about backseat modding.

One more point: Another mod has previously advised that it's problematic when people go after newsreaders who, at least on private stations, are pretty poorly-paid. Just a reminder. A fleeting annoyance regarding pronunciation isn't a very good reason to have someone's name tarred in a Google search, especially when they're just beginning their career. Be considerate.

In this case, it seems nobody was named, so let's just leave it there

I would like to thank the lady that has been presenting the show lately, for the last couple of days at least, and long may she continue!
I can't stand to listen to Tubridy at the best of times, and the rest of us that have a choice in our offices are in the minority (there is 'too much variety' in everyones choices outside of Tubridy :().
She is so bad, they have been happily changing every morning and trying out different stations :D
Every morning, it's back on Radio 1 and when she starts, they actively ask for a station.
Hopefully it will become 'a thing' that we can rotate stations from now on.
When Dave Fanning takes over from Tubs normally everybody is happy to leave him on, so radio 1 never gets changed.
The rusted dial has been oiled and we are all hearing new voices for the first time in years :)

More emphasis on feminine affairs this morning, powerful women kind of stuff.

I think I did predict it ,though.

Hmmm......now nothing wrong , but hey , bit of an overkill in this posters opinion.

People in the canteen had just changed there about 30 minutes ago :D
They have no remote control for the displayless radio. One of them got a replacement yesterday and there is music in there this morning while grabbing a coffee.
I must say, it makes a big difference. Hadn't realised how used to things we had got. People talking about the canteen being 'lively' first thing in the morning :) and only two people in it.

Tubs is after getting engaged, so will be interesting to hear about it all next week.

It looks like Ryan Tubridy could be officially off the market according to some holidaymakers who bumped into the star while he was enjoying a romantic break away in Lanzarote.

Imagine being that much of a pr1ck that you'd contact a tabloid after a holiday and tell them that

He probably has a publicist to do that for him.

Another RTE/Tubridy show exercise in, "let's be heard saying the right thing".

What was the point of it? That women should be allowed to have hairy armpits and do what they want with their own bodies. No ****.

There seems to be a concerted ‘push’ to get women’s issues to the fore in RTE.

Every current affairs show seems to have some kind of insert on pushing the gender issue.

    Just sayin........

All those horrible men shaming and forcing them into shaving their legs and things.

They're mindlessly going along with the metoo trend and giving any two-bit twitter feminist the opportunity to spout ****e and build up their insta-careers.

As far as I can see the gender/feminist aspects of many topics are being over-represented, as if they were the entirety of things.

Guys, there is ONE woman on prime-time radio on RTE whose show is (occasionally) covering these topics. The rest of the day is men doing magazine/ music shows, or mainstream news content.

Women's Hour has been on BBC 1 for nearly fifty years (though of course, its first presenter was male, anyway), yet some people here seem to be having a stroke when the temporary female presenter occasionally raises issues that tend to interest women. As if this is somehow revolutionary or foreshadowing the male apocalypse.

    It's baffling.

Tubridy will probably be back next week and then there'll only be women doing the news again, order shall be restored and we can all claim victory over the feminist agenda

Imagine being that much of a pr1ck that you'd contact a tabloid after a holiday and tell them that

I remember when he was photographed in some public park when he was out walking the maths teacher one Sunday, and he came back to the studio with this self righteous rant about how his permission was never asked and he was on his private time. But after his paper thin frame had been taken down from the cross, he did his morning paper review............... and gossiped about the sex lives and relationships of numerous other celebrities, who I sure felt that their privacy was breached by his commenting on their relationships.

He has made an RTE career out of his 9am run through the papers with his smart ar$e remarks about who cheated on who and innuendos about the latest purported Dancing With The Stars love affair. So if Tubridy gets irate again, for having done to him as he has done to others (and been mightily paid for), then he can f**k right off.

I bet it's all bull anyways. A mystery woman? Please. He occasionally has his photo taken with women that want their profile boosted,

    snip

THere's a reasonably wide latitude here in terms of commentary around broadcasters as public figures, but this doesn't permit lurid speculation about what you think they do with real people behind closed doors. It is not ok - especially when you throw in a dollop of homophobia on top of it.

Banned for three days; don't post in this thread again please.

I heard that Tubridy was brought in for questioning in regard to that party that Conor McGregor was at a while back. Did anybody else hear that? Not that he did anything wrong, just that he gave a statement in relation to another crime in the vicinity of the party (the alleged crime that was front page news on the papers)

Saturday night Ray Darcy has Tony O Reilly on talking about the evils of gambling. Today Ryan has Paddy Power sponsoring his competition.

    Ryan's big into gambling.

For example,it was really windy this morning and Ryan still gambled on his 7 stone frame not being blown down the road like a paper bag on his way to work.

    How curiously intriguing...... :pac:

    And......?

If D'Arcy had a fat person on talking about food addiction would RTE have to pull all ads or sponsorship for Supermacs?

RTE doesn't make people become addicted to gambling.

Ryan didn't personally setup the competition or attract the prize sponsor.

Now if D'Arcy Show on the night went from the gambling topic to an ad or a prize sponsored by Paddy Power you could say that was bad taste/misfortune. Not 2 days later on a different station.

So long as they're on different stations it's OK? Ray Darcy had that guy (a convicted criminal) on his Radio 1 show plugging his wares several times. Does he pay RTE for that advertising? So much for Dee Forbes policy of getting rid of "advertising leakage". It's still going on with Ryan Tubridy and Joe Duffy's books and Aonghus McAnally's Christy Hennessey tribute shows.

Who paid for Ryan Tubridy's Jaunt to Cheltenham last year? Was it Paddy Power or the licence fee?

Comparing our gang of criminals to indigenous tribes in south America, they are having a laugh.

No more Michael Jackson music on The Tubridy show.

A little comfort for his victims.

Paddy Power. It's a disgrace that a business would sponsor/pay for the Tubridy Show to broadcast from Cheltenham.

Licence fee. It's a disgrace that taxpayers money is being used to broadcast the Tubridy Show from Cheltenham.

Had to think a bit about this(no- it didn’t hurt) Public Service Broadcaster... bit of a thin line is all I can come up with....

Out of curiosity, why is Tubridy going?
I wouldn't have thought he would be known for, or associated in any way with horse racing, nor is his show on when any actual races are being ran.
Does he just bring in a 'tipster' and give tips?
