    I WANT SO MUCH!!!
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/datsun-280zx/8772659?offset=10

Would be daily driver. Would do some modernising touch ups etc.

I was wondering, if I could still keep it on uk plates as classic insured car? Or I still would need to VRT the bastard.

I would really consider buying that and selling scooby.

Anyone interested in buying a 2001 Vauxhall Astra? 1.4 16V. Replaced the ECU (third time was the charm) yesterday and now it runs very nicely. It was parked up for quite a long time and if I was to tax it myself, I'd have to pay some serious arrears.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,066 ✭✭✭✭Big Nasty

Sell it to your Mom. ;)

Throw an honest ad up with decent pictures for €650 asking. With some negotiation it should shift quickly enough...?

I actually considered buying this one a while back but the lack of power steering would drive me mad.

failing on rusty break lines seems very common these days.

    1) is this a new check or are they paying more attention to this now?
    2) how does break lines rust , apart from the obvious?

my car was left outside for 18months undriven and I was expecting the breakline issue with my NCT but fortunately did not.

Well, my plan was to modernise it. Do it cool way. Thing is that engine is bit **** too.
So common sense kicked in and I better off buying a shell for way cheaper. 2500 for automatic one with all the hassle will not work out. I need it dirt cheap so I can throw it in to buddy's garage and he can work away on it, or o need something I can drive now and three keys at my buddy to sell scooby. first world problems eh?
Still, would love that datsun :(. One of those dream cars. Already had scooby, skyline, Mx5, will see how I will get along with e34, e30, datsun next :D

The sections of the line are metal and rubber and the metal parts get bad surface rust especially on UK imports like mine.. I was expecting mine to fail and I'm hoping a wire brush, sandpaper and some hammerite will be enough if the corrosion isn't too bad.

That is a nice car. Do ye all reckon it was resprayed? If not I don't know how it was kept in such pristine condition over the years.

Does anyone here know the procedure in getting your Trailer Licence (BE)?

I know that you get a provisional licence first, but do you do some kind of test to get it done for your full licence? Is it a theory test or a test where you have to drive with the trailer on?

I cant seem to get a solution with the RSA website and the woman in the NDLS centre a couple of weeks ago was no use.

It's an actual test you drive around a double axle trailer that has to have a certain amount blocks in it for weight. That's about as much as I know about it not the easiest thing to pass from what I here but of your already handy with reversing towing a trailer it shouldn't be too bad.
