Why choose a console that will probably cost €300 or so for a kid that wants a tablet that you can pick up for €100?

Because the tablet doesn't play proper games.

That would open things up for DS/3DS compatibility alright. Probably through downloads, but you never know. The screen doesn't need to support 3D to play 3DS games as we've seen with the 2DS.

As the Switch takes game cards too, it may accept 3DS game cards... just spitballing with that, if they've included that functionality.

Hard to know. I'd hope not more than €350 but we could see two SKUS. One of the tablet and control tags and on with them and the base station.

More than SKU I reckon. Max of 400, minimum 279.99.

Could be like what they did when launching the Wii U, could have a Switch and a Switch Pro SKU, like you said:
    Switch = screen + Joy-Cons
    Switch Pro = screen + Joy-Cons + Dock (+ Switch Pro-Controller?)

Anything above 250 would make me have a hard think before buying it but I can see them trying to go for 300. Nivdia's own tegra stuff isn't especially dear for the performance though so I'm hopeful.

Hard to know, it all depends on the power inside I suppose, it would have to be at least €299.

Probably the most pointless observation of that video but.....how satisfying was that click sound when they docked the small controllers on the screen :)

    Not my point,
I can't see third party devs supporting a device and attempting multi format titles if the spec isn't in line or at least close go the competitors

You asked earlier and was given an answer on the 3rd party "point"
I directed you to look at earlier posts on the matter.
As you have continued to labour the notion of a lack of 3rd party support, here are the relevant users and their posts on the matter.
Hope this clears it up for you.

I had to watch it without sound, so I've that to look forward to! :D

Kinda like when you get into a good car, and there's a nice door closing 'thunk' sound!

As so many games cross the PC/PS4/XONE boundary, it's a bit of a null argument, it'll depend on how easy it is to develop for

It's not an argument, I'm not sure why you think it is.
3rd party support will dwindle if the preferred preference is to develop on more powerful console

I was going to post something similar - it has a really nice 'click' when docking it. Just ads to the premium feel of the device.

That wasnt the actual sound, they used the noise of a vw golf door closing to get that satisfying sound;-)

Good question but a tablet doesn't have Mario or Pokémon.

Will be interesting to see if they are a big enough draw, one thing is for sure though, they need to get Minecraft on there.

While it may well be able to pull off console level graphics I feel this will be a 3DS replacement and maybe try and erode its way into the tablet market.

Just, for gods sake don't google "docking".... some of the results are... NSFW

For some reason for power if they 4 times the proper of the VITA (Extremely powerful handheld console still to this day 5 years later). They Switch will be a extremely powerful console as isn't the gamepad only a 720p after all ?.

Also this is more or less the replacement for the NVIDIA SHIELD anyway so if they make it more powerful then that running a lock downed OS they will be fine for games.

I think they're too wide to be USB or HDMI. I reckon they're for the Wii/U Pro Controllers/NES Mini controllers. The same connection as this one here.

    and this

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in this. They have very similar list every console announcement. It just a statement that they might do something down the line.

Pretty much all online 'sources' confirming it will be 100% region free.

I thought I was seeing things tbh, would also love if they brought xeno blade chronicles x too it, save me buying a wii u.

I agree. For now its an image of developers logos and thats really it. I'll check back when there is actually a confirmed list of games to be released.

It is a list, a list of confirmed developers for the Nintendo Switch, from Nintendo.
It's not some bunch of random crap from a "confirmed insider" on Reddit, who turns out to be rambling notions from an attention seeker.

Generally that just means they have devkits though. I'm certain NIS was on a similar list for the 3DS and I don't think they ever developed anything for it.
