Is the under 21 semi actually confirmed for Sat 20th Aug in thurles ???.

BTW we got drawn away to the Tipperary Champions in the Munster senior hurling club qf due to be played on the 23 Oct. Cud be under pressure to get the county championship completed by then.

No matter how good a teams forwards are if they don't have the space, ball will be turned over. Has happened Galway and Tipp plenty times in the past. They need to be clever about it anyway and adjust during the game. When KK brought a corner forward out to midfield in last years all Ireland 5mins into second half it was the winning of the game as Galway kept doing what previously worked for them.
exactly ,and it happened KK last week, players are all the time adjusting to everything around them ,Galway suffered last year because they could not cope with going behind having been in front at half time ,more hangovers from earlier in the year ,as opposed to Waterford last sunday ,Waterford had the belief they had already beaten them this year and were simply killing them in the first half of the semi this year it was only a matter of the same plus more in the second half and we had them ,as the saying goes ,,their is more than one way to skin a cat ,we had them skinned but never hung them up ,here is to another great effort on saturday night ,and it only goes to prove that we had the hurlers, desire, passion and the skill to take on the best no need to revert back to negativity ,i for one have slated Mc Grath for as long as he has played this defensive system and i won't apologise for it ,the way we were hurling was utter ****e and i wanted him out ,but as a man he has shown great commitment to the Waterford Senior Hurlers and everyone connected with Waterford GAA and that we will all be thankful of,its just great to see him back his players ,if last sunday was anything to go by ,KEEP HIM ,cannot wait for the throw in saturday night ,cant wait to enjoy a big crowd in around the square its been a long time since that has happened ,let the hurling commence ,UP THE DEISE

Far more likely that Tipp won't have a representative, there are 8 more rounds to be played in the Tipp SHC and with the county senior footballers and Hurlers still involved, and a number of dual senior clubs in the county its a bit of a mess.

Watching the game again Dunford actually started well and did some good things, his two mistakes were glaring but he was out in front and was doing the right thing, that being said I would keep him in reserve to bring on the next day - a player like him could have kept us pushed up and kept Kk back with his pace.

I would love to look back on how many goals, assists, goal chances created by Jake Dillon over the last few years - he is crafty and had a hand in our two half chances at the weekend - he had a great game.

Unlike his brother Stephen, Shane Bennett doesn't see what's around him at all, he must just look directly at the ball when soloing.... a few times this year he has failed to pass to a better places colleague for a goal chance - something he needs to work on

Personally think Stephen is a better hurler. Been very unlucky not to break into the senior team to date. Probably due to a mixture of injuries and not quite being suited to the system. I'm delighted he has shown his quality with the u21s. It looked like for a while he mightened ulfill his potential due to injuries but hes the next one waiting to explode onto the senior scene now. Shouldve seen game time on Sunday and hope he gets sprung from the bench on Saturday. KK probably don't know too much about him yet and he could be a potential match winner if the game is in the melting pot.

As of today only 18,000 shifted and expecting only 25k on Saturday if going by trends.

    That's the latest anyway.

I think Shane is a brilliant hurler whose work rate is exceptional and better than most. Agree, he's not at his best the last few games for scoring but in the league his scoring dragged us through a few games!
Great player, I'd stick with him.

I can't for the life of me understand how he wasn't used last Sunday, especially with us going orthodox it would have been right up his alley. He's on fire at the moment and Shane isn't far off having a stormer as it's only little things that are going wrong for him so I wouldn't dream of not starting him.
We have to be ready for the KK aggression sat evening as I believe that's what's coming. Meet it head on and take our game to them and we have a right opportunity. I've a feeling it won't be for the faint hearted!!

So the most talked about game of the year is going to have a sequel, prices are lower and it's going to be in a more accessible location. Yet the crowd is going to be smaller. And some people want to bring Champions League-style groups to the Championship.

Jeez that is pathetic and they expecting between 50 and 60,000 at the Tipp Galway game. Was down in Dungarvan on Sunday last and the pubs were packed with Waterford fans. I guess they would rather watch it on TV and have the few pints.

Would they have twice the population of us and kk though? And I'd be surprised if we don't have about 40k at our game anyway. We'll see on the day. But just remember to add about 25% to the announced crowd in thurles to get to the actual crowd!

Haha so true:D. You'd be wondering at times what they would be smoking or do they think people are stupid altogether.

Don't forget not many were giving Waterford a chance last Sunday, including many of the fans themselves, that is the reality.

For me 30 - 35,000 would be a lot on Saturday evening. A lot of people I know haven't decided yet and wont until Saturday, depending on work, families etc. Its short notice for many people aswell who have already had a big expense last Sunday.

he looked incredibly fit to me coming on last week ,worrying so ,the only reason he is not starting is Cody thinks someone else should start,if Cody thought that he couldn't last 70 mins he would be gone off the panel,he expects every fella coming through the door to be at their peak mentally and physically and be ready to perform ,he doesn't do also rans,if you have the match recorded FF to 45 mins and ask yourself what's not fit looking about Eoin Larkin,#beast

Team selection will be interesting. If Darragh Fives is fit does he play him and drop Gleeson who did very well. Dunford reportedly felt unwell during the match , does he get another chance. Jake Dillon done very well especially in the first half . Maurice has struggled this year mostly but on form he is hard to leave out.

It doesn't say it's sold out, it says 'not on sale'. The same thing happened to me with the Wexford game where they stopped selling them a few days before the game. I'm sure they'll still be on sale in Centra/SuperValu.

Lads keep checking the site for stand tickets. I got a ticket right on half way line in O'Riain abt 2 hours ago. I'd say you will get lucky eventually by checking back frequently.

Tickets come back on general sale over the course of the day, it's just a matter of checking online as often as you can. Tickets will be coming back from county boards, so they will be decent seats too.

For the Kilkenny fans this 2morrow will be there most glorious win ever if they win. They will be going around with big grins on there faces saying things like 'We had us but didnt get us', 'We beat ye in your own back yard', 'ye bottled it last week and we showed you what a real team is'. ****ers :mad::mad::mad:

there will be trouble 2morrow if people are rubbed up the wrong way by Drunk fools. Waterford fans wont be any saints either btw
