It was all that current Top Gear is not, funny, chemistry between the presenters, a bit of car porn and overall enjoyable hour of my life.

I did not just watch The Grand Tour " I imagined it in my head in HD and used 4.57GB of my brain " to do so...

And will do it again next week.. Because this is a great car show and everything new Top Gear is not..

I really liked it. It's the same but different. There are imperfections but like when they started out on Top Gear, I imagine the show will evolve a bit.

I wonder if we will even see "The Stig" go head to head with "Nascar Guy" ...

It may also be worth offering the Beep €10 Million or so transfer fee for the Stig ..

Some say, that real Top Gear ended with the sacking of Clarkson...

    but they're wrong...

All we know is, it's now called The Grand Tour

Just watched it there.. loved it :)

It's the other way round I'm afraid. They can't have a stig due to copyright,or an audience that stands.

How can you copyright "an audience that stands"?

It's part of the whole format.

So was a track and a neutral test driver though.

You should have specified that so.

The opening was...strange. Like a sign off for the finale of the previous show and an advertisement for a cult, once they cut to the desert. Not that I'm complaining.

Not sure which of the super cars I'd have. They've kept the production values at 11 anyway.

For me its basically Top Gear with a bigger budget

Am a bit slow... is it just this show available in Ireland in December or is it Amazon Prime as a whole??

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,149 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Amazon Prime is available in Ireland from December, which you need to be able to watch the show.

(Or you can google "The Grand Tour Episode 1" and watch it)

Thought it was very good - loved the opening scene.

Have to be a pedantic though and say that the "big race" should have been ran on the tyres each manufacturer provided. Hypercars like these are designed with specific tyres in mind and are finely tuned around them.

it looks like a Topgear xmas special on steriods

    From the opening shot of
Jeremy handing over his BBC security pass
I knew this would be great :D

    Only thing I didn't like
"The American" test driver, that's gonna get old real quick.

I used to be a Clarkson fan years ago but thought he turned in to an arse and was really starting to dislike top gear over the last few years. The reaction of his retarded fans following his sacking turned me more off him.

However, I thought the intro was brilliant and overall enjoyed the show. Loved the hothouse flowers......so i'm showing my age.
