Yeah, I'm not a huge Dario fan... he's a bit too much in love with himself for my tastes.
Hah, the actor is probably doing his job well then. There's supposed to be a "noble savage" aspect about him just like Khal Drogo, an arrogant warrior, but well spoken and cunning.

I expect at this stage, this will be the catalyst to drive Dany back to Westeros; the realisation that Meereen is beyond her control. Free the other two dragons, lay waste to the noble houses and hit the road with D'aario, Jorah and Tyrion.

I think Melisandre actually believes what she says she believes but sure who knows.

There's definitely something to her belief in the God of Light; we've been shown the magic of the "shadow-baby" and the way Thoros of Myr can bring the dead back to life.

One of the admirable things about the show is how they keep the idea of magic/gods in the background all the time and any time they show it explicitly it's kept on a very tight leash.

Remember Littlefinger will be waiting with the Knights of the Vale to pick off the Winner of Bolton vs Baratheon.

I thought the Vale was kinda out of the way, easy to avoid but very hard to get into if you weren't a welcome guest.

I don't know why Stanis or the Boltons would be bothered with the place. I think the vale could make for a pretty epic whitewalker encounter though.

Littlefinger told Cersei that once the Boltons and Stannis had battled and depleted each other's forces, he would then take the knights of the Vale to Winterfell to pick off whatever was left of the victor. Littlefinger intends to take Winterfell for himself, but he's just letting the Boltons and Stannis do the heavy lifting for him first.

Given the weather I suspect Little Finger wont be going anywhere near it and he knows that! He was telling Cersei whatever she wanted to hear and now that she's lost her grip on power, I suspect Littlefinger would be more than happy to have someone bump her off. Lets face it, not many people out there would be shedding a tear if she came to a sticky end :)

Agreed. It's difficult to know what exactly Littlefinger is after and how he intends to get it, but that's what he told Cersei anyway. I'm not sure Littlefinger would have an easy time of it if he came back to Winterfell after the mess he left Sansa in anway. I can't imagine she'll welcome him back with open arms.

To be honest if he saved her from Ramsay she probably would!

I'm holding out hope that Sansa will learn to save herself.

Me too, but she's the main pawn in all the machinations to date. Two marriages down and another one in the pipeline, and all at 16!

I want Theon to save her...unlikely to happen by the looks of it

I find it hard to care about her at all. I find there's something very unlikeable about the character, not sure what it is.

When I think about the threat of the white walkers, it kind of makes me feel like the likes of Littlefinger are irrelevant in the face of something like that, but then I remember that of any character in the show, I probably shouldn't underestimate Littlefinger.

The most dangerous man in Westerns - Lord Varys

Given the competition, thats a fair achievement in itself.

I would tend to agree but for one factor - that being Catelyn. She is most likely the only person he seemed to genuinely care about. I think he wants Cersei dead but the sparrows seem to be taking care of that. I think he will go to Winterfell to avenge Catelyn by picking off the Boltons....if they are victorious that is. Maybe I am giving Littlefinger too much credit, but I have always thought that his entire plan that begun with killing Joffrey was (party) motivated by the events of the Red Wedding.

That's why I think she needs to get herself out of the Ramsey situation rather than have someone else lift her out. Sansa is in need of some character development beyond being a device for other characters. I suspect Brienne will help her, but I hope she is actually an agent in her own survival. She should make good use of that corkscrew or whatever it was that she picked up a couple of episodes ago.

Sansa is on a redemption path. She fell for Joffery, she in a way chose pretty things over things of value. Her path back is a hard road, but I like here more and more. I think by the end of the story she will be a tough lady and not a silly girl.

I quite like her character and the actress plays her really well. She has basically not gotten a break since episode 9 of series 1. I am hoping she has a better run of luck if she untangles herself from the Boltons.

Ha! Bloody Safari and its predictive text :D:D:D

You know as soon as I saw your post I was going to edit that post to correct it, but then I thought....no way. The most dangerous man in westerns deserves to stay. It can serve as a warning to all who view the thread on the dangers of predictive text! :pac:

Littlefinger says the Knights of the Vale are trained to fight in the snow and ice so the weather shouldn't be an issue for them.

Plus Cersei says she'll have Tommen issue a royal decree to make Littlefinger Warden of the North, so it's probably in Littlefinger's interests to align with the Lannisters for now.

I agree. Her character is 16-18 year old and she's had almost her entire family butchered while coping with psycho's like Joffrey and Ramsey. Making her some kind of immediate badass would be silly.

The kind of did that with Arya tbh. They've just made Sansa the sort of antithesis to what Arya is about. I've no doubt Arya would have killed Ramsey Bolton by now if she was in Sansa's place! Probably Theon too.

Speaking of which, I hope he's gone soon. I feel exhausted every time he's onscreen.

Your forgetting littlefingers exchange with Olenna , Olenna threated to bring him down with her for killing Joffrey. As usual he a finger in every pie. He can play things different ways pending on how the trials work out.

Cersei is now in a weakened position and Tommen isolated

I don't know how much faith Littlefinger is going have

Quite a lot has actually happened this season when you think about it. I think it's the way they've spread it out into tiny bitesize segments each week that has made it seem quite boring at times. Also the Dorne scenes just seemed a bit bleh

Sure Littlefinger had Cersei thrown in jail. I don't think he's gonna back that horse anymore.

Where has Thoros of Myr disappeared to? There hasn't been a glimpse or a mention of him this season has there?

Are the Knights of the Vale actually any good? We haven't seen them fight (that I can recall), and the Unsullied turned out to be somewhat overrated when it came to the crunch.

I'm hoping he took a detour that led to him bringing the Hound back to life. I really miss that guy!

they sound like something from Monty Python, which is possibly why I don't have a lot of confidence in their fighting ability.

This is what I have been hoping too.

Although, hope is a dangerous thing to believe in with this show.
