A bit hot for me that time of year but they might expand in due course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,913 ✭✭✭lisasimpson

I'd be of the opinion they are testing the demand for the route

It looks like Air France will now resume CDG at the beginning of March instead of April, with 3 weekly flight for the month. The schedule from April remains the same as summer just gone with the daily16.35 departure

We're lucky that AF/KLM are stepping in, as Aer Lingus withdraw from Cork. Even if the aircraft they're using are a little smaller, at least we're getting options. Maybe they could even chance routing through somewhere other than CDG/AMS in future: Lyon maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 211 ✭✭TheBetsy

I think a good way to look at it is, if airlines like AF/KLM, LH, Swiss, TAP etc. dont already serve Dublin from that destination there's nearly zero chance they will serve the route from Cork alone. As it relates to Lyon, according to Wikipedia the only international destination served by Air France from there is Amsterdam. I would think Cork would be very very far down the priority list there

It looks like Ryanair have cancelled all their flights in and out of Cork for February 1st to 7th. Anyone know what's happening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,345 ✭✭✭Rebelbrowser

Not just Cork. I was going on a ski holiday on 1 Feb with half the party going from Dublin. All their flights were also cancelled

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

I highly doubt they’ve cancelled the flights. A few weeks back they pulled all of the summer 2025 flights off the app and they were back up the next day with no changes made. Probably something like that again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

I might also add that they did this for every single airport aswell, and it has happened again. Just some error on the booking system it seems.

What explanation did Ryanair give you for cancelling your booked flight?

Appears to be affecting all UK flights also. Severe system error I'd imagine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Issue resolved. All flights are on sale again

"commercial reasons". But just received a text from them saying to ignore the e-mail! However there were 9 hours between e-mail and that communication and the e-mail had a button you could press to get a refund. Lots of people will have pressed it. This is going to be some shitshow to undo…

Cork Airport have installed reverse vending machines for the deposit return scheme.

You can get your voucher to spend in the outlets, or, use the charity machine so your deposit goes to charity.

Please don’t let this be the Aer Lingus announcement that Niall McCarthy was on about on LinkedIn

You would think that if they are announcing new routes from next April (summer season), they’d have done it by now. I know loads of people who have already booked flights for Easter holidays in April

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,004 ✭✭✭revelman

Ryanair up to 3 flights weekly to Barcelona main airport (El Prat) from April. Was only 2 flights until today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Yeah, we’re almost in December now and still have nothing from Aer Lingus or Ryanair. Meanwhile TUI have announced more Cork routes this year than them combined💀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 211 ✭✭TheBetsy

I reckon the High Court ruling against the cap at Dublin next summer has postponed/delayed/scuppered any announcements regards new routes.

To be fair though, it was december last year when Ryanair announced the new routes to Zadar, Rhodes and Charleroi. It was also only december when Aer Lingus put the flights on sale for the 3rd based aircraft, so there is hope yet!

Looking at possibly flying to Madrid via Heathrow on February 19th. Would I be mad to consider the Aer Lingus 4.05pm flight to Heathrow, to catch an Iberia flight at 7.40pm? Two hours and twenty minutes between the flights.

If the Aer Lingus flight leaves on time then I reckon I should be fine, but any delay could prove costly. Aer Lingus flies into terminal 2 I think, whilst Iberia uses terminal 5.

are you doing it DIY (booking both flights separately) or booking it via BA? If you are booking it through BA I’d have no concerns doing this though if it was me I would probably aim for earlier flight. Gave you checked KLM too?

You should be fine, you could even absorb a 30-40 min delay and still make it.

Last week, I flew Cork to Heathrow to Delhi with a 90 min connection time. Same transfer as you from arrival at T2 to departure at T5. We arrived 5 mins behind scheduled. I booked Row 2 on the Aer Lingus flight and told the flight attendants I had a very short connection, so they made sure that I was straight up and out in front of the other passengers. It will be essential to try to book a seat in Rows 2 or 3, it will cost you €17.99 probably, but worth it, you will save 10 mins on disembarking.

Your Madrid flight should depart from T5A gates which mean on arrival at T5, you will already be at the correct location - T5B and C gates require underground train transfer which adds 8-10 mins on.

I had a checked bag which was checked through to the final destination and it actually did make it (although I wouldn't recommend checking in a bag if you can avoid - this was a high risk strategy :D!!)

    Safe flight!

I see Air France are coming back a few weeks earlier in the 2025 season, starting up now in March, which is great. It would be even better to see it go year round!

Would you consider KLM through Amsterdam? Guaranteed connection and a far better connections experience.

ORK-VCE back for the summer. Good to see

Went to book the Aspure lounge and saw they now charge 50euros per person. Madness

It says only €36.49 online, if you use the code BLACKFRIDAY244 it's only €25.50.

Even as a walk in it's only €41, where are you seeing €50?

    On Revolut it's only €24?
