Not sure why Tyrion said "Jorah can't be by your side when you return to Westeros", or something like that. Most of his argument seemed in favour of forgiveness.

I just thought, since she was in KL the year before Tyrion was born and all.

I can't remember the exact details but something about how it made sense that Jaime and Cersei loved each other, the Targaryens always wedding sister and brother.

    Sweet jesus.

You'd have thought the Giant would give the lads in the boat a push.

Gonna go out on a limb here and suggest the White Walker Jon Snow killed with his sword is Benjen Stark. What do you guys think? I only suggest this as there is a moment where Jon looks at him as he arrives in the hut; a sort of brief pause and shock on Jon's face.

She brought Jamie and Cersei to KL for the first time when they were 6 years old, Tyrion was born a year later, Jamie and Cersei both have golden hair same as Joanna and Tywin.

Tyrion does not, in the books he has two different coloured eyes. Next week if one of the dragons doesn't burn him it may indicate he has the blood of the dragon, Rhaegal would make most sense for him to be paired with but I thought Jon Snow would get Drogon owing to the black and red colouring with Daenerys ending up on Viserion as he is white and gold. I am reading way too much into this but regardless of that the tv show has now moved way beyond the books so anything can happen.

I can't wait to find out if the White Walker hierarchy who wear the black armor and boiled leather are the 13 companions who originally accompanied the last hero during the Long Night.

He was a traitor, if he is seen at her side it could be a sign of weakness or he could betray again would be my guesses, long shot but he could end up with Varys in a Jon Connington type role next season.

Umm well my whole theory about the White Walkers et al not being truly evil is looking a little shaky :o

Holy f*ckedy f*ck! Can we just forget about everything south of Winterfell for the rest of the season! Episode 8 is the new episode 9 it seems :pac:

Did anyone notice a person in the back of Jon snows boat at the end who kept a hood on and never seemed to move? Don't know of it is relevant or not but seemed a little weird

Heres a picture of the hooded guy in the boat. I think he is the nights watch guy who urged Jon to get into the boat but Jon ordered him to take the boat out and come back for him

Did Tormund kill Rattleshirt or just beat the bloody fcuk out of him? If not that's the guy in the boat I would guess.

Why do I get the feeling that Olly is going to do something bad? A lot of scenes lately with him questioning Jons loyalties.

Great episode that, had thought that the female wildling leader was going to be Val but yeah that didn't last long.. At least Wun Wun was introduced.

Don't know why the White Walkers didn't just come straight over the cliff where they tossed themselves off near the end of the battle but sure maybe they wanted a challenge or something!

Can't believe I'm up for work tomorrow cos theres no way I'm sleeping after that! My hearts still thumping

    :pac:

It's funny cos Jon just talked around the majority of wildlings, defeated hordes of wights, killed a White Walker in single combat, looked into the Nights' King's eyes as he raised all of the dead around him and he's going to get stabbed and killed by a child :)

But Jon always comes back doesn't he Sam...

Ramsay will meet his end upon Ned Starks blade or at least what's left of it.

Great episode but one thing was missing, Ser Barristan to whisper the tale he once heard told of The Mad King and the night he visited Lady Lannister at Casterly Rock...

We might get a ghostly vision next week perhaps.
I personally subscribe to the theory that Tyrion is a Targaryan. It would explain a lot, his lighter shade of hair, the way his father despises him, his fascination with dragons and the dragon dreams he used to have as a child.

Then there's the quote from Tywin when speaking to Tyrion.

"You are an ill-made, spiteful little creature, full of envy, lust and low cunning. Men's laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not mine."

So yeah. Tyrion is a Targ.

Don't know why the White Walkers didn't just come straight over the cliff where they tossed themselves off near the end of the battle but sure maybe they wanted a challenge or something!

Even though a lot of them jump straight up after the cliff fall, perhaps the fall destroyed a significant number of them, and the Night's King only went for that option to bring a quick resolution to the situation.

I'm concerned by the trailer for next week. A stand off between Thorne and Jon? Makes no sense (not least the fact that the ships somehow end up at Castle Black).

Hope that episode 9 has the traditional climactic battle scene. Unfortunately I think it's more likely going to be "Do we burn Shireen?" plot. Gah.

    Tywin: You shot me.
Tyrion: You always were quick to grasp a situation, my lord, that must be why you’re the Hand of the King.
Tywin: You ... you are no ... no son of mine.
Tyrion: Now that’s where you’re wrong, Father. Why, I believe I’m you writ small. Do me a kindness now, and die quickly. I have a ship to catch.

I think it's safe to assume that he'll be the one to stab Jon, not Bowen and the others.

Bit mixed about the battle. The sped up motions of the walkers and quick cuts made it a bit too hectic, but it was edge of your seat stuff. Surprised so many didn't pick up on the Valaryian steel thing.

Called the Night King appearance last week although I did not expect it to go down like that. Given the changes and Sam's comment about Jon always coming back I was actually questioning if he would be killed and resurrected by the Nights King.

Fully expect Jorah to sacrifice himself in the pits to save Dany from Drogon then for her to take off leaving Tyrion to deal with the mess in Mereen.

Also expect Castle Black to be locked down when Jon returns and for him to enter to negotiate the wildling's entry and to meet his fate.

Jamie has really been screwed by the story changes. A big moment for him was ignoring Cersei's letters, now he can't do it because he is captured.

Can't destoryed zombies just get back up again? It's not like a broken back would stop them? In the books only fire or cutting them to pieces can stop them.

I'm not a fan of the Tyrion is a Targ theory but it was great to see himself and Dany interacting...

Cool to see that the Valyrian Steel kills White Walkers theory proven right though. :)

I always just assumed Valyrian steel was effective, surprised many here happy it was confirmed and I either just assumed it or jumped the gun on it.

Liked Arya's few minutes too, good to see her out and about in Braavos.

I don't get it, apparently cliffs aren't a bother to ice zombies but they don't like getting their feet wet

Her first job for the faceless god was one of the memorable parts of the book, and now it looks like its relegated to a dodgy oyster :(

Ollie and hopefully the rest of the night's watch or it won't have the same gravitas.

Not sure why the guy with the hood would be Benjen. Why would he suddenly have been at hard home and surely he would have made himself known to Jon if he was there.

I take it the wall will have to come down at some stage soon. The reason the whitewalkers have not attacked in thousands of years is due to the wall and the magical spell placed on it that prevents them passing. Surely that can't be swept under the carpet and the wall will have to at least be brought down.
