    I have to say I really really get annoyed at saying ' thats how life works out'

    NO ITS NOT, you take precautions and dont go off having kids when you are in your 60's...

    and he 'cannot remember' where he met her because likely shes a foreign national who was looking to stay in the country so thats what was in it for her...

    An old lad on my road who is 70 'married' a Filipino woman half his age last year....

    Could very well be. If he goes in to the Social Welfare office and seeks more cash I am sure they will ask who the mother is and why is she not contributing, presuming her name has to be on the birth cert.
