I didn't see him in action for Roanmore last year but were the most of his scores not from frees for them?

He was also a serious ball winner for them in the half forward line. Amazed if he's on goal.

Any word on this years minor team?

    http://munster.gaa.ie/fixtures/minor/

Look at the minor hurling format for dis year. If we lose to cork and then lose to Tipperary in the playoff we will then play another playoff against the loser of match 1 ???

I'm Sure it's a typo and the winner of playoff 1 will play the loser of the Limerick vs Clare qf

    Kerry should be in it

It's a joke we get 3 throws of the dice call a spade a spade should be **** or bust if the GAA are that considered about player burn out.

Agreed its madness but the system as it was meant that one team got no back door route while the other 4 teams all got a second chance depending on luck of the draw. Should really be all or nothing but remember we won our minor all ireland losing twice along the way and i dont remember too many of us calling to scrap the back door that year

Losing twice and drawing twice in normal time! (One going to extra time and ine replay) Unreal when you think about it

Should have a very strong team this year but id be fearful it will end up like other years. A lot of the u21s are on the senior panel and i dont know how often they are together as a unit. Aswell as that the manager is not up to the task at all, albeit having some star ex players in his backroom team.

I know the u21 management need to arrange games as part of preparations but not sure how much use this game will be considering how many Waterford u21 players will be involved with the seniors on Sunday in Wexford. A chance maybe for some fringe players to stake a claim to make the panel. I'd imagine Cork are similar with the Galway game Sunday too

That was my first thought as well, none of the U21's on the senior panel will likely be involved in that challenge so it will effectively be used as a trial game for lads who will make up the numbers (that aren't on the senior team). Maybe a few might be made available to play a half but probably unlikely.

It was mentioned here the other day the minors were supposedly playing KK in a behind closed doors challenge game today - any word if that went ahead and any reports?

maybe it was called off with St Kerins playing in the Croke Cup final. Dj Careys son is captain and will most likely feature on the Kilkenny minors

Game went ahead Waterford won by 3-21 1-17
The game was behind closed doors unless you were a KK parent so i dont know who scored or anything.
Billy Nolan was on goal i know that much.

Cork vs Kerry (NFL) and Clare vs Tipp (hurling) on tv sunday so a very good crowd is expected in Wexford Park sunday.

cork have no under 21 player anywhere close to making an appearance in the relegation match bar collins the keeper unless that murphy lad corner back is under 21 and he would get stood on by galways forwards

He was on the minor winning team in 2013 so would be still u21

Foran and Harney were on the panel last year? What happened them? Harney is definitely as good as Mcnulty, Gavin O'Brien, Shane Roche etc.
