Lots of X-Com 2 WotC with the "A Better ..." series of mods (Advent, Barracks, something else). Very enjoyable. Also got PubG a week or so ago and have been playing it non-stop with a group of friends. Still no chicken dinners, but I'm really enjoying it.

Honestly its the best FPS I've ever played.

movement is just perfect, guns are great they make you feel powerful. its just flawless

Could do with more enemy variety though. It gets a bit repetitive towards the end.

I didn't find that at all.

Regarding a game that kept new enemies coming was Dead Space. There I was playing the game and had just got used to finding it easy to kill the enemy and next thing a new more powerful one would appear and it done it a few times throughout the game. Good game though.

Finished my 4th playthrough of GTA:SA a few weeks back. Have never gotten 100% in any GTA, so am now just occasionally hopping on and doing a few bits and pieces. Have all horseshoes and oysters. In the middle of tagging and only learned about the snapshots from a 100% guide. So. Much. More. To. Do.

Enjoying this Skyrim playthough, as i've gotten the right mixture of mods to make it interesting. Won't last much longer though, as i'm close to being unkillable.

Will get stuck into Divinity Original Sin 2 after that, and then probably Battle for Azeroth after that.

Hollow Knight. Saw are review recently on IGN. Great little game, really enjoying it.

I found the first 10 hours good, but borderline overly-difficult for my casual-play nature. There was **just** enough feeling of progression to keep me ticking away at it. Then there came a moment after about 12 or 13 hours when I finally felt able to kick on and I've been loving it since. It's a huge little game.

I've got up to dungeon 3 in Zelda: Oracle of Ages. It's not the best Zelda I've played.
Having to back track through the island to retrieve my items from the island folk before dungeon 3. The second boss was annoying, I thought the action stuff was in Seasons? And I haven't reached the legendary Goran Dance section yet.
    I don't think I completed Ages before.
The two gameboy colour zeldas by capcom had some good points but there were definite negatives too.

Picked up squad on the steam sale, its a good team play based shooter sunk about 12 hours into it so far and for an alpha its been great so far.

Finished Spec Ops the line. Amazing experience.
Story and set pieces were very engaging.
Considering giving it another run though.

Btw I built my PC mostly for strategy games however, having played recently played Wolfenstein: The New Order with a controller followed by this and Doom with keyboard and mouse, I can see why people keyboard and mouse would be an unfair advantage in FPS.

    Terraria

It's funny how in an MMO I do a load of busywork, look back at my time and feel **** for wasting it, but in Terraria I never feel that way. Spend a bit of time spelunking, find a bunch of loot and interesting caves, maybe get in a few scrapes. Then when you've had your fill, build up your base for a bit or maybe explore along the surface. Then maybe do a spot of fishing...

I hadn't played in a while but despite playing it for nearly 300 hours before, it feels fresh again. There's a unique feel to the world or the base you build if you want to look for it.

    Assault Android Cactus

Super-charming little twin-stick shooter with a great soundtrack & addictive gunplay!

I bought that game nearly a year ago and haven't really touched it as of yet. I think i only started it up once for about 15 minutes and that was that.

These kinds of games aren't for everyone, but I'd give it a bit more time if you think you might have some interest in that kind of thing.

There's a huge wiki for it that I often have open as I'm playing.
This has a few basics that might smooth the opening of the game.
    https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Guide:Getting_started
    And another for crafting:

Not everyone wants to play games that way though but it's still worth diving in and seeing if you like it. The main thing early on is to build a house, and then head along the surface and try and find a cave that'll carry you down into the bowels of the earth. It's quicker than burrowing from your starting point and usually you'll find chests and stuff there which will give you most of what you need to survive the earlier parts of the game - some decent weapons, potions and the likes, and from that point you're away.

Finally finished Darkest Dungeon! Only took 170 hours! :pac:

Going to move on and pick up Kerbal Space Program again and try and get to every planet.

Also thinking of getting through Sunless Sea.

Picked up Rocket League on sale. Just getting used to it. Seems weird but fun.

Picked up Prey and can't put it down. Really big Half Life vibe to it. Don't think it sold very well when it came out but i highly recommend it.

Project Highrise. Pretty faithful spritual sequel to SimTower. Probably 'just' worth 20 euro but the DLCs are a steal.

I was literally in the middle of writing a post about the 'a better' mods on the XCom thread when I tabbed over to this. :D

Just basically to say avoid 'a better arsenal' or 'a better rookie'. The others are great for doing a quicker/easier runthrough but with those two you'd quite literally be ready for the last mission after doing just 2-3 at the start.

Playing through Quantum Break. Alright story and i'm close to the end. Controls are clunky but the time powers are good. You don't get to use them enough.

Still playing Hollow Knight and have sunk about 14hrs into it. Its a very good game but am complete stuck at The Wather Knights boss fight and cant get them completed. I hate when a boss is so hard it makes you want to not play the game anymore.... I must go back and give Ori and the Blind Forest another playthrough when im finished up with Hollow Knight.

The Swapper - Good puzzler. Finished it last night but had to Google the storyline afterwards. Hadn't got a breeze what was going on!

Portal - Only an hour in. First time ever playing it. Very original and clever.

The Wolf Among Us - Enthralling! Two episodes left. The right level of grittiness complements the innocence of childhood stories extremely well.

Batman Arkham Knight - Bored out of my tree two hours in. Don't know whether it's me or the game but this genre leaves me so jaded. Go to an area, pull a lever, kill the bad guys, reach a new area... rinse and repeat. Strange, as I love the Batman universe.

It's rare I'm this jealous of anyone, but playing Portal for the first time is a special moment. Go straight to Portal 2 when you're finished.

Loving No Man's Sky at the moment. The latest update is excellent, and i'm already 20+ hours in.

Very tempted to jump back in and buy NMS. What do you think are the major improvements that count, for you?

I love(d) space sims and dont mind mining/crafting element too. Just the game on launch was shockingly pointless imo.

Played it for the first time myself not that long ago. Seems like such a simple game mechanic but the implementation and level design make for an awesome game.

Have you played Asylum or City? They're better.

It's improved in pretty much every way imo. It still has the same cycle that these kind of games have (grind, upgrade, grind etc...) but it does it in a reasonably fun way, and keeps things interesting between your base, ship and freighter (which you get for free now). There are also a huge amount of things to build, and a very easy system to build with. I spent about 90 minutes last night searching for and grinding frost crystals so i could build windows on my base...and i enjoyed it. That about sums up where i am with it at the moment :P

I'm about 25 hours into this playthrough, and can easily see myself putting another 15-20 hours in before i start to get a bit bored with it (this happens much sooner with games for me these days).

Yes, I played them both and loved Asylum but not City for some reason. I feel about Knight the same way I feel about City which I forced myself to complete!

    Dust: An Elysian Tale.
Had this in my backlog for a while. Nice little game and the combat is great.
Nothing to taxing. Going to try to get a few games played from my backlog before Battle for Azeroth drops.
