The Witness. Tbh I am finding it difficult enough at times. But once you get the puzzle you realize it was handy enough. One puzzle in particular I 100% guessed and the door opened, it wasn't first try or anything but I kept doing different combinations and just solved itself.

Booted up good old Resi 5 again there. Last time I tried was on my poor aul laptop which could barely manage 30fps. My PC is hitting over 200 so that's nice.

I found the real joy of that game was finding the hidden puzzles amongst the world itself

    Oxenfree.
What a strange and beautifully crafted game. Dont think ive ever played anything quite like it. I guess its sort of a love / hate type of game.

*Just finished it up. Completely lost, no idea what was happening at the end...

Playing The Witcher 3 and enjoying the sh1t out of it. Thought I had gotten sick of open world games but this is brilliant. Over 50 hours into it and
    only just gotten to Skellige

I think I love Total War: Warhammer a bit too much even though I'm terrible at it. Haven't even touched the second or Mortal Empires yet.

Playing Prey at the moment, keyboard mapping seemed a bit odd at first (F to interact instead of E, etc) but really enjoying it now. Story seems decent so far.

I just crept over the 300 hour mark last weekend.

I've only beaten about half the campaigns though, and that's only on Normal difficulty.

I really enjoy the mechanics of it, but it's not a game I like to be challenged in. I simply can't accept losing battles. I savescum all the time.

I'm bad for it as well. Not sure how accurate the difficulty descriptions for each faction are. I've just got into a fair bit of bother with the Dwarves.

I'm a bit of a save-scummer as well but mainly for agents considering it takes ages to get to building their recruitment buildings.

Finished that recently and I don't know why I put it off for so long. It was a bloody brilliant game. Played through it again to get a particular achievement
I accidentally disabled a tracking bracelet so I couldn't find the guy that was off station
. I need to play it again
this time killing everyone so that I can get to those 3 guys stuck in the IT supply closet

I still think it sorta suffers a little bit of the same issues as normal xcom 2 where it gets frustratingly difficult and then you get a few tech upgrades and it gets relatively easy fast.

But War of the Chosen is still an excellent addiiton with plenty of content

I'm torn on this game, I started playing it a few weeks ago, I think im still trying to figure how it works, I find some sections insanely difficult but then I find alternative routes and start loving it again.
I will say that at the start its horrible not knowing what to upgrade and having closed off sections due to the "wrong" choices but it is fair in that you can fight off a few baddies and get the upgrade you need.
I'm not far through it but it definitely feels special, Moreso than Dishonored 2 which was the first FPS in a hell of a long time, i.e. Half life 2 where the environment is your playground( ok Dishonoured 1 but I ****ed up my save which left me in a **** situation with no weapons, must finish it, finished Dishonoured 2 and absolutely loved it ).
    Grr big rant :)

Started playing Starpoint Gemini Warlords yesterday, after someone said it was a mixture of Mount and Blade in space, and a 4x game. And that's a pretty accurate description. Was 25 quid, with all the DLC, so I figured i'd give it two hours and refund it i didn't like it.

13 hours later, and i love the game. It's brilliant. Flying around with a massive fleet, upgrading stations, conquering territory etc...It's pretty much exactly what i was looking for.

It's a good solid game. Gonna grab the dlc myself and see what new features/missions it brings

Yeah, playing on nightmare mode so have struggled in a lot of fights. Scrounging for resources is tough too as everything is hard to come by. Just got to the point where
you get locked in Deep Storage
so not entirely sure how far in I am. It's really very good once you get the hang of things like the crafting and so on. Find it hard navigating around the station at times but once you get to the GUTS it makes life a little easier, especially when you can bounce off the belts to speed up your movement! Got killed the first time trying that by hitting a wall at over 8m/s!

Started Doom 2016. 2 Levels done. I think I might be playing it a bit safer than it's meant to be, so think tomorrow I'll go through a bit faster.
Echoes of Dead Space with the story/dossier/data logs. Haven't really played any of the previous Dooms much so maybe they inspired Dead Space in that regard.

Doom is a excellent game but took me a while to play it as I kept playing a bit every now and then but once it clicked I sat through a whole day until I finished it.

Been playing today and keep dying in the same place thanks to 2 Hell Knights attacking at the same time.

Picked No Man's Sky back up for around €28. So much better a game, and i completely agree with whomever said it before - its grindy, but very satisfying to sink a few hours in. The structure of the early game is so much better now - it guides you along and trains you up without making it too easy.

The anxiety leaving a system before every unit of copper is mined though.....:)

Subnautica - phenomenal game and absolutely beautiful, but I've kind of slipped out it here or there in part because while it's one of the most relaxing games I've ever played it can get a bit too slow paced at times as some resources to progress are really hard to find without much hint as to where to find them or way to mark them effectively, and also in part because those Reaper fish scare the absolute bejaysus out of me the way they come out of nowhere!

Madden 19 - pretty good, delighted to have it back on PC after not playing one for over a decade with NFL and rugby being the only sports I have much interest in these days. It really is nothing short of amazing how lazy EA are though, that several things from sorting player attribute screens, to the franchise mode (like an career/owner mode of sorts) have gone backwards while the advances in gameplay seem like they are 2-3 years advances on where they were 11 years ago. The lack of competition in so many sports titles in this sense really is appalling, but I got it as part of the EA Premier Access deal (which is fecking amazing value by the way) so am still quite happy with it, esp with the season proper kicking off in about two weeks.

This War of Mine - A lot of fun and quite haunting in it's own right especially being based on the Siege of Sarajevo, but a really wonderful little game all in all. Would highly, highly recommend the mobile version for anyone who takes the bus/train to work or needs something to dick about with on on the bog too.

Prison Architect - also part of the EA Premier Access, absolutely love this to bits. If I'm correct it also comes in mobile but would probably be quite difficult to navigate properly on it. Small and simplistic but also really does have a lot of depth to it. I'm up to 62 prisoners now and working on a maximum security part next to get some more funds up. Some might have played this and found it quite inaccessible because the first day or two is really confusing and one short-falling is that the tutorial/explanation parts are very lacklustre, but checking google quite often in the early going did a lot to help and once you get the ball rolling it's pretty excellent if you like games like Civilization, Sim City/Cities: Skylines, etc. I would really, really recommend this.

Playing a lot of Dead Cells lately. Very enjoyable game, got the final boss to about 20% I love the progression in it, I know people say it's too strict but I love it. It's not a type of game I play at all, would have to go to Amiga era for the last time I played a platformer like this.
Anyone any recommendations for another game like this? Would like if it had progression like this

Same, getting through Doom atm, bought it ages ago on Steam. Enjoying it so far after about 5 hours in, starting to get a bit same-y but arena fights have picked up and are more enjoyable now

Slowly making my way through Witcher 3.

I've found the Hearts of Stone expansion to be a bit of a mixed bag, but it has some great highlights as well. After that it'll be on to the finale of the main game and then finally get around to Blood and Wine.

Part of me wants to start the game again (again), and do a sort of final playthrough where I do everything right, and try out a different build. I'd also like to do a Triss romance playthrough, but it's just so hard to after having read the books. She's kindof a dick. Also, I went Shani in Witcher 1 and then snubbed Triss again in W2 in this save file. I might have to go back and get another save of Witcher 2 first next time. I don't think I could stomach another playthrough of W1 and very little is carried over from then anyway.

It's not something I find I can play for hours and hours on end anymore, but it's still really nice to dip in for a couple of hours, do a monster hunt, a couple of story missions and call it a day. It's just such a nice world to inhabit for a while.

I'm the same, It was a fantastic game until about 15 hrs in where the progression just stops and you're basically collecting resources all day long hoping for some sort of story progression to kick in. Disappointing as it really could have been one of my favourite games of all time. I've all but given up on the game now.

Recently started Doom after hearing nothing but great things about it. Ah, it's alright I suppose. Not really grabbing me in to be honest.

Finding it hard after finishing Witcher 3 to find something that I want to play regularly to completion.

Finished Starpoint Gemini Warlords 2 today, or at least i finished the main quest and decided i'd had enough. Really enjoyed it, and got around 30 hours out of it. There is a new DLC quest, but not sure if i will get through that. It got a bit repetitive at the end tbh. Well worth the 20 quid i spent though.

Not sure what to play next.
