    All done, thanks folks.

Just a quick question, I have a symbol beside my wifi bar that was never there before. It's a white circle with a "-" symbol inside it and then another white circle around the first circle. That's an awful explanation but does anybody know what it is?

That has replaced the star which means you have it in priority notification mode. Move the physical slider on the left of your phone and you'll see it change.

Edit: the Double circle is silent mode.

Ha, so simple. I would have noticed it later this evening. Thanks :)

I can't get over how quick the phone is now. It's lightning fast, no more lag while opening apps. I did get the Google services message 3 or 4 times but nothing since.

I just hope this is the end of my freezing issues now because as much as I did love the phone I was giving serious consideration to selling it and grabbing something cheap and cheerful until I was eligible for an upgrade.

Delighted with the update so far, amazed with the speed.

The process was perfectly straightforward, and I still have root; only issue I've found is I can't get into app permissions - it just crashes out, but I can still change permissions on the apps individually.

Anyone else notice that their battery will go down real slow and then seemingly out of nowhere just cliff dive ten percent. This is just since the update to marshmallow.

My finger print scanner is back working after flashing marshmallow- delighted.

In other news.. I can't boot into recovery anymore. I previously had twrp.
I'm also not able to see any files on my phone from my PC either which makes it difficult for me to do certain things in the guides.
But the phone works perfectly other than that.

I want to do a full wipe and clean install of marsh mellow and root.

I've read so many different guides and fixes but I'm totally lost.

I'm hoping someone can help me bearing in mind the problems I have above?

    Thanks

When you connect your phone to your computer swipe down on your phone and click the notification. Then change the mode to file transfer. Should sort that bit out.

I don't have that option. I have debuigging enabled and still can't see anything just an empty folder.

Sounds like a driver issue on your PC.
Make sure you have the correct drivers installed.

It appeared bad, but after 3 cycles it's running fine. How many charges have you done since updating?

I'm so disappointed with this just waste of money of a phone. When I got it about 6 weeks ago it was extremely slow and buggy and I thought it was only inevitable until they released an update to fix it, so the update comes and it's worse than ever. I've to restart it at least four times a day due to things crashing and freezing on me. Sickened I went away from the Google nexus phones as they're far far superior in my experience

Have you done a factory reset?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,914 ✭✭✭statto25

I've a weird issue.... Twice now at the same time and in the same location on the way home, my phone will restart. It might be happening in my pocket during the day but I notice it in the car cause my Bluetooth will disconnect. Phone is performing well otherwise so don't know whats doing it.

What will a factory reset do? I too have been having some issues with stalling and restarting of my OnePlus 2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭5star02707

flash the most recent update if you haven't gotten it
    http://downloads.oneplus.net/2016-03-30/op2/OnePlus_2_OxygenOS_3.0_Beta/

else factory reset it if you still having problems after the update

update pretty much solves most of the bugs, instructions are given on how to do the update manually

A factory update is the first place to start when you're trying fix issues, it's what their support will tell you to do. Most of these issues are software bugs that there usually is no fix for. I recommend a factory resetting every 6 months, especially after an update on any Android phone. Get a system in place that backs everything up to the cloud

    Thanks.

A factory reset certainly is not the first place to start, it is probably one of the last places to start!
The first step is noting what apps were open when the problem occurs.
The second step is disabling any apps installed from outside the Play store.
The third step is putting your phone into safe mode and seeing how long before the problem reoccurs.
At this stage you will be getting an idea as to whether it's an app.
The next stage is factory reset.
Finally, as it is possible your version of Android has been corrupted, a reinstallaton of the Android image file onto the phone may be necessary (unless it's under warranty in which case just send it back) .
