The OnePlus 2 Thread

Im looking for some help, there seems to be lots of software issues being mentioned here for this phone. Ive been really contemplating buying one of these but seriously does eveeryone have these issues of flashing and rooting, which i never heard of until today, because i dont think i would have the patience or know how to keep on top of these little fixes. Also is the best place to buy one on the official oneplus site or can uou advise somewhere else. Thanks and any fewdback is appreciated

Just got this phone and I find the default messenger app crashes when I try to send a text. As soon as I tap the + icon it craps out.

Upgraded to OxygenOS 3.0 Beta and Messenger app still craps out.

For an advanced user yes, it's certainly the easiest place to start for a novice. Are you going to take the time to fully explain how to do all the other steps. I had a similar issue with a family member, it's just so much easier to get them to factory reset than detail how to try troubleshoot when you may end up doing a reset anyway

Anyone having an issue with Google maps? Everything still works but if I go into street view it no longer swipes. The screen just stops dead once I take my Finger off. Is there a simple setting change to fix this?

Never happened to me. Try textra or some other text app.

Anyone know where to get a OP2 back cover apart from OnePlus? They're too expensive.

i was considering a Dbrand skin, but would rather pay for the expensive cover than that.

After a week with this phone after owning the oneplus one I find the opo way superior in every aspect, I was running Sultons ROM, Oxygen OS seems a mess. I'm on the lateste MM build they have released. Is there many custom roms for this out worth noting?

Im running Exodus. Was previously on a unofficial cm13 which was very good.

I would. It's quicker and the fingerprint scanner is much more accurate.

ANyone here have the OnePlus Silver bullet earphones? Im getting the Kevlar cover and Im thinking about getting them since Ill be paying postage. Do they work with Spotify (e.g. changing song, pausing)

I downloaded this last week because it was either that or the phone was going to meet a very violent end due to constant freezing and awful lag. I haven't had a problem since updating so I would highly recommend it.

I saw people moan about battery life. I might just wait for the OTA.

My sentiments too. I was about to ditch the OP2 for a Nexus, and was saved by the latest beta

Battery life is the same or if anything slightly better after the update. People will find something to moan about or you may have isolated issues but the reception to this has been overwhelmingly good.

just did the update. painless. maybe wrong, but seemed while redoing the fingerprints that you had to do a lot more scans of the finger in the setup, hopefully thats a good thing

does seem snappier alright, but only played with a few minutes


did get the google play services warning jsut after upgrading, but has disappeared now

After 2 weeks after applying the update, my phone is working much more smoothly however I feel the battery draining a little bit more, more so during the night...anyone else finding this?

I was getting that regularly after the upgrade. It eventually disappeared after a factory reset.

So I am not alone - I have Oxygen at 13% and Android OS at 4%
Is this normal?

it wasnt like that last week, i never even noticed oxygen it was always android at top at about 5%

Folks just received this phone today. Looking forward to opening when I get home. Just question on rooting and flashing it and ROMS which I never heard of until I subscribed to this thread. Do I need to root this phone when I turn it on and if I do is it straight forward, I suppose you tube will be my friend on it!.
